I went to a bridal expo and spun a wheel and was signed up for a Noir photoshoot after receiving a coupon. For some reason I had to go ahead and book it that day. About a week later, I called to reschedule it for as late as possible. Honestly, in February when I booked it, I still had my winter holiday weight and would have preferred to have done a Noir photo shoot in the summer. When I called, I was only allowed to push it out two weeks. I mean not a huge issue but also not ideal. If I'm going to take photos of myself in lingerie I'd prefer to look my absolute best. This was also a gift for my fiancé so again, I would prefer to look my best. Throughout the weeks leading up to the shoot, you will receive reminders and emails on what to expect and tips on what to pack and wear. This was helpful. The day of the photoshoot, I arrive and was offered a mimosa or water while you get ready in hair and makeup. That all went fine, and everyone was nice. Once ready, the photographer came in and helped me select a couple of outfit options. We ended up choosing four outfits. The photoshoot itself was very easy and the photographer clearly knows what she was doing because she posed me perfectly in flattering poses. The rooms/sets were also nice and professional, and the lighting was fantastic. The whole actual experience was very professional and pleasant. At the end, they tell you you have to come back within two weeks to be eligible for their discount pricing. I was going to be out of the country for a week and then when I came back, i obviously had to go back to work. I had to fit the photo review appointment in somehow. After the appointment is scheduled, THEN and only THEN do you learn about the pricing. I will actually attach below. Honestly, it was shocking. I can understand the prices for an entire book and the really nice large prints but for digital photos, I was flabbergasted. I honestly think it's shady business practice to not post the prices up front. Clearly, you are trying to hide something. I went to the appointment to review the photos. They had me in a private room with a slideshow on a big screen with music playing. You get to see all your pics and then go two by two to select which ones you like. You can keep narrowing it down until you get to your favorites. That process was perfectly fine and easy but again you have to decide right then and there. I decided on digitals because of cost. I only ended up getting five because it was just so expensive. I would have got more photos had it been more reasonable. I'm the type of person that likes to think things over and being forced to make a decision in the moment especially to drop a large sum of money is stressful to me. Pros: Professional, lots of tips beforehand, beautiful sets, great lighting, good camera, and nice hair and makeup. Cons: No upfront pricing and very expensive!! I didn't like being forced to complete the shoot months before I really wanted to. I didn't like being forced to make a decision quickly without time to really think about it. Overall, I would say people need to know what it costs and then it will be a better experience. Finding out how expensive it was at the end took the fun away from the experience and leaves you feeling scammed. Honestly, I could buy some lighting off amazon and have a girlfriend take some pics. I may still do that so i can actually create a full album for my fiance since five pics aren't going to do much. read more

I wasn't going to write a review. In April 2024, I "Won" a "free" boudoir shoot on FB. I accepted, to celebrate my 30th birthday, even though I live over an hour away. Everyone was lovely. I had a lot of fun and felt pampered. It was wonderful, but that changed when it was time to book a follow-up. The session was "free" and came with one print - I assumed low-res digital pics were included. I had checked the website, but couldn't find pricing - I would've never thought to look at a page called "investments," I'm not an investor. Even then, it's not clear that you can't get ANY digital copy of the photos you don't get printed unless you pay specifically for high-res photos. Especially since I know industry averages, I was stunned and disheartened when they handed me a rate sheet, but at the time I still hoped I could get the digital photos without paying an arm and a leg. If they didn't choose me because my FB shows I'm sentimental and value the arts, they got lucky. They reeled me in and put me in a situation where I had no good options. I had to book another appointment to see the photos, beautifully arranged in a video with an empowering song. They were AMAZING! I had to decide then and there - pay $1300 (including a $100 fee for not being able to pay in full immediately..seriously??) to get all the digital photos in high res, or any number of very pricey options to only get some photos. Any I didn't choose would be deleted at the end of 2024 and I'd never see them again. There was no option to get lower-res files, proofs, etc. for cheaper. If I had known, I would have never even booked the shoot. I started the payment plan, which was a significant financial burden due in part to the fact that it had no flexibility for length and had large bi-weekly payments, meaning one month would have 3 massive payments. I couldn't get the photos until I had paid in full. A couple months later, I got an offer to transfer my payment plan to an online pay-later platform, which I gladly accepted - it made the length of the plan longer but the monthly payments more reasonable. This change allowed me to receive the photos in June. I paid it all off early in Feb 2025. The customer service and the work was amazing, but I definitely felt mislead by the fact that I "won" something for "free" and ended up only being able to get the product by spending almost 4 months' rent on something I would not have even wanted if I hadn't been told I "won" it for "free." They talk about empowering people and lifting them up but it was the opposite for me. I chalked it up to a learning experience. I wasted a LOT of gas and money, but I had the photos and would be more careful in the future. I decided to move on with my life, remove myself from their FB group, unfollow the business page, and wash my hands of the situation, not even bothering to leave a review. Until today. Months after I'd already paid off the plan, I received a text AND an email from the studio telling me that for 24 hours only, I could get ALL of my photos (that I'd paid $1300 for) from 2024 (that were supposed to have already been deleted) for $89. I would've been annoyed to receive any communication from them at this point, but THIS was cruel. I was embarrassed about having been fooled until now - now I'm just angry. I was lied to and misled in a number of ways. I'm writing this to warn people. If you found this place through a social media contest, remember that "if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is." If you're considering them for your paid photography - they do amazing work and are lovely, but you can find more honest business practices and better prices elsewhere. This business ran a sucker scheme that is as close as you can get to a scam without actually being one. I fell for it, thought it was over, but they had to insult me one final time. I had decided to be quiet and let it go, but now I'm going to make sure to warn people as much as I can. read more

I want to start off by saying I was asked to post a review of my experience to promote their business and they removed my negative review from Facebook. I won a noir photo shoot from them. The contest included winning a print or digital photo. I chose not to order any additional prints and just get my free image that I won, and it was never provided to me. As for the experience- the photoshoot itself was so fun and wonderful, everyone made me feel so great! As for the photos, I would have been very upset if I paid money for them. I am a chubby girl and I feel like my photographer posed me in ways you would pose smaller girls with no chests. I left my viewing feeling really bad about myself. I've see big women have really sexy and attractive boudoir photos, but mine were completely unflattering. I feel that there were a lot of small tweaks or other positions in posing that my photographer missed that would have looked much better. A big girl doesn't need to be hunched over pushing her chest to make it look like she has boobs so that her stomach is popping out looking like a busted can of biscuits! As for the contest- I'm not sure if it was just a ploy to get me to purchase more and since I didn't, I'm not getting the image I supposedly won. I was promised this image almost two weeks ago. I called to see why I had not received it a week ago and still have not heard back. read more

This has been the best experience getting my photo taken! Jenni, the makeup artist, greeted me at the door and took me to my dressing room. Where I laid out all my outfits, and then she took me downstairs to do my hair and make-up. She was amazing and felt like one of my best friends. Then, I was taken back to my dressing room, where Emily, my photographer, met me to discuss my outfits. Once we had a game plan, I got changed and went into one of the rooms, and she made me feel so comfortable and beautiful. Not once did I feel uncomfortable. The prices are high for photos, but I think it is well worth it. I did this as a surprise for my husband, and I cannot wait to see his reaction! 10/10 recommend! read more

ZERO STARS!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I was scammed. And after reading some reviews, and how they delete negative comments, I think it's a COMMON thing with them. They reel you in with a "free shoot" that you actually end up paying for with a "deposit" they claim is to hold your spot. Photos are OUTRAGEOUSLY high priced and the photos were not the best; even tho the photographer kept telling me the photos Looked fine while shooting. The women who took the photographs were lovely and personable, and photos were great. Eery other interaction from a business perspective was terrible customer service. They ask you to wait in your vehicle and text your arrival - no one responded to my text - and when I knocked on the door I was met with excuses and felt blamed for inconveniencing the staff. My digital photos were delivered well past the expected 2 week timeline - it took 6 weeks and I had to email twice to obtain them. In the second message, I asked for my money back and to just forget it. instead, my photos we're magically ready immediately with no attempt to make up for the delay or acknowledgement of my request for a refund. There were also excuses. if you want customer service (which you deserve for the inflated price of these photos) go elsewhere. Dont waste your money or time. read more

I'm just disappointed yelp won't let you leave a zero star review. Not only did they charge my wife after she won a "free" photo shoot. But they tried to sell her the most expensive option as if nothing else was available. Then they proceed to tell my wife she can't cancel her order. This company was very unprofessional and will do their best to charge you as much as they can. One photo for 250 bucks??? No thanks. I will no longer support this company and I highly recommend no one else give them their business. I am very disappointed with their work ethic. I love my session. I have great conversations with both my Makeup person and photographer. My Makeup was done just as I would have do it. My photographer was fun and funny. She even helped me pick out what outfits would be best. I brought 5 wore 3 and could have gone for another hour or so it was that fun. I didn't want it to end. read more

This is the first review I have ever written, but I had to let people know that Kent Smith Photography is amazing! The studio is beautiful, inside and out, from the lobby, to the gorgeous backdrops and scenery for photographs, to the dressing rooms. Amanda (the photographer) will make you feel beautiful and make your session fun, even if you're not all that comfortable taking pictures. She even helped me pick which accessories looked best with my outfits. I'm one of those people who rarely takes good pictures, and Amanda made sure my headshots turned out great! It was also a pleasure working with Sherri (Amanda's mom and the owner of the company) to choose my favorite shots. Totally took advantage of my daughter with the pricing for a digital photo shoot for her family of 3. She was charged $500 for 3 digital photos including 1 "complimentary" photo. Ridiculous! Their 30 minute digital session is advertised on their site with 20 photos for $795...but my daughter was charged $500 for 3 photos. Outrageous. 3 digital photos she has to get printed herself...for $500....utterly ridiculous!!! read more

Make sure you get a detailed price list from this company before you order anything!! Placed an order in March and we were not happy with the proofs and canceled the order before anything was printed. Agreed to do a re-shoot and I should have made her refund my money. They canceled the re-shoot once because of HVAC issues in the building and then I canceled because my daughter dyed her hair blue. I decided that one of the pictures from the first shoot, I wanted copies of that one. I asked for pricing via email and was expecting since I had already paid her $2703.76 for prints that I had not gotten yet that the pictures I ordered would be deducted from the money I paid. Her office assistant called me when the photos were done and told me there was a balance. I promptly told her no, I already have a huge credit with you, deduct it from my credit. I then emailed Sherri and told her that I expected the pictures to be deducted from my balance. I also told her that we would not be doing the reshoot due to personal reasons and asked that the remainder of my money be refunded. She then informed that if I wasn't getting the original order that the prints I ordered were no longer $59 each, they were $119 each....for 8x10 print, not framed!! And that I would need Pay an edit fee for the touch ups done to the original photos. The edit fee was $75. I agreed to pay the edit fee but refused to pay $119 for an 8x10 print when she quoted me $59 before and never informed me that this was a "discounted" price based on my original order. Basically she wants to charge me $1027 for 8-8x10 photos plus the edit fee. This is completely outrageous and a price I was never told and I never would have ordered them had she told me that price. She currently still has all my money and I filed complaints with the BBB office and Attorney General. read more

Amanda was very friendly and helped me chose the right outfit. This was where the good ended. I was told at the appointment that I would have my image back in 7-10 days, it was 15 days before I got it back. When I got it back there was a huge glare on my head and my white dress shirt looked like it was glowing. It would literally hurt your eyes to look at the picture it was so bright. Now back to the session for a moment. At the end I had to select my image off the screen on the camera. The image looked great on there but it is a tiny screen. All the other images were deleted and therefore lost forever. So there is this one image that even the best person at photoshop probably could not fix. I called and emailed them back about it but have received no response, and it has been a week now. I just can't believe that this was the experience I had at Kent Smith. This is supposed to be one of the best studios in town they they could not even get a head shot right. Now I get to go pay someone else to get my head shot done. It is unbelievable. read more

The staff is professional. Treated me with respect. They helped me work through better understanding of how to pose and make the best of the natural lighting. The results were unbelievable. I have a great professional headshot and I am excited to use across all social media accounts. My photos look great, better than I expected. The staff allowed me to see a number of options and bought some very good shots. My family and colleagues love the quality of the photos, I was able to walk out with my head high, feeling very good about my look. This studio knows what they're doing. They do more than just take pictures. Very classy, very friendly. The photographers get to know you, appealing to your personality and they bring out something good in their pictures.
