It was nice that there is a Starbucks across the road so we could grab Starbucks before our pedicures. We were greeted at the front and 2 lovely ladies lead us back to the pedicure area. It is a small nail area, only 2 pedicure chairs but very quiet and private. I had the owner work on my feet and she was very informative and sweet. The other lady working on my friend does some AMAZING Japanese Nail art and we got a chance to look through her samples. Once I remove my artificial nails I will try her out for some great, unique shellac nails. Our pedicure was a standard pedicure, very clean. It costs $55. Most of the salons in central alberta are more on the pricier side (coming from Toronto you get used to the same pedicures but for $25) I want to try their facials there, will definitely return.

She barely looked at the photo I showed her and then really did a very bad job of the nails. It was a simple base colour and glitter fade. She painted the glitter on and then tried to fade in the base coat. To say I'm embarrassed by the nails is an understatement. I'm new to Red Deer and am trying to find a nail artist I can trust. I called them to make an appointment to have them fixed and not only did they tell me to come in right away, but they fixed it free of charge. Also the only place that could do acrylics on my aggressively chewed nails without hurting me or making my fingers bleed further. Constant care and check in's to make sure my nails are always the way I want (even when I request very short nails) and just the right amount of atmospheric buzz that you can really relax. They did my wedding nails and the nails I wanted for post wedding, and have repeatedly helped me to grow my nails out with the protection of the acrylics or gels. I definitely recommend them over any of the nail places I've been to in malls. Vanese nail salon is clean, smells nice and never makes me feel judged for what I like.

Until I decided to go back yesterday and they have upped their prices by almost double and they seemed to use the bare minimum of products they need my nails are all see through the polish doesn't go anywhere near the edges of most of my nails and this morning I realized my middle nail is peeling and I could peel the polish off of it completely (I got gel so they should last at least two weeks).

The only thing I always wished was that the massage of my legs and feet lasted longer. I had my first pedicure at Safari today and was very pleased. But what won me over was the lengthy wonderful massage. I even asked if this was a common practice or if she was possibly done earlier then expected and had extra time to fill and she said no this is how all pedicures are done that they all allot that much time for the massage! Plus they offer a quick but wonderful hand massage at the very end.....I definitely will be going back :)
