My child had a wonderful experience at St. Peter's Child Care Center and I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for quality care. It was truly enriching to her and I did not feel as if I was burdening anyone with the task of providing her stimulating and high quality education and care. The teachers are incredibly nice and welcoming and they made her feel very comfortable outside of her regular home environment. The center regularly hosts very nice activities to for the families of the children attending the center. It is obvious that they put a lot of thought and effort into what they do. The reason why this review is so late is because of how traumatizing this entire ordeal was for me. First and foremost before I get into anything. I want to let you guys know that Brownstone Day School broke their contract. I explicitly stated that my daughter was not to appear on their social media. And I have screenshots of her on their Facebook page. One of the major reasons why I do not allow my daughter on social media is because we have a restraining order against somebody who has made threats against me and my daughter. Finding these photos was a devastating blow making me realize that Brownstone day school did not care about my daughter's safety or security when I explicitly made sure I did not sign the media contract and I let them know that she was to not appear in any form on media. My daughter who was a preemie and has asthma attended this school from August to I believe November of 2022. My daughter who I've worked very hard to keep healthy started out going to the school while in the average percentile for a 2-year-old. While attending this school she dropped all the way down to the 16th percentile for weight. My husband and I noticed she was acting lethargic and was extremely hungry whenever we would pick her up. I brought up my concerns to the staff. Letting them know that there was recently a child who was found locked away in a closet in another daycare who wasn't being fed. I let them know my concerns and that I was concerned about my daughter not eating enough. 4 days later my daughter was dismissed. The official reason which I had to learn from odjfs was that I made a staffer feel uncomfortable when I asked her exactly how much my daughter was eating. The reason why this whole ordeal blew up was because whenever I would pick her up they gave me my daughter's Daily Report which said she was eating full servings of all of her food and drinking full servings of all of her milk. My husband and I found the suspicious because my daughter does not drink milk. We asked the staffers how they were getting her to drink milk and they would just shrug and say that she drank it when the other kids drink it. My daughter refuses to drink milk in any form in any way. This led me being a little bit suspicious about the paperwork they were sending home with her I began to believe that they were lying about her intake of food. I would have had no issue with them just being honest and telling me that she wasn't eating her food but the fact of it is my daughter dropped to the 16th percentile. Her first check up after not going to that school she sprang back to the 87th percentile. If you would like to see my documents about this and trust me I have all my documents including including a document from my daughter's pediatrician saying that child welfare needs to be contacted because of how much weight my daughter dropped while attending this daycare. After being dismissed I asked Brownstone Day School to have my daughter's medical equipment ready for pickup by a family member. When this family member went none of her items were ready. They have stolen a book from me and also some of my daughters in medical equipment. This equipment is a couple hundred dollars put together. I am disgusted that they would not return these items to me and I have found out that allegedly they have refused to return medical equipment to families who have left Brownstone in the past. After being dismissed I did reach out to a couple other families who left reviews. Needless to say I am disgusted with the treatment of the children and the families that attended brownstone. I am disgusted that allegedly other families have been tricked out of hundreds of dollars by Tesla teaching them to sign in wrong. Tesla also did this to me where she taught me how sign in but on the wrong ipad. And then try to charge me hundreds of dollars for not signing in correctly. Allegedly they have also dismissed other children whose family members have brought concerns up about physical abuse that has happened to them. I am not going to be telling other people's stories only my own story. I'd have been happy to pay more if the increase was going to the teachers like they said it would. After speaking to current and former employees, they never saw those funds from the increase in tuition. Therefore the question remains, where did that money go? Not to mention that in addition to the weekly fee, you will pay a monthly teacher fee (no idea what this is for) and a monthly organic fee. They raised prices for services they had told us they were already providing, such as yoga. In one price raise (they had 3 or 4 since Covid), they stated they were going to be installing an outdoor water play area, which they did. However, capital improvements should be part of a business's operating income-not my tuition, in my opinion. Teachers were in and out and we never knew who our child would be with that day. Well meaning teachers who got no support from ownership. The center is disorganized and did not allow for day to day communications. This was absolutely a favor that we parted ways with Brownstone. I was comfortable with the care there when we started almost 4 years ago, but the quality of care has declined sharply in that time.

The fitness classes, swimming pool access, sauna and hot tub access, plus a massage and yoga room make it worth my while. I attend the Lakewood location (my home location) and sometimes I visit the downtown Cleveland location. Members can visit any location as long as they visit their home location the most in a calendar year. The downtown location is much bigger and newer so it feels fancier but the Lakewood location is solid. FITNESS CLASSES -- Free with your membership. I've really enjoyed their Les Mills BodyPump classes. I've also taken their compound circuits, cycle, pure strength, and barre classes. The bodypump class is my favourite because I love using weights. SWIMMING LESSONS -- These are offered for a separate fee. They offer swim lessons for children and adults. They offer beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes. I took their 10 week beginner adult swimming class from late January to March with instructor Elliott. I was nervous but I'm glad I challenged myself. I learnt a lot and I hope to sign up for another beginner class again as I'm not ready for an intermediate level yet. SAUNA/HOT TUB/STEAM ROOMS -- all free with your membership. I enjoy using the Sauna anytime I come and I've sometimes used the hot tub. The Sauna at the Lakewood location gets busy but I normally can find a seat or I just stand. Sometimes, I have to wait to enter because it is too packed inside. The downtown location's Sauna is bigger than the Lakewood one plus downtown has a Steam room but the Lakewood location does not have a Steam room. GYM/WEIGHTS ROOM -- This is upstairs and items where all the cardio and weight machines are. There are also 2 bikes and 2 rowing machines here. There are plenty of treadmill, 2 stair climber machines, and elliptical machines too plus free weights (dumbbells). Other machines include leg press, squat, etc. They also have weighted balls or medicine balls, sand bags, kettlebells, etc. There are more bikes in the cycling room. The 2nd floor also has a yoga room, a cycling room, a massage/quiet room, and TRX/extra weights room. All of these rooms are included in your membership. Of course, if a yoga class, a cycle class, or a TRX or strength class is happening then you can't use those rooms. The 2nd floor has a main big room where most of the fitness classes are held such as the Bodypump classes. CHILDCARE -- There is a childcare space that I believe is free with membership. So if you are a parent and need to exercise, you can bring your child here. Employees look after kids as parents workout. I don't have kids but the childcare service is a nice benefit. PRICE -- It's all relative. We all spend money on what we want. If you don't own a home with exercise equipment or live in an apartment with a gym then the YMCA is your best option. The YMCA membership is affordable to me and a fair price compared to most gyms. It's also cheaper than eating out everyday as some of us do (BAM!). There are different membership levels depending on if you are a child, student, adult, or senior. Call them to inquire. I pay under $50 a month before taxes for my adult monthly membership. PARKING -- Free. There is a huge parking lot but it can get extremely crowded because a lot of families are YMCA members because of their kids. The downtown location also has a free parking garage which is validated for YMCA members. The only issue that I have with the Lakewood YMCA is that the sauna is very small so it is always packed. I think the employees can do a better job at monitoring the sauna to make sure that no one stays in there too long. There is a sign outside the sauna that states it is limited to 10 mins every time but some people stay for longer. I stay longer when no one else is waiting to enter or when I'm in the only one using it. TIP -- While the cardio machines in the gym seem busy, I've learned that coming early in the morning before work sometimes helps because it is not as busy. After work (between 5:30pm - 8pm) is when the YMCA tends to be very busy. Overall, I would recommend the Lakewood YMCA. The price is very reasonable and the gym has a lot of classes and services to offer. The employees who work here are really nice and helpful. They also bring in cookies often from Insomnia cookies (on Tuesdays) because Insomnia brings their leftovers to the YMCA. Giant Eagle often brings some pastries and bread to the YMCA too which is cool for those who want it. I forgot what days the bread products come in but I believe the days varies. I plan to be a member for a long time.

I understand when people have issues arise and need to reschedule, but if you can't commit to giving a proper tour then communicate that. My son attended here for 1 month and we were called countless times regarding his behavior- 3 days in a row to pick him up because he was climbing, pushing, not listening "properly" - keep in mind my son was just about to turn TWO.. We walked in to pick him up and he's sitting in the office, eyes swollen and tears running down his face- once again he's almost TWO. I asked for them to do a behavior chart and what they did for each "bad" behavior was quiet corner and explained to him what he did wrong (12 times in a row which was obviously not working). Another complaint was him saying sh**, and they said they cannot have kids influencing others with words like this- I asked.. are you sure he's not saying something else like shirt or sit? once they find out that he is saying sit they just say sorry and move on to something else. With the pushing- the teacher had implied that he may be seeing these behaviors at home which was insulting to say the least. he has cousins and play date friends but is the only child at our home so when around all these kids we are relying on his teachers to work with him when needed. Good news- my son is now at a daycare that he loves and we have not received one call or concern about his behaviors!
