Kent were terrible from the initial move day through to delivery. My PS5 went missing (presumably stolen) and they broke an aircon unit on delivery. You end up doing most of the organising and hard work too. Plus, they also hit you up with added charges such as "long carry" on the delivery day. Their insurance is a scam also, the excess is $500! Use Kent if you enjoy stress, poor communication & unreliable service I had a very disappointing experience with Kent Removalists and would not recommend their service. To begin with, my furniture was collected in QLD outside the scheduled time, with no prior call or notice despite their team's "reassurance". There was also no proper confirmation of what was collected, and it appears a signature may have been recorded without my clear acknowledgement. Things only got worse with delivery. The original delivery date in VIC was changed multiple times without any proactive communication. I was first told it would arrive 2 days earlier than scheduled, and then the day before that revised date, I had to take urgent annual leave to accommodate. On the actual day, no one contacted me at all. I had to follow up myself, only to be told the delivery was postponed to the following Monday due to a so-called "safety concerns." Had I not called, I would not have been informed. The final delivery ended up being scheduled 3 days later than the agreed contract date. A manager later admitted it was in fact a system error, not the "safety concerns" explanation originally provided. While a 10% partial refund was eventually offered after escalation, the impact had already been significant. I was forced to take three separate days of annual leave, repeatedly explaining the situation to my employer, which understandably reflects poorly on me. Overall, this experience reflects a serious lack of communication, accountability, and operational reliability. For a service that is supposed to reduce the stress of moving, this created the exact opposite. Stay away. They have zero accountability for their services or erros. We contracted Kent to do our move from Sydney to the US. Kent's employee made a clerical error that caused our belongings to go to the wrong port and cost us an additional $2900USD. Worst off, they didn't even contact us to notify us. I found out from the US based company who said they were unsuccessful in getting a response from Kent for two weeks!!! I then emailed my contact person with no response so I called. They redirected me to a senior member of the team who said we could discuss some kind of refund given that this was their error. THEY HAVE GHOSTED US. they have stopped responding to emails and won't call us back. Their error and they still won't provide us with any kind of communication to even discuss options. On top of it, our belongings arrived with items that were packed and were broken. Stay away! read more

I was very impressed by the friendly and efficient service provided by Paul and Maurizio who moved my boxes and furniture down a whole flight of stairs .It was an arduous task which they performed without any issues . Kent removals and storage are all show and no go. They present themselves as a reputable removalist company however once you have paid for the service it all changes. We had the following occur; * Overcharged $300 for a rubbish removal at time of move (we were never told this was a charge within the service until we had issues with the entire move). Misleading and deceptive conduct undertaken by sales person quoting our move. * No communication from the move coordinator - again once the invoice was paid - there was no care for the service to be provided. * Not provided with box pick up - Kent organised a day for box pick up. They did not attend the address to pick up our boxes which was confirmed via email and text. Instead they blamed us for not being home (they arrived on another day when we were not home and did not communicate this to us). They also have attempted to charge us $55 for this service that is meant to be free. * LOST ITEMS - Kent have lost our boxes - they have been unable to find some of our belongings. The have also not provided us with the requested photos from pick up so we can clarify exactly how many boxes are missing. Kent have had 7 days to find our items to no avail. Additionally, no communication from Kent has been provided as to the progress or outcome of this. Kent reported they will nto tell us what happened to our boxes. * DAMAGE - Kent have damaged multiple items of ours in the move. Again no financial remuneration has occurred for this (we had insurance with them too). read more

So much hype and so little delivery. Packed my household possessions back n June 2022. Was advise it generally takes 8weeks turn around by the team at Kent. Well it is almost Mid October some 20 weeks later... We are sleeping on the floor of our new home as we have just moved in and now motor bike delivery is happening Monday 10th. I do not have safety gear and will have to purchase at vast expense... To think a container my wife purchased was packed and picked up mid August, cleared customs and going to be delivered next week. As for Kent they cannot confirm a delivery date. Unprofessional and a lack of transparency speaks volumes about the Victoria Australia team... So disappointed considering the premium price paid.. Last year, I moved from Sydney to Melbourne with around 20 boxes and 4 pieces of furniture. The movers in Sydney arrived earlier than I was told the day before which didn't work in my favour as I still had to remove linens from my bed and pack 3 more boxes. Overall, I was pleased with the Sydney movers as they were quick, efficient, and managed to get my washing machine out of the laundry room which proved difficult. One thing to note: it was not made clear how long it would take for everything to arrive in Melbourne. This info was not present on any of the documents I was sent or given. This definitely needs to be clearer as I had packed almost all my clothes into the truck and therefore did not have appropriate clothing for almost 3 weeks. I just assumed it would take a week at most which could be my error. When the Melbourne movers arrived, they were quick and efficient at moving all my stuff into the garage for storage. Towards the end of the move, it became clear that the 2 movers were confused over something. According to their inventory, 2 packages were missing. One box was delivered within the week while the other has not been returned. I'm not entirely sure what I've lost but I don't think this should happen when using a large reputable company like Kent. Lastly, I noticed that a couple items came damaged. The leg of my small dining table was snapped off. Due to the fact that I did not get insurance, thinking a professional moving company would not break my furniture, the company would not pay for the table to be fixed. Also, when I called about the missing package, I was never told what was being done to track it down nor even if they were still tracking it down. Overall, I was not impressed. The movers in Sydney and Melbourne were great at loading and unloading everything but a couple things were lost and I found out that insurance really is a MUST when moving with Kent as your items are likely to arrive damaged. read more

Ok, the pre-removal service was really good and smooth - well, the salespitch went down well. We bought the service because they said they only use their own employees. We also asked them to pack the kitchen. On the day, 3 blokes came with a hire truck. So they dont really have all thier stuff. Anyway, the loading and packing went slowly. We are only moving to a 10-min distance. Ok, when we went done, we were charged the packing of 41 boxes! But we could only find 27 boxes! Fortunately the overcharge bill was changed. But the truth was the movers boxes removal bags together. So we packed the bags, and they were happy to move the bags as they were in the first run. Then they thought they wete running late with a small truck and start to randomly put all bags in box, which we have to pay for. Anyway, after we unboxed, we also found keyboard, apple timecapsule and a gopro camera missing. Their office is also not communicating at all. I will certainly not recommend Kent Removals at all. read more

Moved from Sydney to Millingandi(far south coast of NSW)with a 2 week storage period. Everything went as smoothly as we hoped. Kent did all the packing.Only 1 broken light bulb. All the staff in admin and the movers were very pleasant too deal with. The cost seemed totally reasonable. I would highly recommend Kent to anyone. read more

Can only speak of Kent Removals and Storage in Melbourne but they were excellent. We packed our own boxes but the two men moved them professionally, nothing damaged, even agreed to move a couch down two flights of stairs that was being given to charity. They organised the cleaner who was outstanding and meant that we got back our bond on the apartment we were leaving. Its important to clarify things with the office prior to moving and have realistic expectations, moving is a hassle and always expensive. Kent is not cheap but it worked for us. read more

Great team, very professional. We did packed our own boxes however we soon realised that the estimated number was going to be greater than expected. Discussed this with Kent and this was not an issue with no additional cost. Removalists arrived on time (which included the removal of a piano and a large snooker table). Everyone was courteous and helpful - nothing was too difficult. Move from Sydney metro to regional Qld was done efficiently and nothing was damaged. Could not have asked for anything more. My experience with Kent started off very well in Sydney when they collected my furniture in October for what was meant to be a short period of storage and then an international move, I paid half the price before upload with view to pay the second half on delivery. I contacted Kent in December as I had not had any bills for storage of my furniture, initially the person( who was new as the person I had dealt with had left the company) could not find my order and referred me on to someone else. I then spoke to someone called Chris and I then explained my move was not longer international and was going to be interstate instead, I was told of the revised price I would need to pay before delivery, I was sent the first quote that had another persons name on on it, the second quote had the old international address on it, the third quote was finally right which i paid promptly. I was told the delivery date of the 25th Jan, I explained that I was going to be away for work so to either email me or leave a message on my phone which I would get the Friday when I landed. I had no more correspondence with Kent, I contacted Kent Sydney at 8.30am Sydney time to ask if everything had gone ok re my move as I had heard nothing and was told by the reception girl I would have to wait for the Perth department to open before they could confirm anything. I contacted the Perth office at 8.30am and was put through to operations where a very helpful man called Matt told me that he had no job in my name logged and to call the Sydney operations centre. I contacted the Sydney operations centre and spoke to a gentleman named Grant who was very stressed and informed me that my furniture was on the system and that he had a job number and that is was a Pert delivery so i need to call them back. I spoke to Matt again in Perth operations and gave him the dispatch number, he informed me that there was no record of that container coming to Perth and that it also had to record of leaving Sydney. Matt told me he would call me back. 45 mins passed and Matt contacted me and asked if anyone from Sydney had contacted me (which they had not) he informed me that Sydney was actually unable to locate my container and he suspected it had not left their yard, He told me he would contact someone higher up in Sydney and they they would call me. I waited til 11am Perth time then contacted the Sydney operations centre again where I spoke to Grant again and he told me that he was very busy today due to tomorrow being a public holiday and that he had just had a staff member walk off that job, I told Grant where I understand his obvious stress levels but I was standing in an empty house in a new city the day before a public holiday in 35 degree heat. He explained he was too busy to look for my container and that I would just have to wait til someone got back to me. I waited another hour and contacted Grant again where he then released the name of his state manager and told me to contact him. I contacted Mike the state manager on his moblie and left a message. I then contacted him again an hour and a half later and he answered the phone, Mike initially denied any knowledge of my job but then in the next sentence told me he had located my container and that is was still in storage in Sydney and that it would be able to be sent to Perth in 11 days time. I pointed out to Mike that I was standing in my empty house waiting for said furniture in a new city. Mike said where he was sorry that there was nothing that he could do, I asked about being put up in accommodation but he told me that seeing I had had insurance he couldnt help. I pointed out that I had purchased insurance at the start with his company and his response was 'oh but i still dont have authorization' I asked to speak to someone who did, he told me that his manager had gone home (4.15pm Sydney time) I pointed out that I had waited all day for someone to contact me only to have to call multiple times to then be told I was too late cos the person that could help me had gone home early, and that the next day was going to be Australia day so no one would get in contact with me until Wednesday morning. Mikes response was yes that was correct and that there was nothing that he could do. So now I am sitting here writing this article in hopes to 1 get a response that is more fitting of the circumstance and 2 to stop other people from having experiences like I have with Kent. read more
