Very good. Mostly undercover and enough to keep the kids busy for most of the days. A bit pricey, but that was offset by a 6 day return voucher! read more

This club is owned by The Office's David Brent. But you can't have everything. First-Hand Experience: After visiting the stadium in 04 and liking it, I came to see Argyle play in 07 and 11. What a wonderful experience. Brilliant team, amazing fans. I love watching them and I love the spirit of this team. They are an absolute top notch 5 star team to me with 5 star fans. Southern and Westernmost team in England too. Way down by the sea. Absolutely love it here. I've always loved Plymouth Argyle, I'm not really sure why. My concert down here was mediocre, and outdoor actually, and I haven't found any amazing food in the city. It might be because they play in bright green, or are an old seafaring port city (which is so romantic) and the former capital of the British Naval Fleet (which isn't really a good thing but w/e), and also that they had Olly as their manager (Ian Holloway) which is super fun. He even had the accent to match it. But my fave thing is that they play in bright green and they call this park Home. Literally. They've really fallen from grace, as recently as a few years ago they were flirting with the possibility of promotion to the Premier League and now they're languishing all the way down in the lowest tier. They were formed back in 1886. Very impressive. I've visited this stadium several times over many years and it always looks like a bigger deal than you'd think, probably because the team is such a big deal regionally. The nickname "The Pilgrims" should resonate with Americans, although it's pretty, um, Grim. The city of Plymouth is the largest to have never hosted Premier League/top division football. They're also the most southern and the most western club in the league. I'll give them 5 stars in the hope that it inspires them to rise back up where they belong. With a 17k capacity, they belong in a much higher league.

First-Hand Experience: I watched the second half of a TCFC game when I was down here in Cornwall for my 2011 tour. I really liked the stadium and crowd, but mainly the spirit and the fight of the team. I will be watching Truro again someday. Truro is a quiet little team with only 3k capacity, and have only been in the Conference a little bit, and are now back out of it. I am not really reviewing the teams outside the Conference and League because I haven't visited most of them, but since I've visited little Truro and had a nice show in this town and since it's the biggest team in Cornwall, which is one of the most beautiful counties in the world, let alone England, I had to include it here. They were founded in 1889 and play in white with a little yellow. And they're adorable.

And my fave Bob Marley song is "Exodus." And I have lots of "exs..." ... er. First-Hand Experience: I've seen them play away 2 or 3 times, although Uri Geller and Michael Jackson were not present sadly. And I've seen the last 30 mins of one of their home games in 2011. Every time I was thoroughly impressed by their loud fans and really passionate, adorable team. I can't help but give them a 5 stars because it's one of my fave teams to watch in the lower leagues. So they play in red and white and are over 100 years old. This cute little south western team in a lovely region of the country have a lot more going on than meets the proverbial eye. For example, Chris Martin of Coldplay, and Noel Edmonds, and Joss Stone, are all fans, and Joss was introduced to the crowd as a fan at a Liverpool cup game... weird. And more weird is that Uri Geller and, yes, Michael Jackson, were directors of the club. Idk why. Also add in the fact that ECFC are owned by their fans... and that they fell out of the football league, made it back in via the play offs and then got promoted to League One the next season, and you can see there's a bit of spoon-bending magic going on here. Anyone that's connected with Michael Jackson has to get 5 stars from me.

The ceiling is essentially the roof, very high up! The bar prices are about the same as normal pubs. Limited food is available, but they do things like Sunday roasts. Most of what they do is advertised on a blackboard near the main road by the fire station (the Astro Park is located immediately behind the fire station). Weekends sees its busiest time, as it is home to the Penzance Hockey teams, as well as servicing local football clubs Madron FC and Newlyn Non Athletico FC.

It can be a bit annoying though with all the classes they have in the pool, particularly if they are not on the schedule (as happened to me once). They have a gym with the usual machines and various different classes such as yoga and palates (no, I have no idea what it is, but I suspect something sinister). The gym café though is somewhat overpriced, so I'd avoid that personally. And the view from outside the gymwow. The fit people of St Ives are rather fortunate!

We have now booked a birthday party too and will report back with our findings.
