UPDATE: Bob Rice from Kents Rental contacted us after seeing a post I left on Facebook, and apologized to both Doug and I for the condition of the table and chairs we were delivered for our wedding. He reimbursed the full cost of the rental back to us. Therefore, I wanted to let you all know that he made things right. Hopefully he won't rent those tables and chairs out to anyone again, unless it's for a Halloween party, or such. -------------------------------- Back at the end of October of this year, my husband, Doug, and I rented tables and chairs from Kents Rental for our wedding reception. We paid extra for the nicer white, padded seat, folding chairs, because we were told they were the nicer chair. (This was for our wedding after all.) The product that we received was nothing like the product we were promised. Far from it. Doug has been in contact with Kents numerous times, and each time he has been told that the owner will be calling him soon. I have sent messages to them on numerous occasions, and have not gotten any response. It's been almost two months and we still haven't heard from the owner. I'm wondering why? I cant believe they consider this good business practice. A lot of the chairs were unusable, and the tables were so messed up (splintered), that we had to rush out and buy duct tape to put on the tables to prevent people from getting hurt... after some people did. Also, we couldn't put anything heavy on the tables as there was no support in the middle of the tables. .. they were broke too. The chairs were just plain nasty and falling apart. I will attach pictures of the product we were delivered so you can judge for yourself. We paid over $700 for these rentals and we're truly disappointed with the product. Kent's Tents was amazing! We used them for our wedding on July 13 and it was a very hot day! The tent we originally ordered was not up to their liking when they unrolled the sides and they were quick to email me asking if it were okay that they bring a different tent with different sides because they were not satisfied with the look of the original one. We were so pleased with the look and everything about the tent. They were efficient with emailing me back whenever I had a question. With the fans and the sides on the tent, my guests were very satisfied and had an enjoyable time sitting outside visiting with one another. I would gladly order from Kent's for any of my renting needs! Also Tony that is associated with Kent's did amazing lighting and made it very convenient for me to get my payment to him as well as the communication. We rented tables, chairs, and a champagne fountain for our wedding. The tables looked pretty old and had paint all over them but weren't too bad. The chairs on the other hand were awful. We ordered 45 of the white folding chairs. 2 of them were broken. The others were chipped, missing chunks of wood, and the cushions on some of them were ripped open. The champagne fountain didn't even work. Which was pretty disappointing. They served their purpose but that was about it. read more

1. the guys who made the delivery were followed there by some guy in a white truck while the guys were making the delivery the white truck kept Doing circles in the cul-de-sac hollering out the window at the guys making the delivery while we were trying to go over the list together I kept asking the guy do I have the hightop table for the beach yeah yeah yeah it's in there I said but what about the bar he said its that piece and it's that piece I said OK he said OK that's it and I said well what about my linens he goes yeah yeah yeah will get them then they walk over to the guy in the white truck they start having a conversation with him I look over I said what about my linens he said oh yeah that other guy Will get them well they were both over there talking to the guy in the white truck and I was like my linens please so then they both bring over the linens and I'm like this is it the bar skirt everything is in here yeah it's all there it's all there then they both went once again back over to the white truck and continue to start hollering and having a conversation right outside my house I almost thought for a minute that they were ever there fighting because they were being so loud until I saw the guy actually smiling 2. The two pieces that were brought for the bar did not even go together we receive the black piece and then a regular rectangle table and the two pieces did not go to gather at all 3. There was no hightop table for me to have my ceremony at the beach with I had to go to one of the bars on the beach and beg them to let me borrow one of their high top tables so I could actually have the ceremony 4. Even if the correct pieces for the bar would have been sent to set up the bar the skirt linen that was suppose to be wrapped around the bar was not sent 5. There were 3 linens that were removed from the bags covered in bbq sauce they hAd to be washed and dryed just hours before the wedding otherwise I would not have had enough linens for the tables 6. We rented a tent for my daughters wedding that was supposed to start at 4pm. The tent people showed up 4 hours late and with not enough time to set up the tent and have the wedding planners decorate.We sent them back and was told I would be given a complete refund. We had to move our Grandparents into the shade during the reception due to not having the tent. So they missed seeing some of what their Grandchildren's reception was like. I called mutiple times for 2 days and was given Bobby Rice cell phone number who would not take or return my calls. I left messages with the office and still no return calls. If you have a choice do not rent anything from this company as they do not back up what they promise! read more

We rented tables, chairs and sound equipment from Kents for our wedding out at a house on the beach. Delivery was on time and they brought everything we ordered, but a lot of the chairs were pretty significantly scuffed up and one of the speaker stands was missing a screw. We ended up having to go and buy a part for it from Lowes which was kind of annoying. We had to be out of the rental by 10am in Monday, and they were very weird about pickup. They guy I ordered from kept saying he couldn't guarantee a 10am pickup which was odd, but after I insisted he ended up giving me a window of 8am-10am. They weren't there to pick up the stuff until 10:30, so we had to turn in the keys to the house and just wait outside for them with all of the stuff piled in the driveway. read more

I used Kent's for my son's party last year. I rented six tables and about 30 chairs. My only complaint were about the quality of the tables, they were extremely dirty, some with sticky substances; one table had an extremely sharp edge from where a piece of the wood was missing, and another table was broken and wouldn't hold up on one side completely. The tables were not all the same, some were different heights, some were wood, some plastic. I wasn't expecting that, and assumed based on the catalog that the tables would all be plastic (and clean). Kents Special Events is fantastic! It is obvious they are under new ownership. The new owner is passionate about his work and wants to accommodate his customers. The employees are delightful to work with, on-site, at the event space. They work as a team and they are efficient to get the job done in a timely manner, but assuring it is done the right way, the first time! Not only that, we were in need of last-minute chairs, an extra 150 of them. The owner delivered them himself, within the hour. I highly recommend Kents for small gatherings and large events. I cant believe this company is able to get any business. Recently was maid of honor fir my best friends wedding in Destin Florida. They were supposed to set up between 6 and 8 AM they arrive 4 HOURS late and told us it would take another 3 HOURS to set the tent up which would be pushing the wedding back multiple hours and would not accept help for any of the men onsite so that we could get our tent up in time. Ended up cancelling the tent at that point and were told to call and speak with the manager to get the refund. And now of course we ate unable to reach anyone at the company or get any return phone calls from the multiple messages that have been left. THOUSANDS of dollars were spent for this tent for the wedding and not only were they extremely late and unprofessional with the set up of the tent the management is not doing any better with correcting the situation. NEVER use this tent company for anything you have a deadline for or for any day that is going to be important. Such a disgrace. read more

The delivery of the 10 tables, linens, 50 chairs, 2 coolers and galvanized tub came at 3 separate times through the day with made it difficult to do anything other than wait for the delivery. Estimated delivery times could not be given. 8 of the 50 chairs had damaged seats and could not be used, some of the others where stained. One of the lids for the coolers was not attached and broken clean off. 4 of the tables that were bistro/bar tables where very rickety and unstable. They are incredibly unprofessional and are not bothered by ruining meticulously planned events with their lack of company moral. They showed up FOUR HOURS LATE and were unable to set up the backyard tent for my best friends destination wedding. Keep in mind, this was a tent that costed the bride thousands of dollars, and they are in no hurry to answer about refunding the disaster they caused.
