Had our first avian examination here a few months ago and was super impressed with how thorough they are. I thought I was fairly strict with my avian husbandry, but damn they are SUPER strict!! Hahaha. They provide what they feel is best for the animals. I appreciate that they're trying to educate everyone for the benefit of the birds. Luckily I passed with flying colors and was told I'm doing a great job. They are clearly used to handling parrots! I've never boarded my Grey before, he's been with me four years and he's either always traveled with me or I've had a family member stay with him. But now that I live here in FL and only have 1 other family member, I'm going to need another option - and this is a GREAT one! All the employees here seemed super sweet. My guy boarded here for 9 days and I was so worried about him being in a foreign place with overwhelming noises and chaos - but he really seemed to enjoy it! They were awesome about taking him out of the cage a few times a day to let him stretch and feel some freedom. He seemed to really enjoy being here and bonded with one of the girls who spent a lot of time with him. They sent me a couple pics/videos while he was there. They played some music, he got to "talk" and compare sounds with several other birds (including several other Greys!) who were there at the same time. While he was super happy to see me when i picked him up, I could tell that he was totally at ease during his time there. No signs of anxiety at all!! Yaaaayy!!! They even gave him a cute little report card, which i think is an adorable little touch. The office is easy to find, right on 19. It's bright and clean and friendly. They have a couple "house birds" in the main entry who are always fun to say Hi to. My only complaints are: - 1) that the cage he has to be in is fairly small and doesn't have normal perches (incubator), since he's fully flighted and I'm not willing to clip him. I wish they had some other larger options. But the fact that they take him out several times per day makes up for it - 2) they do charge much higher prices than other local boarding options, but again i think that comes down to how much time they're actually spending handling the birds - 3) They are not open on Sundays, and have a small window on Saturdays to pick-up/drop-off, so what this meant for me is that on my last trip i only should've had to board him 7 days but based on their timing I was forced to board for 9 days (which is also a significant additional cost, paying for 2 extra days that are unnecessary from MY side). Having said all this - I'll be back! I think they are great, and i appreciate the care that they put into the boarders. I also appreciate having a sweet staff. Definitely highly recommended!!

I took my White German Shepherd there since we move from Maryland 6 years ago. My Asher was pretty…read moremuch very healthy except for the seizures he suffered since he was 5 months. Only visit the vet twice a year for his wellness exam. For the last 2 months we was sleepy and drank a lot of water, and I told the vet when he had the last check up. Nothing was recommended or done to look for the cause of this. The last visit was in April and they told us everything was fine with the dog. In May our beloved Asher died in 2 days without any previous symptoms. Later I found out that German Shepherds should be screen for cancer every 6 months after 7 years old because they are prone to develop cancer (Hemangiosarcoma) from the spleen. I feel the doctors in this clinic didn't give Asher the best care neither they offer preventing cancer screening (ultrasound/x-ray), which could probably help us to catch that deadly desease early. They didn't do anything even when I told them he was very sleepy and drank a lot of water, which is a sign of internal bleeding in German Shepherds. If you have a German Shepherd or other large breed dog, I advice you to take in your hands your dog's health, and if you go to this clinic, ask for prevention screening for Hemangiosarcoma, a very aggressive type of cancer in dogs. I should have taken my Ashy to another place for his care because I feel Pet First neglected my dog, and did nothing to address our concerns.. Maybe if they did, Asher would be alive. I also would like to mention that during the animal exam, we told the vet that Asher has a lot of itchiness. She gave us spray for the elbows, because she said that probably he has an infection. We went home, and my son was playing with Asher and suddenly saw a flea coming out of his back. We found out that Asher has fleas and the vet didn't notice this in the exam. Please pets parents be aware of this silence desease and help your dog if you see anything unusual. My heart is really broken after loosing my baby Asher who was almost 10 years old and very healthy boy.

Over about a month and a half, he lost around two pounds, which was very concerning to me and my family. We explained this clearly during the visit, expecting a thorough evaluation. Unfortunately, the vet did not seem concerned about the weight loss and attributed it to stress from a new kitten in the home, suggesting that neutering the kitten would resolve the issue. No further testing or in-depth examination was recommended at the time, despite the significant and sudden weight change. Given the severity of his symptoms, I believe a more thorough physical exam should have been performed. Conditions like fluid in the abdomen and a heart murmur are serious findings that should be evaluated, especially when there is rapid and unexplained weight loss. About a week and a half later, Karl's condition worsened dramatically. He became limp, and we had to rush him to the emergency vet. There, we were told he had FIP, along with a heart murmur, fluid in his abdomen, and he was also jaundiced. We made the heartbreaking decision to euthanize him that same night. While I understand that not every condition can be caught early or prevented, I am deeply disappointed that such a serious symptom--rapid weight loss--was not investigated more thoroughly during our visit. Even if the outcome could not have been changed, earlier awareness might have helped us understand what he was going through and make more informed decisions about his care. Karl had also been hiding for weeks prior, which was very unusual behavior for him. Looking back, there were clear signs that something was wrong, and I wish more attention had been given to these concerns. This experience has been devastating for my family. I hope this review encourages the clinic to take significant changes in behavior and weight more seriously in the future. I will no longer be taking any on my animals here.

Moreso; my Bully has allergies that require a Rx. After years of being on this Rx, the vet office does not return Rx requests from the same Pet RX company; or, their reply is that my Bully is not prescribed for this Rx. She's been on the Rx for over four years; yet, they have no record of previous Rx orders to the same vendor over the last several years? Or, do I just need to bring her in for a visit charge? There is just no excuse for denying my pet's comfort and well being by administrative incompetence!
