Parking space is available on the street, as it is on the main coventry road, near the small heath park. Reception welcome is good by the owner himself, Who also comes to the table for taking orders, and recommending speciality of the restaurant. Farsi speaking families can speak in Farsi (Persian language) or Pakhtoon language and also can speak in Urdu and english ofcourse. The waiter staff can be improved a bit, they seem less interactive with the customers. Order takes a bit time as the food is freshly prepared on order. The place has raised stage like area for traditional floor seatings or table seats for people who feel uncomfortable sitting on the floor. One thing I would say is, expect a lot of food smell to seep into your clothes, and you will stink of the food for few days, as it gets very smokey inside the restaurant. Apart from the above, no other food in Birmingham can touch the authentic food they serve at this place. Pure food as it meant to be from the heart of Afghanistan and North Pakistan, Beautiful taste. We ordered, Lamb Karahi, Chicken Karachi, Mixed grill kebabs and tikka and the big iconic Naan breads from Afghanistan, When I say Karahi, I mean Karahi as these are original karahi's not like they serve in Kashmiri restaurant where they don't even know what Karahi means. You get meat prepared by the kilos at this place. Yummy My recommendation if %100 for everyone to try the authentic afghani food as it meant to be. So if you're looking for traditional Afghan food, this is the place to be! We had some kebab, rice, chaapli kebab, fries and drinks. I definitely recommend the Special Charsi Lamb Tikka! The chaapli kebab was abit too spicy for me, but the flavours were good. The waiters were definitely kind and very helpful at all times! A minor is the menu. Before we planned on going to the restaurant, we searched some information about the restaurant. But upon arriving, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Neelam's actually serve an array of food, all coming in huge portions. After having had a couple of beers, we were more than ready for a feast, so whilst my friend ordered a kebab I decided to order a burger. Both came with a side of chips and we proceeded to sit down and devour our meals in a matter of seconds. Fairly priced and combined with a really friendly and welcoming atmosphere, the staff were as helpful as ever, so much so that I've been back, tried a kebab and can safely say, it was delicious!

The man and his staff wanted to fight me and forced me to pay for the full price of the food that was half-cooked i offered £10 for costs and told him i do not want the food. He told me i have to pay and was being very aggressive, most other people would of rang the police or fought the guy. It is my worst experience in any food place around the world. A very scary place to eat, one of the staff said if you die we will pay the funeral costs, i said no thanks i do not want to die. I then went cash point as they have no card payment due to scams and fraud. I then went back in as they held my friend hostage until i got back with the £20 and threw it on the floor and left with the manager and the staff being very aggressive, i really wanted to fight them but i kept my cool. A disturbing experience, the guys who run this place will receive so much bad luck and bad karma for their actions. His plan was to make us fight him then all of his staff gang up on us then call the police and say we started the trouble, the plan failed for him, a very bad person who should question himself and his deeds.

The service was fast and friendly, the owner and crews chatted and introduced themselves (from Pakistan), and the food is just plain glorious. Anything from the doner to the pitas and even the burger (which reminded of the Afghan burger back home in North Brunswick, NJ... LOL) are very well cooked. The sliced meat felt deliciously tender and the edgy spice completed the dance of the flavors. We got the value tikka box and had so much leftover.
