They are a truly welcoming community with a diverse team of rabbis who connect with everyone...interfaith families, the LGBT community, Jews by choice, etc. It's a progressive Reform synagogue that hosts many events in coordination with other faith communities. The preschool program, Small Wonders has a secular curriculum with students of all faiths as well. I had three children go through the Religious School which is the largest in the area and known for its excellence. This congregation is absolutely fantastic. The building is tucked slightly into the woods so that,…read moredespite being right on the main road it still has a tucked-away feeling. The sanctuary is beautiful, with windows on three sides, giving you a real sense of the change of seasons. While in the service you can watch the birds chirping behind the minister - or the leaves turning, or the snow falling. The sanctuary isn't temperature controlled too well, but it is enough the it is still quite pleasant. The people are amazing. The very first time I went I was welcomed with warm smiles and conversation. When I was out due to injury for a couple of weeks I had someone email me to ask if everything was okay - and they sent a get-well card! As a single person with no nearby family I was welcomed at the Thanksgiving table of one of the members (who has become a good friend). If you're looking for a welcoming home to feel like family, this is the place for you, regardless of faith, race, age or orientation.
