We all arrived before the event started, and we're greeted quickly considering how busy the place was getting. The restaurant itself has a fun vibe in my opinion, with much Australian themed decor. It was cozy at our table and not crowded given how many groups were there to play the trivia. My friend and I split an order of 18 wings and a side of sweet potato fries. We got three different styles, American bbq, Mexican, and German. All were very good in their own way, but surprisingly I liked the German style the best. It was sweet (honey mustard base) but refreshingly different as it was mixed with dill. I could just get a plate of those wings and be very happy. The sweet potato fries were also very good. They came out hot, fresh, and didn't need any extra sauce to enjoy them. As for drinks, I got the Felix felicies (it was Harry Potter themed trivia), which was sparkling wine mixed with ginger beer and a lime. It was quite refreshing and I enjoyed it so much that I had two (though they did not bring me any luck with the trivia). I would love to come back here another time to just enjoy some drinks and food with friends. The trivia was extremely fun and made us really think that evening, but I'd say it went about an hour too long. As working adults, being at the bar until 10:15 when the trivia ends, waiting until 10:45 to pay (because they card readers broke), and then not getting home until 11:30 or later makes getting up at 6 the next morning difficult. Three hours of trivia seemed like a lot compared to other trivias I've attended, but it was still fun all the same. I highly recommend this place. I had the Bronx Jon burger, which has cheese and mushrooms. I appreciated that when I asked the server how she preferred the burger, she was willing to discuss and still let me order it medium well. I know. I knew I also wanted beer and she also patiently answered my questions about the house beer and another, darker one from a local brewery. I chose the house beer. When I received the check, I appreciated that I wasn't charged for the second beer, because I technically ordered it during the happy hours (applicable to those seated at the bar). The burger was good and so was the service. I'm glad to have tried The Bird in both Berlin and Hamburg.

Bearing a pretty poor stomach for almost a week in mind, I decided to choose from the menu, beginning with a chinese mushroom soup with chicken. Great choise! Delicious and tasty. We had cold dishes to start, glass noodles, cold meats, tofu & garlic, etc. That wasn't really my thing, but each successive course brought better and better food. One course brought some really great prawns. They were messy to eat, but delicious. After the two (or three, I forget) main courses came some amazing soup, and after that we got one small sweet dish. I'm not exactly sure what it was, but it seemed like dates covered in dough, rolled in sesame seeds. The best chinese food I've had in Hamburg (Ok, I've not really had much chinese food, but still :)
