On public land, totally legal. Sarah, the manager at the library told him he wasn't wanted and he must be at least 50 feet away, across the street. He respectfully told her that he was on public land and that he was fine were he was. She sent security out to tell him to leave. He stayed. A gaggle of 'Karens' came out to tell him how wrong he was and one called 911, lying to the operator by saying he was getting loud, though he was the quietest one there. The police came, and informed the library staff that they were wrong and that Jeff was right, that he didn't have to leave just because they didn't like the way he looked or his message, 'God Bless Homeless Vets'. Betcha none of them served our country as they look down upon others who have. Maybe they should read the Constitution there at the library. You embarrassed yourself, Sarah, for all to see. Actually part of St Augustine, it is somewhat isolated from the city and is on Anastasia island A library that is very mundane and boring seen from the outside, it becomes simply stunning once you start to look around the interior. Incredible birdhouses, lighthouses, fantastic scenes of indigenous birds and wildlife and other incredible works of art are everywhere. The kid's room is a wonderful place where young imaginations can run wild. Sure the library has books and computers but it is the art and decor that makes this library very, very special. An ordinary place for books that was turned into a very, very cool place to walk slowly and see unique things that will stimulate and excite.

Being a stay at home mom, it can be hard to find activities to take your child to and even just getting out the house is a mission. I'm so grateful for this awesome community event. This location is near and dear to my heart, because it is located on Tower Road and in a close proximity to Gainesville's best schools and many families of various nationalities that use the library space in an amazing way, as a community center for learning. Tower Branch Library is also very unique because of the free language exchange program they offer. At the time, I was able to volunteer as an English language tutor to a wonderful group of Korean and Mandarin speaking adults. Along the way, making many lifetime friends and acquaintances. Also, learning some Korean in the process. As you can see, I HIGHLY recommend their language exchange program at this location. It is a rare find. Many people that I have talked to say that public libraries are a daycare center for the homeless, aging, and children. At this location, that is very far from the truth. This is the best community based, learning environment library that I have been to. The management and librarians at this location are so down-to-earth, kind, and organized. I was blown away by their professionalism throughout the year that I volunteered there. The Alachua County Library district is funded in many ways, but I do notice the public library fee on my family's monthly escrow property payment. It is not that much per month and is totally worth it.

I went to the front desk with my ID and asked for a card, and I got so much more!! Not only can I get books of fiction amd non-fiction loaned to me for a whole month, I can get audio books and books online as well! There is so much information out there, and all you have to do is pick your favorite subject and take a deep dive. The front desk librarians were so polite and informative! I was actually excited, almost as if I won some kind of lottery! I am so happy woth my bird books and my books helping me learn Mandarin. I can't wait to read them! I grew up coming to this library with my granny and my mom. However, this library is a far cry from…read morewhat it used to be. I decided to catch up on some work and went into the study room, which was pretty empty and nice to be in. The room was filled with high ceilings and multiple tables and outlets for charging laptops or phones. There were only a few people in there so that was very nice. It also has a view of the outdoor area, which was nice to look at since it was a beautiful day. Onto the main part of the library, there are a lot of homeless or displaced people that frequent the library and utilize the services. There is a security guard that is walking around to ensure the safety of people. One thing I really like about this library and comparison to other county libraries are that they have great signage and labeling for the different sections like nonfiction or fiction. I wanted to check out a book however it was not available at this location. I was able to place it on hold for a location closer to my home very easily. Since this is the headquarters, they have a vast amount of books and resources but the library itself is very outdated. If I'm on this side of town, I would stop back to the library to utilize their study room since it's a quiet area and I was able to get work done while I was there.

He was allowed to stay and continue using the computers while me and my friend were stuck here. (I had to wait for her mom with her in fear of her safety.) Willowbranch Library is my favorite, hands down, of all the Duval County library branches. It's…read moregorgeous on the outside and the cathedral ceilings and wooden bookshelves on the inside make you almost think you've gone back in time. We call it The Little Library that CAN! It has books (of course), cds, dvds, magazines, computers for research and internet, free wifi, a lovely children section, a meeting room, clean bathrooms, and an elevator. Thanks to the inter-library loan system (brilliant!) you can order any book in the county and have it delivered to your branch for you to pick up (and drop off). In other words, if they don't have it, they should be able to get it for you! The parking lot is small (and on Wednesday nights, full of people attending the church across Cherry Street (grr)) but you can park on Cherry Street and near the ball park without a problem. Plenty of bike space for those who want to ride here.

Last night I attended a 6PM meeting and it was quite organized. Desktop computers can be used as well and there is a time limit for 1 hour browsing. What an incredible first experience at the Bartram Trail Branch! My family and I recently moved to…read moreFlorida, and from the moment we walked through the doors, every single person we interacted with was kind, welcoming, and genuinely eager to help. They didn't just answer our questions, they went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. A very special shoutout to Alex. I always get a little nervous telling people we're new to Florida because everything is unfamiliar, but Alex made us feel right at home. She was unbelievably patient, warm, and just an all-around amazing person. You can tell she truly loves helping people, and that kind of service is rare. If there were a way to write a letter to her manager, the library board, or even the Chamber of Commerce recognizing how wonderful she is, I absolutely would. Employees like Alex make a lasting impression and are the reason people keep coming back. Thank you to everyone at the Bartram Trail Branch for making our family feel so welcome. Paperbacks are $2 and hard covers are $3. Can't beat that! The librarians are so nice and helpful. And they have great areas to sit and read or study as well. It is definitely one of my favorite libraries in the area! And bonus - right now they're decorated for the 250th anniversary of America. So fun.
