I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel. If you are staying in Killarney area, this is close to Ross Castle, Muckross House, the Abbey, and is actually on the "Ring of Kerry" drive path. The decor is soooo Irish-British ... think lots of florals, wallpaper, and patterned carpets. The building itself is super cool ... you'll never see anything like this in America. There is an elevator (or lift) but you still may have to walk up a few extra stairs. It's like a labyrinth with two rooms here, four there, steps up or down and hallways going here and there. Super cute. Our room was surprisingly large. Everything was clean. The bed was super comfortable. I slept great. In-room coffee, not good. Breakfast was included in our stay. There were plenty of options as well as a buffet table set up with cheeses, meats, pastries, fruit and the sort. However, my husband's omelette was not so great (greasy). My breakfasts were both fantastic. And the coffee in the restaurant was good, phew!

The waitress came over with a menu but I knew what I wanted since I browsed it before walking in. She seemed new though as she wasn't overly friendly and didn't explain that I had to go up to the bar to cash out. Sipping on my pint of Guinness with Black, in what felt like maybe five minutes, my dinner arrived. I ordered the Cajun Chicken Burger, which is a grilled Cajun chicken fillet topped with lettuce, tomato, and red onion with sweet chili mayo between a toasted brioche bun and served with a side of fries. The sandwich was good, nothing really stood out, but that's fine, it had good flavor overall. I liked the spice it had and the side of fries had come fresh out of the fryer as they were very hot and crispy. Overall, a fine experience at The Failte Hotel. The waitress who waited on me seemed new and should have done a better job communicating the cash out process, but no harm done. The food was fine as well, nothing really noteworthy. If I were passing through Killarney again, I wouldn't mind coming back for dinner.

We chose this place because it was close to where we were staying, there was food that sounded good to us, and the prices were reasonable. There was only one other table with people at it when we arrived but by the time we left about an hour later the place was hopping. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and my partner got the classic burger. The carbonara was so good and you could tell they made their own pasta. The garlic bread was also delicious and hit the spot after a long day. The burger was also good, my partner said it had a tangy flavor that he couldn't identify but liked. The fries were also super crispy and fluffy, exactly how we like them. The servers were nice and quick to take our orders and bring our food. It took a while to pay the bill but that could certainly be because we weren't sure if they would bring it to us or if we needed to get it from the bar. A musician set up behind our table shortly after we arrived and played some acoustic sets. He was fantastic and we loved listening to him. This was a great place to stop in at when we were exhausted and in need of a good meal. I would go back for the fries on their own because of how good they were.

We…read morestayed 2 nights in room 212 (Arbus suite) which had a large bedroom, full spacious and updated bathroom and nice separate sitting area for relaxing. Our rate included breakfast. We also dined one evening in the exceptional hotel restaurant (Ivy Lounge) having made advance reservations. While without AC (like most Irish hotels) we were quite comfortable with a couple of window to open up. Even in June the temps outside seldom got past the mid 50s. As for the room itself, the king bed was firm and there were ample pillows. While the bedside tables were a bit undersized, there was power of both sides of the bed (bring your adapter as there were no ISB ports). The staff are great-friendly and helpful and the sleek styling of the place adds to the overall appeal. It's pretty quiet save the morning squeaking of crows without much ambient noise. On my wish list would be a slightly larger shower and double sink but in the overall scheme of things that's not a big negative. Would definitely recommend a stay here when visiting Killarney. Several of the nearby larger properties had multiple tour buses parked so if you'd like a more serene oasis in what can be a fairly busy tourist area, the Victoria just might be the answer.

The Ivy Restaurant served a wonderful dinner. The hotel is a pleasant 1 mile walk from the town center, which we walked several times. The weather is definitely cold so bring a jacket as the temperate can dip. The hotel itself has this rustic vibe to it which we really enjoy. It's a good mixture of old and new as the picture of the staircase with carpet has the old school feeling I enjoy. Keep in mind when you walk into your room the lights won't work unless you insert your room key into the slot provided by the door. After which the lights will work. The hotel restaurant is very good, I enjoyed my lamb plate and my wife enjoyed her pizza as well. Moderately priced food nothing over the top and I can recommend the lamb for sure. She was amazing, so proffesional and helpful! We were worried that we would have no place to stay. That did not happen. All the staff were great. The bed was pretty comfy and I did not love the pillows. The hotel looks like it could use some TLC and some updating. Our room smelled a bit musty and my allergies were in high gear from that. The light fixture was hanging out of the ceiling rather than it being placed inside the socket for the fixtures in the ceiling. Seems liek anx3asy enough fix to take care of. It was pretty loud there where you could hear everything inclusong people talking in the hallway or walking up the stairs. There is an elevator. They warned us there was an 80's dance night happening and it would be loud. It was quite loud. They provided ear plugs but they did not help much. We did get some sleep. The room cost about $220 which I thought was expensive for the room quality. The breakfast buffet was good and the food was yummy. It was in an excellent location. Walking distance from the bus and train stations. So close to town and all the great shops. It is right across the street from the botanical gardens. We lost our EU adapters during our travels some how for our phones. They loaned us some so we could charge our phones. I love that they had a box of them to loan out. No fridge in the room. In fact most of the hotels in Ireland do not offer that. The room had a tea kettle with tea and a chocolate bar. We would stay here again but may be more specific about the room we choose if we could do that and check to see if they are having music and dancing.

The location was quite, very close the sites of interest and close enough to walk to town if you want and it had parking included. I'd stay here again if the occasion arises.
