I was so bored when I attended a public elementary school but this school helped me to enjoy school. When I finished sixth grade I had finished learning all of 8th grade math content and was at a 7th grade reading level. The school is also very hands on, we did engineering projects, made things, and learned about real world situations. This helped me to not get burnt out and bored at school. We also learned about things that you typically don't learn about in elementary school, for instance in fourth grade a tool a philosophy class, and I learned about Plato's cave and other concepts. This school set me up for success. I now just finished my junior year of high school and have a unweighted GPA of 4.0 while taking AP, CE, and honors classes.

My son was struggling badly in school and we pulled him from our local school in the middle of 6th grade. Draper Academy and their staff and students welcomed him with open arms. They tested him and he was 2 grade levels behind in math and a bit behind in comprehension as well. This school was a place for him to rest, learn and recoup for a year and a half. He was able to relax, gain confidence in himself again and lovegoing to school every day! This school was such a gift for him. He is now in 8th grade and he just started at one of our local junior highs and we are a month into school and he has straight A's. He is flourishing and able to stay organized and is understanding his 8th grade math. She loves her teachers, has made a lot of friends and is learning reading, writing, math, science and life skills at an incredible rate. She loves to sing us the silly songs she learns and show off her art projects when we pick her up. The director and teachers focus on helping students develop social and emotional skills in addition to a well rounded academic curriculum. Questions (or concerns) are welcomed and responded to in a timely manner with an effective resolution. The school is safe with a locked campus and a good teacher to student ratio. The classrooms are clean, the grounds are spacious and the playground is well maintained. There hasn't been any staff turnover in the two years my daughter has attended and you can feel how much they care about the kids. They educate with warmth and good humor.
