We find this will tell to be wonderful and when you walk out the door and turn to your Left you see the Lake. This is a place where you go to get away from the hustle and bustle of life in its craziness. It is so relaxing. So if you're coming to relax enjoy the good food that isn't there a surround the communities then this is an awesome place to stay. I'm extremely particular where I stay at this place is going through a face lift right now and it is super clean. Yes it's older but it is so clean the bathroom as a nice size the kitchenette area is a very nice size with a microwave and a refrigerator. To be honest I don't know if the Room stove worked I was happy to go out and eat at the local areas and I'm very blessed to have a brother who lives here so I could go to his house. But like I said if you're looking for strong Wi-Fi it you're gonna complain about that and I want giant flat screens well you're gonna have to get an AIRBNB. AND you're gonna have to pay a lot of money big $$$ for it. This place is a good value. There are renovating it keeping its country style so be patient please. There are great seating areas outside to get up in the morning and have a nice cup of coffee and enjoy the Lake. The staff is super friendly & accommodating. I will definitely stay here again.

I strongly recommend to avoid this property and read some other people's reviews( not written by…read morethe owner herself and her friends) - (Expedia, Google, Tripadvisor and booking.com). This property by no means should be listed and offer accommodations. It is a huge HEALTH HAZARD! Everything what could be broken - is broken. It is infested with cockroaches and bed bugs. Fridge was last cleaned decades ago - you cannot open it without suffocating. Toilet is not cleaned, nor even flushed! They do not change bedsheets. Bed sheets are dirty as somebody slept on them in dirty boots. Bed is full of somebodies hair. Windows are not closing, screens are all broken. Entrance door is so flimsy - it can be opened by light push. As this motel is in a remote area along the highway and there are no administration on site - it is simply not safe! Motel's policy is ridiculous: once you open the door (programmable lock) - it is considered you have checked-in, and there is no refund. But you can only see this despair condition after you enter the room, not before! Feels like a trap for unsuspecting tourists. It is a real damp! I could not force myself to stay there an extra minute, at 8PM I ended up in the middle of the country without place to sleep, and continue my trip overnight and drive 300 miles to Las Vegas in the middle of the night. P. S. Response to the owner's response: Should I say more? Owner's response and pictures I have attached speak for themselves better than any words! She is the same low class as her property. The only person who might find this property liveable is a convicts on parole. At least, they would be speaking with the owner the same language. But as SOON as I walked into the room (#4), I was smitten. There is a palpable 'peace' here. It had everything we wanted; a CLEAN spotless room, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, peace and quiet, quality cotton sheets AND a mesmerizing 50s TIME WARP! Bottled water, and other treats were also available. There is a resident, skunk named 'Princess', who pals around with the local cats at night. She has never sprayed anyone (said the departing 'Music Club' members. . . they ought to know, right?). Then after being informed, the HIGHLIGHT of my stay, was IMMEDIATELY seeing her at the bottom of the stairs! The room was cozy and the kitchenette allowed for us to cook and eat in when we didn't feel like dining out. The staff were friendly and informative whenever we inquired about anything. Tamara was kind and welcoming when we arrived. When we went to extend our stay Matt blew us away with his willingness to accommodate and pull strings to get us a new room because ours had an upcoming reservation. They offer rooms w kitchenettes and family rooms however dogs arent allowed in those. We also rented rooms that accommodate up to 2 dogs per room. Rooms were a little older looking but i kinda enjoyed that it adds the whole rustic woodsy feel. They give u plenty of towels and they also have a pool and ice machine on premises. The rooms all have their own patio to chill and they have a large shaded grass area w bbq pits. I look forward to my next stay here

There was a mix up with the rooms being cleaned but it was worked out quickly. Everything we needed was quickly supplied. All of the staff were friendly, prompt and helpful. The Lodge is in a great location, within walking distance (2 mins) of a fully stocked supermarket, and 1 minute to the brewery. The cabin and room we had were clean and comfortable, with lovely comfy beds, and decent kitchen facilities. The air conditioning works well, and kept the cabin cool in the summer heat. The pool is clean and well presented. We used the gas bbq in the little garden area to cook our one night and enjoyed having them available. The outside areas could be a little cleaner and better maintained, but other that that we think these cabins are excellent value for money and would happily stay again in the future.

It's very easy to find and within reasonable walking distance to many of the local stores and eateries of Kernville. I'm not typically one to stay in my room all day although the nice AC makes it tempting. We were able to go up to the mountains the entire day and come back and jump in the pool at Whispering Pines. The pool is very clean with a gorgeous unobstructed view of the mountains. The front office staff were very kind and friendly and quickly checked us in to our room. We stayed in room #103 which is very cozy with a kitchenette. The room was nice and clean and we even had a deck out the back door to look and listen to nature. There's no real designated parking spots for individual rooms so it's first come, first served. It gets very hot in Kernville so I would highly suggest parking in the few precious spots in front of the pool fence which give more shade throughout the day. We stayed for a motorcycle camping event (Frandy Campgrounds ) this time around…read more Although the reservation wasn't made by me- my friend noticed once the event dates were released, other properties were booked via their websites. As with Riverview Lodge. Then she snooped around Expedia and found some availability. Woo hoo! We've stayed in Kernville a few times already, and with the proximity to Frandy Campgrounds and places to eat and the grocery store, super duper close. We arrived the day before festivities began (Thursday) and got situated. It's a first come, first served parking situation. And if you got the rooms closer to the river, you can utilize the paved driveway and head on down. She booked a double queen room. Our bed was so comfy, it was easy to fall asleep. The AC blows so much cold air (don't mind the noise from it). But, since we picked the bed closest to the AC unit, I think hubby unplugged it the second night & we propped the window next to us for a fresh breeze. Since my friend checked us in, she told us coffee's available in the morning. I don't recall her telling me what times coffee is served. So, on the second day- I lazily walked into the coffee area at 6am and was disappointed there was nothing. Then, I walked into at 6:30am and the coffee pots with a variety of flavored creamers were available. When I went back for coffee around 10am- everything was put away. Womp womp womp. *Some friendly advice- perhaps staff can post a note in the coffee room what time coffee hours are. That way it gives customers a chance to plan ahead. It's a no frills property. You get a TV with cable (we watched MTV the entire time). Strong water pressure in the bathroom sink and shower. Toiletries you'd expect from Motel 6. So, if you're dead set on something specific, bring your own. There was a fake flower vase set on one of the tables in the room and a fake flower arrangement in the bathroom. Both have a thick blanket of dust on them, that if you knocked into it or slightly touched it- thick dust bunnies just cascade. At this point, just throw away the fake flowers. It would suck if a customer has allergies. I'm sure something can be found at the dollar store in Lake Isabella. Good sized mini fridge and microwave available. And the chairs placed outside your front door, are a great way to just chill in the shade and inhale that fresh air. Along the river, Riverview Lodge has an area with fire pits and logs you can burn. I saw corn hole boards propped up behind one of the cabins closest to the water.

It is rustic, old-fashioned, and outdated, in need of updating. Locks are turnkey. Extremely clean, but very basic. It was odd to have a refrigerator, microwave, dishes, and cups, but no silverware/cutlery. No coffee muffin, etc. We arrived around 6 PM and nobody was in the office, but our key was stuck with Scotch tape to the door with our name. Only got to enjoy the swimming pool for about 20 minutes, unfortunately, because it closes early as soon as the outside lights come on. There is a bizarre attention to detail-- almost OCD characteristic-- highly specific signs all over the place as posted below. Summary: for $250 a night it's reasonable. But nothing special. I would've liked to have interacted with an employee and I really think the sign on the pool is grotesque and should be removed.
