Recycling and scrap metal is a dirty job, all walks of life come in looking haggard and unkempt, dirt from head to toe and every employee from scale to the yard to cashier treat all with the same smile and stellar customer service. I have used other smaller recycling businesses and have been made to feel uncomfortable and burdensome at times, but not at Unlimited. I have watched the homeless, the scrap business man, and the family man trying to make ends meet be invited to sit down and enjoy tacos as they celebrate a staff birthday. The workers do not show you the weight, throw the aluminum cans immediately into a larger batch (not mine) after weighing it (thus I'm not able to verify the weight), and then speak among themselves. She came out and checked my load and directed me to the area where I needed to deposit all this valuable stuff. There was a designated area for everything I had from appliances, wood, household, trash, metal, and Green waste. It probably took me 20 minutes to dispose in the right areas there were other workers out there that also directed me which was a big help.The Shafter is massive and well organized and staffed by friendly helpful employees. I was impressed with how organized this place is…read more First you drive up to the window and a really nice gal attending it surveyed what we were tossing and our main reason for the trip was because the Goodwill doesn't take older TV's only flat screens and we had a HD 36" that wasn't flat screen but was a great TV just was a boat anchor. Then everything on the right side is basically recycling. So we drove right up to the spot that said TV and electronics. Easy and organized also it was right next to were we had to drop the old highchair from the baby days of grandkids. Impressive that they are so organized since my last experience of a landfill. But it was smelly so no 5* here. But it was free!
