Sepsis set in about 3 weeks after removal of a rod in mid Oct 2020 (2nd one removed in 2 years) from an earlier surgery by Dr. Covell. I thought (and wished) I had covid when I fell sick in mid-November. Lost the foot the night I was taken to hospital. Find a surgeon in Louisville or Cinci. Skip the small town doctors including Lexington, Danville etc.

This is not the norm at a specialty office, ever! I arrived earlier to fill out all that wonderful new patient paperwork. I didn't wait more than a few minutes. Another surprise! I was triaged and then had X-rays taken. The X-ray tech was super sweet! I waited a few minutes maybe 2, for doctor to come in. What?!? Am I in the twilight zone? Dr. Curry was so helpful, she shared, no stress fractures...yay!! She referred me to a physical therapist for threading. She said I was ok to run and the therapy appointment would provide some much needed relief. So happy I get to register for the mini! And she wants to see me at the finish line!! She also provided a training book for mini marathons as well!

I had to drive an hour and a half to see Dr. Rice in Winchester Ky. He is one of the worst doctors…read moreI have ever seen. He did not examine me; he did not spend more than 5 minutes with me. I can barely function. I have severe sciatic nerve issues causing me extreme pain. I have numbness that is increasingly getting worse. I can't even walk for more than a few minutes without becoming unstable on my feet. He didn't bother to ask questions about it and was completely dismissive towards me. He asked me if I wanted an MRI. I said since I could HARDLY function, I would think it would be necessary, but he acted like he could care less if I had one done. I now have to start all over and find another doctor because there is no way I would ever let him treat me for anything. Useless... a complete waste of time and money. When someone goes to see a specialist, it is because they need care. To have a doctor express no concern for a patient or not bother to listen to them or take them seriously should not be treating anyone.

Instead of fixing my hand, he said I had a pinched nerve in my neck & needed an injection in my back.....that would fix my thumb. It did not. Then he prescribed pain killers for months. He referred me to a neck and spine specialist when I requested a referral for a hand specialist. I feel Dr. Grau was unprofessional and left my hand damaged rather than addressing the real issue. I would NOT recommend Dr.Grau for any type of surgery.

I came in the office ON THE 18TH of October 2024, and they asked me what was I there for and I told them that I was there to be fitted for a new brace for my knee. One of the receptionist in the front told me to have a seat and I did, I wasn't even sitting there for 5 minutes until they started talking about me like I wasn't even there!! All the receptionists in the front reception area was very rude and obnoxious. One of the receptionist's was on a personal call on the work phone. Another one of the receptionist's told the person that was on the phone that you're the only one that knows how to do a brace and she told her that I'm on the phone talking. So that tells me right then and there that she ain't got time to see me to put the brace on my leg to see if it fit. Than the other receptionist's just start yapping her mouth saying why didn't her boyfriend bring her in yesterday and I said, first of all if y'all was listening to my boyfriend, he told y'all that the reason why I didn't come in is because I have lupus and I have really bad flare-ups and I was in the bed in allot of pain. That's what he told them and he told them that he will bring me in tomorrow if I was feeling better. He did so as I was sitting there while they started talking about me like I wasn't even there saying little things like well she came in too late she should have came in this morning to get the brace fitted we're about to close and I'm not doing anything, and I told them first of all I got here like 20 minutes after 4 and y'all don't close until 5:00. It doesn't take that long to fit a brace on someone's leg to see if it fit, It ain't like I'm seeing the doctor because I wasn't so that shouldn't be the issue. They started talking about me and I spoke and said Hey, don't y'all see me sitting here and y'all are talking about me like I'm not even here!! They got quiet because they weren't expecting me to say anything so I let him have it. I told them that they are very rude and I will be reporting them. The one on the phone while on a personal call could have gotten off the phone and took care of my fitting of the brace than went back to doing what she was doing but she didn't. She kept on and the other ones started making comments about me but I am going to report them so I'm giving them a bad review because their attitudes stink!!! really bad!!!
