I do NOT recommend Delaware Arthritis…read more My wife saw a doctor here on January 3, 2025 and had what we thought was routine bloodwork that a Rheumatologist would order done through Quest Diagnostics. Every test was covered by our insurance except one. That single vial cost several hundred dollars because our insurance labeled it "Experimental/Investigational," which is NOT covered. The biggest issue: At no point were we informed that this test might not be covered. If something is considered experimental, patients deserve to know beforehand so they can make an educated decision. We were completely blindsided by the bill. Since then, we have made 6-8 phone calls between: * Delaware Arthritis * Quest Diagnostics * Our insurance company Delaware Arthritis told us they would re-code the test and attempted this multiple times -- but nothing changed. Fast forward over a year later, and the bill has now been sent to collections. Sarah from Delaware Arthritis has been extremely unhelpful and unsympathetic throughout this entire process. No ownership, no urgency, and no real attempt to resolve the issue. To top it off, the doctor my wife saw no longer even works there. Bottom line: Patients should NEVER be hit with surprise bills for "experimental" tests they were never warned about. That is unacceptable. If you have an autoimmune condition and need consistent, transparent care, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. This practice has been nothing but frustrating and disappointing.

That is not the doctor's fault. He had me do a prism test so see what med would work for me and only one med was available for me. The out of pocket expense is too much for my tiny SS check so no meds for me. I can't say enough about everyone in the Lewes office. They are all amazing!! Thanks to all.
