Old type of diner. Was welcomed with a friendly smile. They have plenty of tables but I sat at the counter with my friend just to do like old times. Had the "Homerun" breakfast. My friend had the "Pinch Hit" if I recall the name. Very good and plentiful for an affordable price. Huge portion of pancakes. I drink my coffee black and it was very good. What is the first thing you do after a procedure where you are instructed to have NOTHING BY MOUTH for 24 hours? Eat your brains out in DINER FOOD, that's what- and that's exactly what my mama wanted to do after her procedure. She decided on Riverside Diner. She's been here a few times, me none. I'm always down for a local family owned diner- so I gave it a whirl. For one, I missed the parking lot because the diner looks like a trailer on the outside. I didn't even recognize it driving by. But don't be fooled, the inside is casual & cozy. Definitely a small town diner feel. Lots of booths, tables, and a large counter. There was one waitress and (from what I observed) one cook around noon on a Monday. The waitress handled it well when several parties walked in at the same time. They make pretty much EVERYTHING homemade. I had the corn beef & cabbage soup. Um wow, amazing. For my lunch I had a turkey melt ($6.95). Turkey, bacon, cheese, tomato with 1,000 island dressing on grilled rye bread! MMMM! Delicious. It was perfect. I got sweet potato tots on the side. Don't bother. They weren't good. Their bleu cheese dressing tastes a little funky too. My Ma got the "What" ($7.95), which is her usual choice when she comes here. The "What" is 2 eggs any style served over hash browns, topped with bacon, sausage, and cheese, and comes with toast. Holy heart attack. The service was fast, food good. Nice local diner in the area. It's a little bit of a drive from my house. But if I ever happen to be around the area again I would definitely stop by! read more

My wife and I went here yesterday for breakfast. This was our first and definitely will not be our last time going to this diner. We walked in the front door and sat ourselves in an empty booth. The table was clean and the silverware was wrapped up in the napkins in front of each place setting. Upon looking around the diner we both noticed that the place looked pretty clean. The waitresses were very prompt in taking our order and attentive when it came time for refills of our coffee without us having to ask for the refill. We each had a breakfast meal that was delicious. I had what was called the Batter up. The Batter Up is 2 eggs any style, served with home fries and choice of bacon, sausage, ham or hash & toast. I didn't leave a crumb on my plate. My wife enjoyed the Riverbun Breakfast Sandwich. The Riverbun Breakfast Sandwich consists of egg, cheese with choice of meat on a hard roll. She said this was a very good sandwhich. We both had the fresh coffee and I also had a chocolate milk. I have to give this diner a 5 star rating based on the cleanliness of the diner, quality and taste of the food, and the attentiveness of the waitresses. I did something I've never done. I was cruising down the freeway and asked Siri to find me a restaurant; this was the first choice. What a nice surprise! Killing's is spotless (ignore the outside). The staf/owners are super friendly and helpful. The food was terrific! I had Mushroom Stew, really just a red sauce with mushrooms and hamburger over penne. Much better than it sounds. Simple food really well prepared. The coffee was also unexpectedly good and fresh. A great place and great value. read more

Riverside is THE spot! One of my family's favorite local diners. I swear, we have never had a single egg from this place that was not cooked to absolute PERFECTION. Never judge a book by it's cover... though the outside may look a little rundown, the inside has a great diner feel! Love the big bottom stools at the counter and the wall menu with what appears to be a listing specials named after what I guess to be regulars or employees. Definitely a fun stop for breakfast! The Irish breakfasts, when they have them, are a treat. Specials are generally hearty. Even the basic pancakes are above board. Never had anything but stellar service. Terrific prices for the quality and portions. Interior is a little quaint, but that's frankly part of the homey appeal. Overall, a great diner experience. Betty's would seem to be the only problem for the jolly Irishman that runs the Riverside Diner. I agree the food is fine and very modest in price though the menu is a bit skimpy. Great breakfast and lunch...typical American diner fare. Clean...fast service...nice staff. Very reasonable prices. Haven't tried the fish fry they do during Lent but have heard it's good. The building has been improved and painted since the picture from 2007 was posted. read more
