I ordered 2 ramen bowls to go. They put the wrong broth in the order. One was correct, the other not .By the time I found this out, I was home, they were closed. And didn't answer the phone at 810. Since I had never had a problem with them before, I assumed that I would call them this morning to straighten it out.. Big mistake. I was told that since I couldn't prove this there would be no refund nor any redo. I am terribly disappointed in their customer service. The food is good, but I don't always go by this. If I am going to spend $20 on a bowl of soup, I expect it to be what I ordered. If it isn't. I expect it to be made correctly. Please enjoy the $40 dollars you got from me yesterday. Went inside and was delighted by the lovely decor and seating area for sushi. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Found a great sushi special depending on how hungry you are. I was in Washington for a weekend and hungry so I decided to try Cherry Garden again; since I haven't had it since 2013. My previous visit was on Valentine's Day and I remember not being too excited with the food back then. I've talked to other people who live in the area and they love it, so it may just be a personal thing. But hey, things changed after 5 years, right? This time I ordered some ham fried rice since I got some at Golden Kitchen a few weeks ago and have been craving more since then. Did Cherry Garden scratch my itch? Kind of. The ham fried rice was pretty good but lacking that WOW factor. It's almost like they cook their food in a more... healthier fashion. With America's growing obesity issue, that could be a good thing! But I digress. The inside of Cherry Garden offers plenty of seating. The area where you order food to-go is separated from the seating area by some doors. So if you go to eat-in, you are secluded a bit from the traffic of people coming in and placing orders. With it attached to a strip mall area, there is plenty of parking, so that'll never be a concern. There is a website advertised on the menu but be warned when you visit it; my computer alerted me that it was a malicious website. Just think of one of those giant double-sided Chinese menus and that's exactly what this place offers. My fortune cookie was spot on though. It said, "Traveling at this time would be a good investment of time & money". Which is fantastic as I have traveled quite a bit lately and will be going to St. Louis soon to see a Cardinals game with my mom. So let's see what places I visit while down there! It had been years since I had dined here. The decor is probably as old as me. It used to be standard that you grilled your own meat or paid an extra charge for the restaurant to grill it. Now the menu says the grilling is done by the restaurant. However, you can ask to grill your own meat. Most of the dinner options are steaks. There is a Swordfish and salmon choice as well as pork chop and chicken entree. I had a ribeye steak medium well. It honestly was the best flavored steak I had in a very long time. It did have a lot of fat. The salad bar had your iceberg romaine mix (lots of spines which I don't care for). I would like more of a spring mix salad greens. Some pasta salad, potato salad and coleslaw were also on the bar. The croutons were delicious and possibly homemade. Several choice for your potato selection: baked, fries, steak fries, sweet potato fries or steamed broccoli. I would like to see a baked sweet potato as an option in the future. Our server was very attentive to the entire group. We were allowed to bring in our own dessert for after dinner. We supplied our own plates and forks. I am unsure if there was a fee for bringing our own dessert or "plating". They did refrigerate it for us during the meal. I do wish there were more bathroom options. 2 stalls on the main floor and the line can get pretty long not to mention the bathroom corridor is narrow.
