This is our favorite sushi place to order in from at work. Their sushi and sashimi are fresh and tasty, but I'm particularly fond of their other lunch options. The udon is excellent if you're more in the mood for noodles or soup. And their bento box specials are well-balanced meals and darn delicious. What makes up a bento box? You get sliced chicken teriyaki (or something similar), three dumplings, several sushi rolls with crab, rice, and either miso soup or salad. The salad adds some welcome greens to the meal and comes with an excellent peanuty salad dressing. I could eat a bento box every day if I didn't mind spending $9 for all my lunches. Haru Hana's not just for delivery, however; it's also an extremely comfortable sit-down restaurant. It'll be interesting to see how they do when the new sushi place opens down the hill. Still the best sushi around. Worth the drive from NYC. Lee and his wife, Jenny, provide a warm, friendly relaxed atmosphere. Most diners seem to be repeat visitors based on the greetings and conversations. It's not fancy and don't come if you are in a big rush. This is not a big place with a big staff. If they get slammed, you may have to wait a little longer than usual. If you have some time, however, come, join the family and eat the best sushi around. read more

There are a lot of sushi places in and around the river towns, but Kiku Sushi is my favorite. They have an amazing assortment of inventive, creative, fresh and delicious rolls, the best selection I've had anywhere. I particularly like the Marc roll, with spicy salmon, mango inside, avocado and masago on top, or the Tappan Zee roll, with shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado topped with mango and tobiko, but they have so many special rolls it's impossible to choose one. The decor is sophisticated but zen-like, comfortable and upscale, with gorgeous views of the Hudson River right outside the door. This is a family owned business, and the people are exceptionally nice, but the only downside is that service can be slow, even if the restaurant isn't busy, so just don't plan on dashing in and out. Stopped by on an impromptu business lunch. Not a soul was in the place when we arrived, but it filled up. Good lunch. Got rolls, spicy tuna and avocado tuna and miso soup. The soup was good, the rolls tasty, but unevenly cut, which was odd. The service was good and the price for 2 for lunch was $27. Really, who can bitch about that? read more

This is a nice little Japanese Restaurant/sushi joint. Great food served in generous portions. Although I'm not a sushi fan (I get the cooked stuff- the Chicken Katsu Don and Teriyaki Salmon are recommended!) the Mrs. is, and she raves about it. Very clean, nice decor (some rockin' neon lights around the side!), some cool Japanese music played at a good volume, not to mention the extremely friendly and helpful staff. I ordered Sushi and Sashimi and it was delicious. The fish was very fresh. I ordered on-line and the app said I can pick up in 40 min. I showed up 40 minutes later to find out that they hadn't even seen my order. They were super busy but very apologetic and gave me an extra dish to make up for it. Just had dinner here with my kids. We were stuffed. Great food. We had the tempura and udon soup, Soba noodles with beef, Salmon Nagiri sushi and Katsudon. Staff was very nice and the price was good. Will be back for sure. read more

I feel bad not giving the place a better rating, because they are so nice there. I've been three times with my father (he seems to really enjoy it there). The appetizers, soups and the box meals were all excellent. The rolls...not so much. They were boring, sloppy and I've never been to a place that puts plain mayo into any kind of roll. I ordered a diet coke, and it looked like I got the last 2 cubes in the place. The workers were all sitting around with their feet up, which kind of seemed unprofessional. I'll order from them for delivery, but there are just way too many better places to go, that offer the same food, and better food. read more

You learn to love it. It's the suburbs. It's nearby. It's convenient! And the owners are very nice people. It won't blow you away but it's adequate. And they have a Thai menu too. I like the pad Thai. The curry is good too and the Japanese bento boxes are a decent value. Its growing on me and my family. I live down the street from the restaurant, but tend to venture to Dobbs Ferry for my sushi needs. The food isn't bad, it's just nothing special. The menu ranges from sushi to habachi to Thai and I think they're just stretching themselves a little too thin. Had the lunch special. Wish I didn't/ First off they screwed up one of my selections and gave me something else. The cups they give you to dip your sushi rolls in are half the size of the rolls themselves. Illogical. The salad had exactly 1.4 of a tomato slice, 1 cucumber, and a boatload of lettuce. Not even worth eating. The sushi does not even taste that fresh. Will not order again. There are better places in the area. read more

Went to this excellent establishment several times while I was living in New York. Absolutely some of the most friendly staff, seemed to care about customers and want them to keep coming back! Good sushi, and some unique specialty rolls which is one of my favorite things about the place. Often quiet and laidback, which allows the ambience to even be romantic. I hate it when sushi places wait to serve all your rolls in one platter, making us wait an eternity, but I really can't complain. We had 5 different rolls and all were pretty much dynamite. With names like volcano, yummy, pink lady, fancy and house roll, I have to say, it wasn't bad. Sushi with mango actually works, but a lot of their filling was full of sauce. And it was a bit salty, but I was still quite satisfied. We also had their house salad, which truly was just lettuce and dressing made of miso paste and orange juice. The place was nice, quiet, no music, but it had a decent layout and design. The sunset was fabulous and the service was ok. I liked it, but not 100% impressed. If they serve as rolls were done, it wasn't so salty and saucy, and the waitress smiled more, and the place gave out more natural warmth, welcome feeling, then I would adore it. For a small town place, its good though, but just ok. read more

#1 in my book. Food is always very fresh. The owners and staff are as warm as can be. Marie and I have been patrons for over 2 years and go at least once a month is not 2,3 or 4 times. Food was excellent. It was amazing I am really looking froward to eat a there again. The waitress always a treats me with a kind smile. My favorite roll there was the yummy roll, it was really yummy! I love this sushi place ! their avocado rolls and sweet potato rolls are amazing, but their mango avocado roll could use more ripe mangoes. it has a nice atmosphere and interior and the servers are very friendly. their salads are also amazing !! my friends and I love to order from here, but main courses can be a little pricey. their sushi is reasonably priced and well worth it. read more

NOPE. This is a review on the delivery service, not the food - as I never got any. Made the order, was told it would be here in 35 mins. Called after 50 mins and was told it would get to me soon, it was on the way. NOPE. After an hour I called again, got apologies. Delivery guy then called me giving me the wrong street number address. When I corrected him, he told me where he was - 2 blocks away. He kept me on the phone asking questions about whether my light was on. Five minutes later, still nothing. I call the restaurant again, they tell me they'll get in touch with him. Ten minutes later I call back, pretty upset. They tell me he went who knows where, gave my food to someone else. WTF. No one thought it would be a good idea to call me and let me know that, I guess. Other than apologies, they had no solution or offer to make it better. Oh, and over 2 hours later, still no food.
