We recently tried this new Indian restaurant with family, and overall it was a great experience. My only complaint is the menu. Why do some restaurants make menus so big? It felt like a huge book, and we spent quite a bit of time flipping through pages trying to figure out what to order. A simpler, more streamlined menu would make the experience much easier. Once we decided, though, the food and drinks did not disappoint. We started with the non-alcoholic Jamun shots, which were absolutely delicious, and a Mango Martini, which was just okay. For food, we ordered the Fish Amritsari, Paneer Tikka, Hakka noodles, Biryani, and a Falooda drink. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and well-prepared. The customer service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The atmosphere makes it a great spot for family gatherings, celebrations with girlfriends, or a fun night out. They also have several creatively named signature drinks that add a playful touch to the experience. Overall, a wonderful addition to the area, and definitely a place I would return to try more items from the menu.

Enjoyed our late lunch here - would recommend the Indo Chinese sizzler and chaat. Mango lassi was delicious and refreshing.

Came here as my friend wanted to check this out. We were so surprised with the interior setting which has very nice cultural feel and decoration. They offer huge selection of northern & southern Indian as well as indo-Chinese dishes. Tried their Hakka noodle with taste better with their chili sauce mixin, the potato dosa was good and the veggie Manchurian meatball was a little on chewy side but equally tasty. You get option to have it in gravy or dry sauce. We opted dry sauce. Will be back to try their onion rava dosa next time as well as their selection of cocktails such as watermelon mojito which pique my curiosity.

Been here a few times. Service can be a little slow at times, but everyone is very kind and friendly. The owner is usually around and checks in with guests, which is nice. It does get pretty busy, but things move fairly quickly overall. One thing to note--ordering can sometimes feel a bit delayed, so it's best to place everything at once. The flavors are solid and feel authentic, with a lot of variety on the menu. The sizzlers are definitely a must-try. It's located in a strip mall, and they do have outdoor seating with heaters, which is a nice option.

Quick service! Extensive menu! Can here for weekday lunch. Had mixed sizzler plate, Indo Chinese vegetable lunch box, paneer balti, garlic naan, hara bhara kebab. Food wasn't as salty as other places but next time I would wait for the lamb kebab and roasted eggplant curry.

Had dinner here with friends. Good decoration and ambiance. Food was ok Drinks: Jaljira vodka was good, Cardamom old fashioned was below average, Mango madness was ok. Pani Puri vodka was not impressive Appetizers: Gobi Manchurian was good. Vaghar Idli was disappointing Mains: vegetable sizzler was really good - different paneer types, roasted cauliflower, hara Bhara kabab etc. The paper dosa was good Veg Jaipuri and Tandoori roti were ok Good experience overall but not great Service was ok

    Sizzling Brownie - yeah!

A truly standout experience from start to finish. Khaati Peeti here in Fremont immediately draws you in with its authentic Indian design from the moment you enter: the framed carpets on the walls, the beautiful arches framing each seating area, and that warm, private, almost cocoon-like atmosphere. It feels thoughtfully crafted, not staged. Loved it! The food delivered just as impressively. Every dish was enjoyable, but the lamb chops were on another level - oversized compared to your standard entree, perfectly marinated, and richly layered with Indian spices. Garlic nunn and the amount of it were enough to feed the army. At the entrance, the push bar sets the tone with an elite selection of scotches and Indian whiskeys available for purchase, which adds a premium feel right from the start. Nice. The true highlight, though, was the hospitality. Snigdha deserves a major shout-out for outstanding service. Consistently positive, attentive, and genuinely warm. And respect to Shreedhar, the owner, who stays on the floor, checks on tables, brings out the food, and creates a sense of real connection with guests. That level of presence is rare and elevates the entire experience. A few drink notes for future guests: the cardamom old fashioned was excellent, the espresso martini was rich and delicious, and the new ultramarine blue candy drink, I think, should be served as a dessert cocktail, was fun and on the sweeter side. A place worth returning to, not just for the food, but for the atmosphere and the people who make it special.

Amazing Indian food, like no other in the Bay Area. We have been looking to have this kind of Indian food forever. And we finally found it. The ambience, the taste, the service. It just checked all the boxes. And they even have have what most Indian restaurants lack. A clean restroom. We had the paneer balti and the indi Chini sizzler because they were recommended. Needless to say, they hit the right notes. And we ordered papri chat just coz... and guess what we loved that the most.. definitely definitely will go there again. The whole restaurant was smelling of the chocolate brownie sizzler but we were too full to have it, so we left it for our next visit

Good food, good ambience but a bad service. I visited this restaurant just before it was renamed from Sankalp to Khaati Peeti. The sizzlers here are pretty good. We ordered the Assorted Vegetable Barbeque Sizzler and liked it. We ordered paneer balti, malai kofta as entrees along with a side of assorted breads. Food was tasty but the service was not good. We asked them to get water multiple times but they still didn't get it. It has a nice ambiance. It is well decorated. We met the owners. They were very nice and friendly.

Absolutely loved my visit to Khaati Peeti Restaurant & Bar (formerly Sankalp Fremont)! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented -- I tried the Neon Margarita, Mix Grill Sizzler, Kaju Curry with Cheese Garlic Naan, and Sizzling Brownie, and everything was incredible. The ambiance is chic yet cozy, perfect for date nights or family dinners. Staff were friendly and attentive, and the cocktails were some of the best I've had in Fremont.

The food could have been better. The service and ambiance is good. The menu is huge and exciting, so we ordered a sizzler, pani pur, a main course and a few naan. However, after eating my first bite, I was sure this isn't the place for me. The quality of ingredients isn't there and the food is heavy on the palette. As an example, the pani puris were soggy that even my kid refuse to eat them. None were holding water, the paneer was too tight and bland, the kebabs were too dense. The only saving grace was there naan's. I did ask the server for suggestions on their best recommendations for veg. So, if it isn't good in the end, it isn't because I chose wrong. I don't think I will be visiting them again. I wouldn't know if they are good for non-veg dishes or drinks.

    Pan tini
    Laasya R.

3.5/5 We were seated quickly but the food took a long time to reach us. I loved the pan-tini ( non - alocoholic) it was not overly sweet, very fizzy refreshing drink with bits of pan leaf which was a delight when you bite into it. Mango chilli drink was awful though. Dahi puri was served quickly, it was very sweet for me. The 65 sizzler was flavourful, the chutney complimented the assortments of paneer, Gobi and veg pieces well. We had ordered garlic naan to eat with the sizzler but it was sent to us 15 min after we ate the starter. :/ Then we had to wait another 15 min munching on the cold bread while we waited for paneer balti and tandoori roti. The staff offered to take back the cold naan which was much appreciated. Paneer balti was very indulgent. It creamy and on the sweeter side. Garlic naan was delicious. I wish they served raw onion and lemon on the side though.. it would've elevated the experience for me. Will be returning to try the plethora of the options in the menu. Also, I'm very confused as the interior decoration screamed South Indian, but the menu is very mixed and focused on the sizzlers and indo Chinese , tandoor ..

Indulgent and decent enough for a small serving. *vellulli kaaram paneer-3/5- lacked salt. Paneer was softish but felt a bit chewy and hard in places. *black pepper mushroom curry- 4/5- this was my favorite dish that evening. The fragrant curry leaves, earthiness of the mushroom and the black pepper created an intoxicating combination. It was floating in excess oil but was lip smacking delicious. *chilli garlic Naan: 4.5/5: I normally don't rate naan as they are non descript but the version here was wonderful. Thin, not burnt on the downside and paired oh so well with the mushroom curry. *Egg biryani- 3.5/5- this was spicy rather than being flavorful. Since it was made with egg, I didn't mind the spice.

But the manner in which the order is taken and the way in which they bring out the sides, especially the salan for the biryani is definitely disappointing. We ordered two biryani's - an egg biryani and a chicken biryani and they brought a tiny bowl of salan, which all put together is 5 teaspoons for a table of four adults. Really!! Check 3 points: the food is tasty definitely!!! However, the only downside is that the paneer starter is not well marinated; so the masala was only on the top. The insides of the paneer was just flat and insipid!! Cleanliness is lacking, the dirty dishes are in a cart right by the booth that we sat at. So the stench was emanating. We had to ask for water twice when the jug was empty, so the keen sense of observation and customer service is lacking! Overall, a place you can go to perhaps once or twice, but don't expect good service. The food is definitely Yum.

I always told myself that if a place smells this good, the food had to be amazing too. I am so glad I finally tried it, because the food wasn't just good, it was great! I will definitely be coming back. Here is a breakdown of everything we ordered during our visit: Appetizers Chicken Lollipop (Dry): Flavorful, well-cooked, and wonderfully moist. Best of all, it had more meat and less batter than most other places, paired with a delicious dipping sauce. It has a slight, pleasant heat without burning your tongue, which is great for focusing on pure flavor. Naga's Special Apollo Fish: This was the absolute standout of the meal! It was packed with incredible flavor, featuring a fantastic mix of yogurt, curry leaves, and green chillies that hit the perfect balance of tangy, cool, and spicy. Main Entrée & Breads Butter Chicken: A wonderful, harmonious blend of sweetness and spice, leaning slightly on the sweeter side. It paired like a dream with our garlic naan. (Tip: If you prefer more heat, you can always check with the staff about customization!) Garlic Naan: Soft, perfectly cooked, and completely free of that dreaded rubbery texture. It had a generous amount of garlic, a slight crunch, and was the ideal vehicle for the butter chicken. Drinks Fresh Lime Soda (Sweet): Refreshing and crisp. You can choose between salty or sweet, and we went with sweet. Pro-tip: Make sure to stir it thoroughly before drinking, as the sweetness settles at the bottom! Service, Ambience & Practical Details Service & Ambience: There are plenty of tables, though it can get busy during peak hours.
