A ton of $$$ and it was horrible!!! The chicken nuggets were completely dried out, it was like eating jerky!!! Most of the 10 pack were the size of a dime! They didn't give any sauce with it... The potato poppers are powder potatoes which are supposed to have a gravy but it didn't! The chicken pieces were not crunchy just greasy!!! So gross it was like an oil slick! Been a long time fan of their original recipe. I never really cared for the extra crispy. Plenty more flavor in the original recipe. But, chicken can be messy. Now they've got original recipe chicken strips. All white meat. Absolutely terrific and no mess. Two fingers in a napkin and you're good to go. Great. My new go to product, thanks. read more

Not trying to brag or nothing but I hold a PhD in KFC and a Master's in Mashed Potatoes so it should come as no surprise to anyone that I sure do like to enjoy some Extra Crispy Fried Chicken with ALL the Fixings from my Alma Mater the one and only "University of Kentucky Fried Chicken" every once in a while.    Currently there are just a few of these Legendary Institutions left and in my expert opinion that's a crying shame because everyone needs a little KFC in their life sometimes, and it doesn't matter who you are or what your academic level is.    This particular location has a convenient drive thru window which comes in handy whenever the KFC cravings take hold. Every time I come here there is always something new and not in a good way. Came this time to order a bucket and was told in the drive-thru that they are only taking orders inside, because they are short staffed. Wouldn't it make sense (especially since we are the only customers) to take the order from the drive-thru, ask us to park and come in when the order is filled (5/10 mins). Went to KFC in Rockaway for dinner tonight. This has to be the absolute worst chicken I have ever had. Chicken was so overcooked and dried out. The skin you could have broken a tooth on. When you bite into a piece of chicken, it should be moist and juicy. This was not. Had a pot pie that was totally dry and had the consistencyofmashedpotatoes. I can see why everyone is going to Popeyes for their chicken. The service is slow at best, and you're not able to order at the counter any longer. You must order from a kiosk using a credit card. The door to enter the store has a vacuum lock, making it almost impossible to open the door. This is why I would not recommend this establishment and will spend my hard earned money elsewhere. read more

If I could give a 0 star, I would :( Bought a 8 piece bucket meal including biscuits, mashed potato and fries, 5 piece Nashville tenders and 1 spicy chicken sandwich from this KFC. Total was $42, more expensive than Popeyes. Extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. First of all, the biscuits were inedible, extremely hard as rocks, please see the picture. The drumsticks were raw with blood in them, my daughter threw up eating them. The thighs were very dry and hard, skins were so hard they were inedible. The chicken in the sandwich was super dry and hard too, couldn't eat more than 2 bites. Overall we couldn't finish 20% of the food and had to spend more money to get something else to fill our stomach. I called the restaurant to let them know the chicken and biscuits were not edible, the woman on the phone was very rude and said she admit the biscuits were hard when she packed them but the chicken should be fine. Why would you pack them if you knew they weren't good? Have some human decency and don't give people garbage please. It's already hard enough during the pandemic, it's really terrible to feed kids rock hard food when they were excited about eating fried chicken, and got so disappointed and even threw up. I seldom eat at KFC since I too had a less than positive experience at this particular outlet. However, when I worked in Ramsey, they had a very nice KFC nearby and I learned to like the extra crispy white meat lunch. One night last December I tried them again, having a yen for their two piece white meat dinner (mashed and cole slaw). The food was good - on par with the food I was getting at the Ramsey franchise. My wife and I ate there about a month later and she enjoyed her meal too. Last night, we stopped in and the counter man, Larry, helped me place my order and he even showed me a way to get what I wanted and save about $4 ! Thanks Larry. Three meals in three months - all good. They have a good attitude and deliver a good product. Give them a try, you may find what I have - they are trying hard to deliver quality. It's been a while since my last review since I've not been here recently. Today I had a craving for KFC original recipe tenders, coleslaw and mashed potatoes and gravy so I ordered online and drove the seven miles to pick it up. Only problem- no record of my order (and not on my phone as I ordered from my iPad at home). Since I had to order again I decided to park and go in. I went to use the kiosk only to find out I couldn't get the same deal in the store. I tried to order online inside the store only to find the only stores that came up for my location were in NYC - go figure. I went outside to my car and was able to log in at my correct location and get the online special. I went back inside and my order was ready in about two minutes so I drove home. As soon as I arrived home I immediately took a tender out only to find it was as tough as jerky -- not exaggerating! I set down to take everything out of the box: 5 piece tenders, mashed potatoes, coleslaw, biscuit-- where are my sauce packets? Ok, time to eat, took another tender out -- just as tough and dry as the first. I guess KFC has done away with original recipe -- I'm sure my mistake for not keeping up with changes. I took a sip of Pepsi to help swallow the bite only to find it so dilute as to be unappetizing. It was only about a five minute drive home and the cashier filled the cup in front of me so I know it wasn't from ice melt. Apparently the Pepsi dispenser is adjusted for very little syrup At least the coleslaw was good though not packed into the small container. Mashed potatoes and gravy would have been good if the came with more than about a quarter of a teaspoon of gravy! Time for the biscuit even though there was no gravy to dip it in. I could tell the biscuit was goin to crumble to pieces so I carefully sawed it in half with a sharp serrated steak knife and placed two butter patties on each side along with some strawberry jam and placed in the microwave for a couple of minutes. This at least made it edible. (Come on KFC - you used to be able to do this. How about cooking tenders to order -- it only takes a couple of minutes-- Chic-fil-A seems to make it work! And biscuits? Maybe make them fresh a couple of times a day - or hold the under a steam cover-- or just maybe give the biscuit a quick shot of steam before serving. Lots of work needed here. Worst KFC I've been to. I only live 1/8 mile from here, so I wish it was better. I won't go back, though, as too many times the food was overdone and dried out. They never have salt & pepper at the counter or on the tables. Because people steal them? Well, at least put salt and pepper out at the counter then. I bought 12 pieces of chicken bucket and they didn't put drumstick. None. Nada. No drumstick at all. And they never told me. And put so many wings. What the hell? And I also sled chicken were fresh. Cashier lady said they are very fresh. And they won't fresh at all. I could easily tell it's old. This place is getting so so to worse. Was craving KFC and sent my wife to the Rockaway store and got a bucket of extra crispy chicken. The first wing I ate had no meat and all extra hard batter. I move on to a thigh hoping for better results and again the meat was dry as hell and they were right, extra hard crispy batter. Looking at the rest of the bucket and finding the same results the whole bucket wound up in the garbage. If the place was closer I would have brought that bucket back personally! My first time at this location, not sure why there are poor ratings, maybe I just came at a really good time. I only ever go to KFC because I love their mashed potatoes, and this place didn't let me down. The place is clean, the only thing is that the staff behind the counter are sometimes inattentive (noticed this with other customer interactions) but other than that I was pretty happy. Stay away! Ate inside and witnessed the worker mopping and carelessly dragging the dirty mop over the table and saw garbage fall right on to the table and letting the dirty wet mop hit the tables. This concerns an experience I had with this KFC back in September. Despite numerous calls to their hotline, and the promise to escalate my concerns to higher-ups, I've heard NOTHING from them or this store in particular...so I guess it's time to put them on blast. Below is my original submission to their website: Overall, one of, if not the worst, fast food experience I've ever had. Considering the price that was paid for everything (8 piece meal with 2 sides and 4 biscuits, and 10 piece spicy hot wings) was about $34, I would expect substantially better quality. The chicken was the complete opposite of crispy. It was soggy and rather bland. Who knows how long it was laying around. I equate it to a microwavable chicken dinner. The biscuits, wow.... Pillsbury in the oven would have been a vast improvement. They were overall very bready and dense. The sides...we had mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and cole slaw. The cole slaw was just OK. The mac and cheese had an off flavor. And, the mashed potatoes? They tasted like instant potatoes. I imagine someone pouring a gallon of water into a 5 gallon bucket of this stuff to reconstitute it. The gravy tasted straight out of a can. Everything was absolutely horrible, overall. Not that I'm a huge fan of Popeyes, but compared to this meal, it would be like eating at a 5 star restaurant. Not to mention the price! At the Popeyes that I used to live near in Wayne, there was an offer for 13 pieces, 6 biscuits, and 2 sides that came to about $22. Essentially I paid about a third more for less food that was of a quality that shouldn't be served in prison. I do NOT want KFC certificates as compensation, I would like a total refund for this excuse of a meal. Of course, I would be happy to speak to whomever over the phone to reiterate all of this. The fact that I've taken the time to type all of this should prove how serious I am. I can honestly say that I will NEVER get food from KFC again. read more

We went to KFC in Rockaway Nj on Sunday 12/2 at 4:00 pm for 2 chicken pot pies. The manager said we are out of them. He then says "Oh you have to come in the morning to get pot pies and they take a long time to cook." Really!!! Who wants a pot pie in the am and it wasn't even dinner time yet, which meant he wasn't planning on making any for dinner time customers. Wont return there. read more
