Beautiful park with a very attentive Ranger. Would give 5 stars but the Ranger on duty shooed us away as we were sitting in the day use shelter bird watching. Having literally stumbled across Keystone State Park, we drove over the dam and parked the car on the dam's downstream side. After walking all the way to the dam's base, we were impressed with what we saw. Tip: We saw a good number of large birds here, including pelicans and herons Over and above the dam and the birds, there's not a whole lot else to see here. I'd suggest if you want some good hiking and views that you visit the Ancient Forest instead. read more

We rented a cabin for a one-night getaway. The check-in process was simple and efficient, and the person who answered the phone was extremely friendly and professional. For a very reasonable price, our cabin was clean, and the bed was comfortable. It was our first time to visit, and the grounds were beautifully manicured and clean. It would have been the perfect respite if our stay hadn't been spoiled by park staff the next morning. EARLY. We had stayed up late, socializing with friends, and planned to sleep in. But around 6 am, we were jolted awake by park workers in the adjoining unit, apparently doing maintenance. VERY LOUD. After waking up to a heart-stopping crash of some kind, we heard what sounded like drilling, construction, repair. Our car was in the driveway, so it was obvious our unit was occupied. Their project was completed in about 30 minutes, but there was no going back to sleep at that point. Disappointing. read more

We were so very impressed with our stay at this park that as we were leaving to head to Kansas I had to stop at the office and let the employees know. I spoke to Lindsey who was so nice, and there was also a park ranger present. I let all the employees know how impressed we were with the park, its beauty and cleanliness. They were so gracious! I visited the store in the office, and it was so cutely designed, well-stocked, and had lots of selection regarding souvenirs and snacks at very decent prices. There are maps located on the outer part of the building and you can rent lockboxes as well. This is a dog friendly park that had a number of walking trails and tables for fun! We went to see the leaves change and we were pleasantly surprised with all of the trees here! It backs up to an "ancient forest"! Everything was easy to find and there were a few parks buildings with easy access to facilities if needed. It appears to be a nice lake as well, even though we didnt do much beyond enjoying the view while hiking! read more

We usually go to Robber's Cave each year but we found Keystone on Groupon. We spent $103.00 for two nights during off season. The check-in was quick and easy. They have a cute gift shop with some easily forgotten about groceries. Our first impression of the cabin was- holy cow it is so clean!! Robber's Cave never smells or looks so clean. These rooms feel nice and you don't have to worry about anything. They have everything you need in the kitchen and we didn't have to buy anything additional besides paper towels. We climbed down to the lake as soon as we got here and it was gorgeous. Barely any trash, which is unavoidable with jerks who cannot clean up after themselves. As far as things to do on-site: not so much. It is off season, so we totally understand. We still enjoyed the views and saw five different species of birds. Sand Springs has great grocery stores if you want to make dinner like we did, and fast food places if that's your gig. Tulsa is a quick drive if you're looking for something a little fancier for entertainment. We highly enjoyed our stay. read more

FOR THOSE ONLY USING THE BOAT RAMP. $10 CHARGE for a boat ramp that has NO DOCK, so good luck if it's just you going by yourself. Plus it will take you nearly 20 minutes just to get out of the NO WAKE zone before you can get out on the lake. The ramp is at the end of a long cove with a large marina in it. Keystone Lake is a nice lake but I would avoid using this boat ramp when there are much better, and cheaper places, with a boat dock, to put in all around the lake. read more

We have camped at Keystone State Park in Green Country every year for several years but our experience on 10/18/2023 ended our ever returning. There were other campers encroaching our campsite, literally on our site. The groups they allowed to camp there reminded me of Sanford and Son, there was no room for my camper slide-out! We requested help from the park ranger and from the person working in the office, and they were very rude. This park never used to be this way, very disappointed on who they've become. My friend and I have been trying to visit all 34 Oklahoma State Parks. Keystone State Park is great because it is the closest park to the city of Tulsa. Highlights include a closed state park that you can still access called Walnut Creek. There are great hammocking spots right along the beach. The Keystone Ancient Forest is also great. I recommend following them on Facebook so that you can catch an open hike day. Make sure you grab a state park passport and a sticker from the office so that you can mark this one off your list! read more

Am updating and adding a information about cabin rental. There are 2 specialty cabins for only 2 people and no pets, duplex cabins, 2 bedroom cabins and 1, 3 bedroom cabin. They do allow pets in some of the cabins. I rented a 2 bedroom cabin with a view of the dam. There were lots of windows looking into the lake and trees. They have military and senior discount. My cabin had central heat and air, very cozy. Fireplace, deck in back with picnic bench. There is a picnic bench and grill below the cabin. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, flatware and cooking supplies, dish towels and hot pads. There is a coffee pot, microwave, toaster, stove with oven and full size refrigerator. The place is in good shape, except the bath tub tile could use some attention. They supply soap, shampoo, towels. If you want new linen, you put your old linen in a container by the parking lot, they will leave you new. They have a can for ashes from the fireplace. Felts Grocery store in Mannford is pretty close and has everything you need, including firewood! read more

I guess by Okie standards this is a great place to swim and camp. I come from New England and camp in the white mountains and am used to Crystal clear water and sandy beaches. This location was mostly quiet until more local cowboys showed up liquored up more than jack sparrow (pirates of the Caribbean)...the were loud and rude...we slowly backed away and got the neck out as we heard the banjo music playing. This is a great park for introducing small children to camping and hiking! It is very clean, we saw park staff cleaning bathrooms and cutting the grass and weeds along the campsites. There was also a park ranger that patrolled the area and drove around quite often. We camped (with an RV and tent) at the lower lake country in the green country area. When the park is busy, you will have close neighbors. During the weekdays we were completely on our own and it was great! If you choose this area you will have trees for shade and be close to both hiking trails, the swimming area, and a playground. The playground was modern with swings, round about things and stuff to climb. The swim area is rocky, but I would take rocky over broken glass any day. There was no broken glass to be seen here...yay! There are picnic tables and if you forgot your floatation device there are some there. The two hiking trails are very easy, great for beginner hikers. The Deer Trail is gravel and very flat. If you needed, you could use a stroller in this trail. The Ranger trail, which has an entrance at the visitor/gift store, is easy with a few rocky areas. This trail also has a small children's pond where the young ones can learn to fish. If you want harder trails, ask the rangers in the information center for recommendations, I know there are some nice ones in the nearby areas of this park. Overall, we enjoyed our time here. read more

The park is awesome. We bring our RV here from time to time and stay on the hill in Lake Country. Spots are wonderful. Holiday weekends can be noisy but that is to be expected. Not the parks fault. We do a lot of hiking more so than RV'ing. The trailed are very good. Our favorite is the Ranger Trail which is a mile long and two laps does our puppy in. Lol. Me too. Just a great resource for getting outside and enjoying Oklahoma. All year round. read more

This park was the worst experience i've had at a state park. The rangers are joke they are never there when they are needed but are there to cause you problems. There is a lot of freeloaders at this park. They come around 8pm and leave around 7am because there is no park rangers there. The freeloaders make a mess out of the restrooms and the park. The maintenance crew doesn't do anything to improve the park. Neither does the restroom, shower employees. They all just want the job so they can stay at the park for free. They just sit around smoking pot and drinking. The showers and restrooms have to be cleaned by yourself before you can use them they are full of mildew. They way they tried to fix the mildew when I complained was put caulk over it. That doesn't fix the issue. Plus when they don't want to clean the restrooms they just lock them up and say they are unavailable without telling any of the campers. We stayed there for a couple of months and had the restrooms closed a total of 8 times. They didn't bother telling us so we had to go without a shower for days. We paid for the amenities and wasn't able to use them so they should of given us a refund. They just laughed at us when we asked for one. Plus the ladies at the store said they didn't even know they were closed. No one is on the same page at this park and don't act like they even want to be there other then just to have a free place to live. I would not recommend this place unless you want to be harassed by they employees and don't want a clean shower or restroom. read more

The first night we were here, we camped in Green Country. The guy next to us shouted obscenities on a blow horn with a siren from early afternoon until late at night. My kids are 6 and 8 and didn't need to hear him drunkenly announcing how sexy his wife is or shouting for his kids to get their ass to base camp because he was letting them wander about and could apparently only locate them with the use of a blow horn. We called the park ranger. They came and left and the same scenario resumed. By 8:00 pm, when our kids were trying to sleep, he was turning up Slob On My Knob to max volume. The next morning, we asked if we could move to Low Country. The signs said "no ground fires." We asked if it was okay to have a fire in our own above ground fire pit and the answer was "Of course." We had a fire for two hours when the park ranger showed up and told us that this was considered a ground fire and we had been told incorrect information by the park office and they were calling in the Fire Marshall to put out the fire. We have stayed here for over 10 years and will never return. I do not appreciate being treated like this after explicitly asking permission and trying to make sure we were following the rules ! read more

The Rangers were present driving through the park quite often which was nice for me since my party consisted of a group of ladies. Added security for us. i need to go sailing more. it's good for mental health. being out on the lake, it can get your mind off things. a lot of people be out there racing their boats, it's entertaining. hopefully i can catch the lake on a day where it's not as windy. they also have an area that has 2 floors where you can chill &/or have a cookout. definitely a spot for the summer & spring. read more

This is a nice place to spend a day surrounded by peaceful nature of Oklahoma. I feel like there should be more signs directing where certain places or views are in strategic places to make sure the park is fully appreciated. Walking by the dam provides nice views as well. read more

Very nice layout, several camping options, nicely priced. Their playground for kids in the Lake Country area is awesome. Unique apparatus I have never seen anywhere. We really enjoyed this park. It's very beautiful and very wooded, but it would be hard to see the lake from most of the cabins when the leaves are out. Fortunately, we went in April when the leaves were not out and we could see the lake from our cabin. Unfortunately, it was terribly windy so we couldn't do much outdoors. We stayed in a cabin and would've had a fire in the fireplace (since we brought our own wood) but there were no matches nor was there a poker--only a fireplace broom. Sadly, there are no fire rings for cabin users. There are also no ice trays so you have to buy ice from the park store, no trivets for hot pans to sit on, no broiler pans to cook your steaks on since it was too windy for us to cook outside, and no scrubbers to clean pots and pans. Also, be prepared to bring your own paper towels. There was a toaster but no mixer or whisk. There is a coffeemaker that uses mr coffee-like filters, but none were provided. Having said that, it was a wonderful family get together, but I will definitely be bringing those items with me next time and hope this posting will help others in planning what to bring. read more
