After that, she clipped part of the nail and said very vaguely that it was something she "might need in case there were issues with insurance approvals." At no point did she explain that 1.) this was a prerequisite for oral medication prescription, 2.) that the biopsy would result in additional charges, or 3.) that the sample would be sent to an outside lab for pathology testing. In fact, the way it was presented to me made it seem like I did not have a choice. Fast forward to today when I received nearly $400 in additional bills due to the nail biopsy and pathology lab testing. Mind you, Dr. Iwu had already determined my condition, so the biopsy and lab testing were not medically necessary. When I spoke with her after receiving the bill, she insisted she had explained the reason behind the biopsy (NOT TRUE) and how dare I question her. She also told me I "should have known" the sample would be sent to a lab. I am sorry, but last time I checked, I am not a medical professional, so why would or should I know this? Clear communication and asking for informed consent are the doctor's responsibility - not the patients. What's most disappointing is that despite acknowledging the situation as confusing, Dr. Iwu refused to work with me in any way on the bill. TRUST ME -- AVOID HER OFFICE AT ALL COSTS!! The 2 years I was there, we did not receive parent training. This is my first go round with autism and I did not know that parent training is something we were supposed to receive. The environment is sterile looking and the kids do not go outside. One day I brought my son inside and the therapist took him to the bathroom and if it wasn't for me my kid would have sat in another kids urine. My sons classroom was dirty and riddled with chips. These were the chips he ate the day prior. My son's underwear from the day prior were thrown on the floor and his snacks were in the bathroom. Jen, of of the owners, was sooo excited to tell me how my son was doing such an amazing job, come to find out she got my son mixed up with the other black kid there. I told the other owner shauna that my son's schedule needed to change to accommodate PT. She asks me why does he need PT? She thinks he's fine. The just incorporated circle time. Also, my son should have been getting 40 hours a week - Shauna could never give a clear reason why he did not get 40 hours. My son was never offer to go to the other location that has more verbal kids. My son started mimics sounds of the other children that could not get verbalize their needs. The had a lice outbreak 2 different times in two consecutive weeks. I did not get an email from the owner the first time-I found out through a person on staff. Come to find out, the kid gave it to the therapist and the therapist without know gave went to the other location. They never shut down the center to clean it. Instead, they made the therapist check for lice. When I told the owner I was keeping him out because I do not want my child to get lices, she in an around about way suggests me to put gel in my sons hair. They are both tone deaf and unyielding-the should not be owners if they don't want to deal with parents. They play favorites and do not help all parents. I have had to assist other parents crying in the parking lot due to money troubles. There was an incident when a therapist almost backed his car into a child. They did not send out a notice to parents about the dangers of leaving their children unattended. This school says it's a private school but they are not. They hoard information and are not friendly.

I have multiple graduate degrees in educational psychology and very much feel like both doctors are highly trained and educated. Diagnosis for both children was accurate, well informed and took into consideration teacher observation, parent observation and in house documentation working directly with both children.

She is an empathetic listener and ask thought provoking questions. Questions that made me not only think but seeing a situation from a variety of angles. She is extremely helpful. She helped me identify my issues while being supportive and still challenging to keep me moving in the right direction. Dr.Brigman also counsels my eleven year old as he navigates his way through his parents' divorce. She meets him at his level. For his first session I sat in on the session by my sons' request. After the first visit she had his trust and he meet with him alone. She is helping him navigate his world. I recommend her highly to work with you and your family.
