I wanted to update my review. My last review was 3 years ago. Last summer my boys did several KUC classes. My boys LOVED them! They were educational as well as fun! Since it had been years since I had attended school, I had to take a math placement test when I decided to return to college. If I didn't place well on the math test, I would have had to take up to 3 extra years worth of math classes. I sought after Kristen's services to help me accomplish my goal of placing well on the test. I met with Kristen a few times a week for two months before the math placement testing and was exceedingly impressed with her tutoring style; she made me understand what I was learning and even made the tutoring process enjoyable!. Kristen was able to teach me the principals of three years of math courses in just a few months to where I was able to pass a difficult placement test. We finally got to experience Kids Under Construction during the pandemic shutdown this summer (my daughter is 6 so we weren't quite in the market for tutoring before this). NOTHING was being offered anywhere for summer activities for my daughter-- then Kids Under Construction offered a STEAM summer camp. Of course I jumped on the opportunity because I knew it would be a small group of kids and we trust Kristen (the owner) to provide a safe environment that would be fun for my 6 year old daughter. We signed up for two separate 2 week sessions (3 hours/twice a week) -- the Dream Home Camp and the Volcano/Candy Launcher camp. Kristen was awesome about accommodating us to attend with other friends we knew who also signed up for the camp. The camp was small at 6 kids or so, masks were optional for the kids (ours wore hers) but the teacher wore a face shield. Temperatures were taken upon arrival. Each child had their own desk area and their own supplies that weren't shared with others. My daughter really looked forward to attending camp and loved the activities and experiments they did. She came home teaching me about computer coding, designing her own dream home, how volcanos erupt, and of course how gravity helps launch candy! It was exactly what we needed to slowly start exposing our daughter to social activities in these crazy Covid times. We highly recommend KUC for any of your tutoring or camp needs! read more

Please be very cautious signing a contract with this tutoring group. I signed a contract with Kids Under Construction to provide math tutoring for my daughter. The contract stated my daughter would receive tutoring at the 2nd street location as our house proved to be distracting. Unfortunately, the tutor assigned to my daughter continually rescheduled and requested home sessions. We tried for but it didn't work out. We gave our 30 day notice to terminate and I believed all was good. Upon review of my credit report I found Kids Under Construction filed a collection action against me for a full year of tutoring which we did not receive. I reached out to Kids Under Construction and we came to what I was promised was a mutually satisfying settlement. I paid even though I disagreed, but to this day Kids Under Construction and their collection agency have not removed the item from my credit reports. Be careful. read more

Kristin helped me from 7th grade up until my senior year in high school. During summer she would come over and help introduce me to the math that I would learn in the upcoming school year. This was a HUGE help and always helped me feel way more prepared for the school year. During the school year she'd come over once a week and help me with any homework I needed help with whether it was math, writing Cornell notes for history, or planning out an essay. I am also a first generation college student and she really helped me out with the complicated process that is college applications. Kristin did more than teach me how to solve 2 step equations but also taught me so many life lessons like organization, planning, and more. Kristen has been tutoring my boy's since they were in preschool. Both my kids are ADHD and have IEP's for learning problems.....that being said she has spent time getting to know them and how THEY learn, what works and what doesn't. I highly do not recommend this business for tutoring. The girl who does the actual tutoring is very unprofessional. She was late every time to the sessions because of her other job. She also always wanted to meet at the house instead of the actual place of her business. We paid for tutoring at the business because their was no distractions that were at the house. So we paid a lot for basically nothing. She has a friend that does the business side, and they are both scam artists. After not seeing them for a week, we thought they were done tutoring. She never contacted us for upcoming sessions. I knew she was pregnant with a guys baby because she was very open about it and always had her boyfriend over during the sessions. They sue people for a living, and I highly highly do not recommend her. You will be sorry. read more
