When there are minimal food options in a small town who the hell closes at 4PM?!? I ordered breakfast to go for my daughter and I as we were hitting the road for a long trip, didn't open the bag until about 15 miles down the road and realized I had someone else's order I called back to tell them and the woman who answered the phone was less than polite...even though they made the mistake. What a great spot! On our way to Peekamoose Blue Hole we stopped here to eat breakfast on my birthday morning. The staff was so kind, they brought me out an Oreo waffle with a birthday candle and sang happy bday! We also had eggs, bacon, biscuits, coffee and more. Everything was delicious. Excellent service and friendly atmosphere this restaurant is worth a try. I ordered for lunch a turkey club and my wife Mac and cheese even though they have an extensive menu. I order for extra sweet potato fries which were awesome. We both had a pleasant experience. It's the busiest place in town even at lunch on a weekday. read more

I've eaten here several times and it's a nice hometown diner. Good food, friendly staff, and always see someone I know. I love the Greek omelet and home fries. I like the improvements they've made. This was the most expensive breakfast we've ever had. We ordered what we Normally do at any other diner, not knowing that each add on (like blueberries on my French toast) was considered another plate. Something we would have paid $35 for somewhere else was a $60 bill. We went over it with the lady at the register and she said everything was right on the slip. read more

Been coming here since the summer and now into the winter. Every time we come, the staff is very friendly, service is prompt and prices are great. Best part is the food, constantly great food. Nice portions, love Friday night specials. Prime Rib done to perfection. Love Breakfast there too. Actually any time is good. One suggestion, change the bulbs from "Daylight" to A softer bulb, really. I know it might sound silly, but at night its to industrial. read more

KERHINKSON DINNER SUCKS an let me tell you why an lmk what you think. Me my husband an 2 other friends went there today ok ALL 4 of us ordered coffee US 2 DECAFE....OUR 2 FRIENDS regular. ... waitress brought 4 cups out all the same cup with 2 creamers on the side. I said this is definitely decafe right....yup.....WELL I take heart medicine to keep my heart rate low because I had a heart attack.....ok I took about 3 or 4 sips of my coffee.....OMG my head started swimming my pulse went up I immediately didn't feel right so I instantly knew she accidentally gave me the regular coffee. So when she came over we let her know she accidentally gave me the regular I know cause I can feel it an the OWNER comes over an tells me she's gonna charge me for another cup of coffee cause she's in the business to sell not throw stuff out.....I explained to her about my heart meds an I CAN NOT take any kind of caffeine at all cause it makes me feel weird. She looked in my cup an said well thats decafe......I said again NO ITS NOT.....MY HEART IS RACING AN I DON'T FEEL RIGHT.... she said well your gonna have to pay for another cup Needless to say all 4 of us canceled our ordered I paid the damm $5.40 for the coffee's an she told me never to come back.... WTF they made an error an she wanted to charge me.... what kind if business is this. ... what happened to the customer is always right .... I advise against going to this dinner, their beverage pricing is rediculous. They charge 1.95 for soft drinks and ice tea. You get one soft drink refill but if you get an ice tea refill they charge you an additional 1.95 for each fill up. I am from the midwest where every resturant I go to gives unlimite refills. There is big mark ups in beverages, it is bad enough to charge 1.95 but to limit a customer to one glass of ice tea for that is too much for me. How much does it cost to make a glass of ice tea 5 cents? This place has ok food, ok service but that doesn't justify the way they price their beverages. I notice they have drastically reduced their hours of opperation with policies like these they will be out of business soon. Don't waste your money here there are much better choices in the area. read more

The food a horrible. Instead of fixing the food or tweaking the menu the owners decided to change hours of operation. We gave it 3 chances each time we left and we're sick within an hour of eating their food. It's a diner. If you eat here, you can expect to have diner food. It's not bad, and it's fun to have when I don't have time to cook, but the menu is exactly the same as any other diner. They have very tasty breakfast options. I particularly like their scrambled eggs. The food tastes quite good, but I just can't justify spending the money there on it. Pretty standard diner with a good menu. I had a gyro with sweet potato fries and everything was delicious, service was good. I subtracted a star because there's a section on the menu for "children and seniors," with food like chicken fingers and spaghetti with butter. I understand wanting to give seniors some sort of discount but I don't think this is the appropriate way to do it. Seniors are grown adults, not children. read more

They charge for a side of gravy, a tomato, lettuce or onion for your burger. And when they screw-up your meal don't expect them to make it right. No that would cost them money. I was really hoping this place under new ownership would soar to success, but alas it's just the old place with a nice interior makeover and a tweaked sign. Apparently, the former owner even sold the new owner the flies that always buzz around the windows and land on the tables (and probably the food in the kitchen). It was one of the reasons I stopped going when it was Barringer's. Their motto was "keeping it country" and one of my friends said that referred to the flies. Overall, it does look much cleaner, but the food is the same standard to dull diner fare. If I didn't know about the new ownership I would have thought the previous cook prepared my omelet with home fries. Maybe they did hold onto the previous cook? Is it that hard to find a great cook when the CIA is so nearby? So disappointed. Truly a missed opportunity. This town is in need of a great place to eat, but the Kerhonkson Diner is not it. Fine is you want a cup of coffee and eggs with toast, but don't expect anything more. I guess I will still have to drive to Phoenicia, High Falls, Saugerties or Woodstock for the best food. First off was sat in the back with a crying baby, when there was more then enough seating up front, the waitress was terrible had an attitude. Screwed up drink order of water with lemon, forgot the lemon. Ordered food, got the chicken cordon bleu panini, chicken was flavored disgustingly, on top of the chicken tasting like rubbery Chinese chicken. Frys were cold. My gf ordered corned beef hash which was absolutely disgusting I wouldn't feed it to my dog. Poor service poor food quality. Woulda been better off going to mcdonoalds.
