He took a look at my boots and recommended capping the heels as well. Overall, the price was what you would expect from both of those services. I was given the turnaround time (2 weeks) and expected ready day. I would've preferred to get a call, but I saw the hallway full of work, so I guess it stands to reason no news is good news. My boots were scheduled to be ready on a Friday, and I went to pick them up the following Monday. The woman who greeted me didn't recognize my name, but found my boots with the ticket. I have an active job, like 11k steps the other day on these boots' test run. They held up beautifully and I'm so happy I got them restored. Great job!

After explaining my problems, they told me what they could do and not do for the shoe. Luckily, there was a lot they could do such as widening the toe area and tightening up the heels. Now I am off to buy new shoes since I know they can take care of these kinds of problems. I am embarrassed by how little it cost.

It cost $65 (cash only). In those 4 weeks the heels only had the heel bit replaced (no other service/cleaning performed - I was hopefully for heel chip painting/restoration and cleaning.) And the loafers were conditioned. Period. The loafer's insole has a hole that was hoping for repair/replacement. So 4+ weeks, $65, and we got seemingly one shoe conditioned (which I could have done myself with product at home) and one shoe got new heel bits. HUGE waste of time and money. Only giving 2 stars instead of 1 cause it's a local business.

He gives people the ability to be mobile, to walk, and help lessen the pain many of us suffer. He is a dying breed in a MUCH needed trade. Joe and Dee found a way to keep everyone safe and worked through the pandemic. He has worked countless hours on his feet amist fumes that I'm sure aren't great for his health with Dee beside him running the business. They are not young, and have their own issues to deal with, as well as caring for elders in their families. They made a hard decision to close their business because of their own needs, but they didn't stay closed long. They heard the cries of their customers who send shoes from out of state also, and who couldn't get their shoes modified, or like in my case, not modified correctly, and if Michel DeAngelo in Illinois fixed them right, he was going to charge me again! I was left with useless shoes and out a lot of money. Joe and Dee decided to reopen when in this day and time of "It's all about ME, is rampant!" and customers don't seem to count. No, these are beautiful, special people care. They care about their customers so much they could not justify not reopening for their customers. Gratitude and reverent appreciation doesn't even begin to put feelings into words. I only hope that one day soon a young soul will come along and learn the trade well, and take the helm so Joe and Dee can retire and take care of themselves knowing they have left the customers they care so much about in wonderful hands and hopefully their legacy will be passed on. It will take some very special people to carry the torch. While they'll make a living, the richest reward will be in service to others in need. They will have some pretty big shoes to fill.

I visited in early April with my heels on a Friday and I had the option to pick them up the following Tuesday or Wednesday. The repair only cost $13 and the couple running the business were very nice. I even was able to purchase a brush for my Ugg's. I definitely will return when I need future repairs!
