Seriously best lash place ever! I've been to a few and they all would look great but they never last! KimMies glue is magical because my lashes last for a 3-4 weeks. Ex.: I couldn't figure out how to shape my eyebrows, so I tattooed them on; I don't know how to "blend" my eyeshadow, so I usually only wear eyeliner. I went for a more "bold" look and am very happy with the results. I expected the extensions to be heavy (like when you wear falsies), but they are WEIGHTLESS. I have gotten so many compliments, and the lashes make a HUGE difference. My husband asked me why I was wearing makeup to bed--I never wear makeup to bed (EW)! The lashes really open your eyes up and makes you look as if you have makeup on (a positive thing, mind you) all the time. I woke up this morning and was like, "damn, I don't look totally like crap this morning!" Anyway, just a few tips: -Price for a full set (with special) is about $125 before tax. -Initial application takes about 2 hours. -Can't wet your lashes for about a day after application. -Fills are recommended about every 3-4 weeks. -After the first day, you can go swimming, shower, wear makeup (but not mascara--not like you need it), but make sure to use an oil-free makeup remover. -If the lashes get "tangled" or clump together, just brush them out and they go back to looking fab. -Kimmie & Jacob are great! read more

I love yelping about small businesses, especially after receiving excellent service and walking away with an amazing product: beautiful eyelashes! I found out about KJ from another small biz favorite (see my Waxing by Cariann review) and was floored by how amazing my aesthetician's lashes looked. I was able to snag an appointment by chance and made the trek to Kaimuki. I was greeted by a lovely staff and impressed by the well appointed establishment. They even had a matching velour chair for the kiddies! Already I could tell these proprietors were extremely attentive to detail. After consulting with Kimmie on the lashes I wanted, I laid on the comfy table WITH a pillow under my knees (again attention to detail is amazing). I was a bit mystified as to how long I felt her combing my eyelashes, but unbeknownst to me, she was well underway on eyelash application. That is how fast and efficient KJ is! I hadn't even realized that she was applying the faux mink lashes for probably the first 20 minutes. Kimmie and Jacob are transplants from the mainland and hope that they stay in the islands forever. Kimmie was so fun to work with as she has a great attitude and a diligent work ethic and truly loves her chosen profession. I've been going to KimmieJacob for a year and a half now and am FOREVER grateful to my friend who shared her lash extension secret with me! I've been stopped at the airport (TSA ladies asking me if my lashes are real); at the State Capitol (yes, it does matter what you look like when you testify before a committee); after community meetings ("I love your lashes - you're so lucky to be born with them!); and best of all, just grocery shopping and having the cashier exclaim how great I look! Kimmie Jacob was the last salon that we visited and we were instantly impressed with the décor of the salon - it's very warm and inviting. Kimmie was very professional and laid out all of our options for us. She even offered us a great wedding package, so that was an added bonus. Come to find out that they just recently opened their salon, which explains why everything looks so fresh and clean. We ultimately decided to book our appointments with Kimmie and Jacob because out of all the salons that we visited, Kimmie was the most personable and made us feel very comfortable (and she gets extra kudos for easing the bridezilla's anxieties, which is no easy task!) Literally EVERY place I go women (and at times even men) are complimenting my lashes and asking me if they are real!!! I'm so tempted to tell them YES haha. But I have to give props to both Kimmie and Jacob because they are both SOOOO good at lashes! I think that is always a good ideas especially when you want to see what you'll look like before that special occasion. When I got there, Jacob was my lash expert. He's super friendly and thorough. He explains what they will do and how they differ from their competition. The full set process took about 1-1/2 hours which seems long, until you remember that they are applying one extension to one of your natural lashes. And you are in a relaxing spa-like environment. The one thing you need to remember is DO NOT OPEN YOUR EYES. Or let them know if you need to so that they can be prepared for that. When I was done...I couldn't believe how I looked. WOW!!! I just had to do a yelp review for Kimmie after the experience that I had with her. Love, love, LOVE my lashes. If you are looking for beautiful, quality work and excellent customer service, this is the place. I called Kimmie yesterday and left a message explaining that I'm due to give birth on Thurs and only now realized that lash extensions would be great for "prettifying" the typical haggard post-birth look. I was desperate and hoping they could squeeze me in the next few days or call if any cancelations. I wanted to still look pretty even though I was sure I wouldn't have time or care to put on makeup. I got a callback that same morning and even though Kimmie was technically done for the day (a rare opening for a new client and even more rare half day for her) she was willing to wait for me (I live in salt lake) to drive over and do my lashes. As I sat getting my lashes put on, Kimmie was very friendly and kept a nice, easy conversation going that helped the time pass quickly. She is also very light with her hands and you feel no tugging or pulling whatsoever while she is working. The end result was simply amazing. I have had eyelash extensions before, and these blow the prior extensions out of the water! They are beautifully uniform, and look natural but still make my eyes pop. Yes, they cost a pretty penny, but for such high quality workmanship, it is absolutely worth it. Additionally, she has the proper training and accolades to perform eyelash extensions where other "cheaper" spots are probably lacking. You don't want to mess with cheapy options when it comes to something so delicate as your eye!! Love getting lashes at Kimmie Jacob!!! I recently relocated back to Honolulu (my home) from the mainland...and I am so happy that I was able to find Kimmie Jacob (through yelp and instagram). I have had lash extensions for a few years, and have tried different brands from xtreme lashes, novalash, blink, etc.... but honestly, the lashes, technique and adhesive that Kimmie Jacob uses are all the best!!! Sophia is my extremely talented lash artist! I have been back for 2 relashes, (once every three weeks), and it always turns out wonderful...so full and beautiful. I can't believe I didn't get eyelash extensions sooner! I've been missing out all these years! With a lot of research, I decided to go with Kimmie Jacob because of her great Yelp reviews. The salon is in a great location next to the Main police station. Place is clean, cozy but also had a modern ambience to it.. They were prompt in scheduling my first lash extension. I'm so pleased with Erin's work.. She's skilled at what she does and has the sweetest personality. I decided to do the volume lashes because I wanted my eyes to pop! And Erin definitely did not disappoint .. I actually fell asleep because it was so relaxing. After two hrs, I woke up to beautiful lashes. It's been 3 weeks and just got my partial relash. I told Erin to make it a bit more subtle as I had an event to attend in couple days... She's so attentive and made it perfect again. Love them lashes! This was my very 1st time at Kimmie Jacobs...also my 1st time for eyelash extensions. I was referred to Erin and she is Amazing! I was a bit nervous, I heard and seen many botched eyelashes. She made me feel super comfortable and just walked me through exactly what she would be doing. She's so friendly, easy to talk to and just did a great job with my lashes. I have always heard good things from this place! I finally decided to give it a try and I am really happy to have stopped here! I got my lashes done by Landai and she is absolutely the sweetest girl ever!! She did an amazing job and I haven't had that many lashes fall out since she's done them.
