I recently did a Kitec replacement in my unit and the experience was a nightmare. The condo board did not want a full condo repair so condo owners were individually responsible for repairing and finding a contractor on their own. I went out and found a supposedly reputable Kitec replacement contractor with high standards and quality guaranteed job standards. The contractor I found is called Ki-Fix Repiping Solutions. Since the Kitec replacement, there have been numerous issues. I've sent the contractor multiple emails and called many times but NOTHING has been resolved. The fix was done on Tuesday August 21, which has given him plenty of time to resolve issues but nothing has been done, and this resulted in me paying extra money for another contractor to fix the issues that he caused. I am beyond livid as he just ignores my emails and calls and thinks this can just be brushed under the rug. From the beginning, Bob Clarke, was the main contact. He boasted about the Ki-Fix Advantage (Ki-fix-Advantage.pdf). 1. The workers did not respect the common areas outside the condo suite - drywall and paint were tracked into the hallway. The contractors did not wear plastic shoe covers during the job and tracked drywall from inside the condo to the outside surrounding areas. This issue was brought up by the property manager the first day they were on the job. The workers blatantly ignored the request and continued working as normal the second day when the property manager noticed again. The result of this was I am responsible for the costs to clean the carpet. 2. The workers did not respect or care for the areas inside the condo suite. They did not cover anything before working. There were drywall pieces on dishes in the kitchen, on the couch, beds, dust on kids toys, lamps, chairs, basically everywhere in the condo. The rooms were not closed to prevent dust from entering. The condo was covered in a layer of white dust. The condo required multiple times to get it back to the original state. 3. Their guarantee included that they will use colour-match paints. This was not the case. They replaced pipes in the ceilings of the kitchen and 2 bathrooms. All areas that they repainted they painted white and left the rest of the ceiling the original colour. The condo ceilings look like patchwork. You can see in the pictures attached - check the google review for pictures. 4. The guarantee included a cleaning team that would do a thorough cleanup when the job was complete. This was not that case as mentioned in the previous point. There was a layer of dust and no cleaning was done. I've attached a picture of 1/3 of the condo dust after it was swept 3 times already. 5. After they were done, the toilet started leaking. The leak was noticed and a container was placed underneath the drip to contain the water. I've attached a screenshot. I contacted the contractor immediately as this is an urgent issue. The contractor said he let all his contractors have the day off and no one would be coming to look at the problem. You would think the contractor would look into this immediately. Instead, they waited. The day the leak occurred, the unit below complained about water dripping from their potlight. The dripping toilet caused water damage to the unit below. The next day when a K-Fix contractor comes to see the problem, the problem is no longer there because the valve is turned off and they say it is not their issue. They say it's because of a faulty toilet. I must repeat again that the toilet had no issue before the fix. I was told at the rate the toilet was dripping, it would have flooded the whole condo in 20 minutes. I have emailed Bob Clarke multiple times regarding all issues and nothing has been done to rectify them. I have had to contact another contractor to help fix them. This is extra money out of my pocket on top of the expensive kitec replacement fix. I don't want other home owners to face the same nightmare I have and therefore want to share this experience. Do not use Ki-Fix Replacement Solutions for your Kitec replacement in your condo. They will not respect your condo and none of their guarantees will be kept. read more

Several neighbors and I have had absolutely terrible experiences with Bob and Ki-Fix. Firstly, they don't commit to the dates or timelines. They told us one day and time, and didn't show up. it happened a couple more times until they finally showed up at the wrong time. This is a huge issue that made us waste several vacation days from work. Also, they originally said it would take 3 days, but it actually took about 6 days. Our apartment was turned upside down and we had to live in the mess for a week. The whole reason why we originally chose kifix is because they quoted us the fastest times and least mess. But these were false claims. The timeline is not what was originally promised. It's been half a year already and we don't even have the engineering certificate. The workers told us that Bob (the owner) is not reliable at all, and that he's been overbooking them. It is shocking to me that Bob would treat his emoloyees this way, because they're the only good part of this whole experience. Turns out several neighborhors are experiencing the same thing. also, check out on BBB and Google pages how many fake reviews for 5 stars there are. On yelp, go under "not recommended reviews" and you'll see a bunch of fakes too. That's NEVER a good sign! Oh and wait till you hear the absolutely bizarre excuses that Bob gives over the phone. Stuff like "oh I got hit by a car and also my daughter fought with her ex boyfriend, and I have to now fly to an exotic island, and aliens kidnapped my wife" Over and over, each set of excuses are more unbelievable than the last! I was completely satisfied with Ki-Fix! I was about to sell my condo when I found out about Kitec and needed to get it remedied asap. They had great customer service, the process started less than a week from when I called, got the job done in 3 days, protected all my furniture, cleaned up! It was however, slightly more expensive than the average Kitec repiping company but I was willing to pay to get it done in a week... Definitely would recommend them to anyone! read more
