But as SOON as I walked into the room (#4), I was smitten. There is a palpable 'peace' here. It had everything we wanted; a CLEAN spotless room, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, peace and quiet, quality cotton sheets AND a mesmerizing 50s TIME WARP! Bottled water, and other treats were also available. There is a resident, skunk named 'Princess', who pals around with the local cats at night. She has never sprayed anyone (said the departing 'Music Club' members. . . they ought to know, right?). Then after being informed, the HIGHLIGHT of my stay, was IMMEDIATELY seeing her at the bottom of the stairs! This property by no means should be listed and offer accommodations. It is a huge HEALTH HAZARD! Everything what could be broken - is broken. It is infested with cockroaches and bed bugs. Fridge was last cleaned decades ago - you cannot open it without suffocating. Toilet is not cleaned, nor even flushed! They do not change bedsheets. Bed sheets are dirty as somebody slept on them in dirty boots. Bed is full of somebodies hair. Windows are not closing, screens are all broken. Entrance door is so flimsy - it can be opened by light push. As this motel is in a remote area along the highway and there are no administration on site - it is simply not safe! Motel's policy is ridiculous: once you open the door (programmable lock) - it is considered you have checked-in, and there is no refund. But you can only see this despair condition after you enter the room, not before! Feels like a trap for unsuspecting tourists. It is a real damp! I could not force myself to stay there an extra minute, at 8PM I ended up in the middle of the country without place to sleep, and continue my trip overnight and drive 300 miles to Las Vegas in the middle of the night. P. S. Response to the owner's response: Should I say more? Owner's response and pictures I have attached speak for themselves better than any words! She is the same low class as her property. The only person who might find this property liveable is a convicts on parole. At least, they would be speaking with the owner the same language. One must have no self respect to even consider this motel for a night stay. Ameen!

The people that run it are beyond pleasant, friendly, accommodating, and full of knowledge you just have to ask. And it's right across the street from the riverkern deli and general store. That place has everything you can imagine plus phenomenal food and coffee. And you're just a 2 1/2 minute drive from town if you want to go there. I'm definitely staying here again.

There were a little sachets of shampoo, lined up, neatly. We arrived around 7 PM and didn't see an employee even though the office was open. And a sign was on the door saying the employee is on the property if missing. Yet an envelope was sticking to the door with a singular key and my name on it. This isn't welcoming and it's not a good image particularly since 7 PM is not late. I actually never interacted with the office manager as far as I'm aware because the individual was similarly absent when I checked out in the morning. I find it very interesting that if you look at the signage in one of the photos below that they're expected check-in time is 3 PM and no sooner yet you won't see an employee there at 7 PM. Does this mean the employee only works four hours per day? Here is what you should know: there is a very bizarre, almost compulsive attention to detail that makes me feel uneasy. In multiple places around the property, one of them in the room, threatening you with all the charges you will get if you 'act out'. The is also a grotesque professional sign on the gate of the pool discussing diarrhea, which made me not want to use it. This is truly excessive. Overall, very average place with an average rate.

I read on our reservation details that the office…read morecloses early so I contacted the management (like they said to do if you were coming in late) and the manager Bruce was there to check us in within 2 minutes! There was a mix up with the rooms being cleaned but it was worked out quickly. Everything we needed was quickly supplied. All of the staff were friendly, prompt and helpful. The Lodge is in a great location, within walking distance (2 mins) of a fully stocked supermarket, and 1 minute to the brewery. The cabin and room we had were clean and comfortable, with lovely comfy beds, and decent kitchen facilities. The air conditioning works well, and kept the cabin cool in the summer heat. The pool is clean and well presented. We used the gas bbq in the little garden area to cook our one night and enjoyed having them available. The outside areas could be a little cleaner and better maintained, but other that that we think these cabins are excellent value for money and would happily stay again in the future.
