Thankfully, the second person I spoke with was much more helpful and provided the correct information I needed. This has to be one of the WORST airlines in the world history. Not only are they very unprofessional and rude but they are also thieves. My luggage was sent to the WRONG COUNTRY by Kenya Airways and I have been waiting for over a month for my luggage return or compensation for said luggage to no avail. When I call they conveniently hang up on me or I am promised a returned call(Emma, who assured me she would call me back), which of course never happens. I have also been texting via WhatApp with a "baggage claim representative" Rapheal, who also seems not to have any answer for me. I'm not an unreasonable person, I understand stuff happens, but to blatantly ignore a customer after YOU HAVE wronged them is not the way to resolve the issue nor will it keep the customer. I pray I NEVER have to deal with this airline again.....ever! read more

Worst airline experience ever - stay away! Flight from Nairobi to the Seychelles. Kenya Airways routinely leaves all bags behind in Nairobi as they can make more money off of cargo. Our entire flight had their bags purposely left behind. Very little help once we all discovered this. And they only fly this flight twice a week. Victoria is expensive and has no department stores. We were leaving on a cruise in three days and we literally had nothing! Kenya said "maybe they could get us our bags at some point but no promises". So instead of a nice three days touring the island, we frantically shopped and searched for replacement clothing, shoes, toiletries, snorkel gear, swimsuits, hats, etc. Kenya gave us $100 after we tracked them down which covered three items of clothing. Our travel insurance only covers lost bags and we did receive our bags after 7 days. Kenya then had me jump through hoops for three months filing and re-filing all my receipts wherein I asked for fair compensation. After several months of leading me on, they said since my receipts were handwritten, they would not pay them (all the stores in Victoria only give store paper with items purchased written out - no one has cash registers but the drug stores), So our vacation was ruined by spending three days shopping and then having little to no clothing on the one week cruise and having to pay out $542 to get half of the items I had brought with me. Then Kenya further screwed me over by saying they would give me additional compensation and changing their mind. This is NOT an isolated incident as the baggage handlers and agents in Victoria said that Kenya does this all the time to their passengers and don't really care. I would recommend just about any airline in Africa except Kenya. read more

I have written to KQ for the umpteenth time for the refund of two tickets; Nairobi to Delhi and back. These tickets were for my father and brother from Nairobi to Delhi and back. We were advised that my father, who was seeking treatment to Delhi, was too frail to travel. I canceled the tickets on the 12th of December 2013, well before the traveling date of 15th of December 2013. I followed the protocol outlined in the ticket instructions that reassured that the tickets would be refunded within 20 business days. Since, then I have been contacted by Kenya Airways officials who have told me that the tickets to Delhi were flown which leads me to believe that they were resold. I have contacted various representatives in the office in Nairobi CBD as well as online who tell me that the refund is stuck in the finance office or somewhere in the processing system. The money is crucial for our family. In fact, my last contact was with Winifred Kariuki, the supervisor at the CBD office promised to follow this matter. I called her and she asked me to email her instead. I emailed her and got an "out of the office" response. She has yet to respond to me. I am angry and frustrated for the following reasons. I always fly Kenya Airways, Delta or KLM. The guarantee of money back if a service is not provided is standard business practice. Why am I being treated with this much indignity? I am sure that the above tickets were resold in a matter of minutes after cancellation, at prices higher than I paid for them. So then why is it so hard to get my refund? My only recourse, right now is to try to ensure that no one has to go through what I am going through. I am posting my experience online to ensure that others do not go through what I am going through. I am also writing to Skyteam so that they are aware of the business practice at KQ. I have spoken to others who have gone through a similar experience or simply given up. I will not give up. Please think twice before flying Kenya Airways, "the disappointment of Africa". read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Don't misspell your name or they make you jump through unreasonable hoops. They are happy to take your money for the payment of the ticket - but you need to go to a Chase bank to pay the $78 service fee to change the name. Been dealing with this problem for 5 long days - spent over 6 hours talking and re-talking to reps who know nothing. read more

After boarding, I found the aircraft itself attractive and well-maintained, and most of the flight attendants appeared hardworking and professional despite managing a busy cabin. However, the overall environment deteriorated as the flight progressed. A number of passengers were noisy and inconsiderate, and the lavatories became increasingly untidy within a few hours, with wet floors and sinks requiring attention.
