Dr. Kindred was my doctor for over 15 years. I was under his care with full-blown cervical/uterine cancer. My tumor was so big, ER doctors first thought it was a dead baby. When the surgeon went to remove it, he said it was pushing my bladder almost completely closed, had spread to my lymph nodes, was in my bowels, and somehow into my ureters. My kidneys were beginning to shut down. The oncologist also said he was surprised I could urinate anymore. When they first gave me the news of the "mass" and told me how large it was, I knew that was IMPOSSIBLE because Kindred had just tied my tubes only 3 months before! I really trusted Dr. Kindred. I had been having cancer symptoms for nearly two years and going in for bleeding between my cycles. I felt like I was getting extra menstrual cycles. He gave me my regular gynecological care, which was normal and would take labs and say my hormones needed to be adjusted. Now, I feel like a fool for this, but I trusted him. In the hospital, I had to have an emergency radical hysterectomy. I needed so much cancer treatment that my quality of life is now very poor. I have severe lymphedema in my right leg that will NEVER go away, I now am at risk for lung cancer, my bone marrow is shutting down from all the chemo and radiation, I can't eat a normal diet anymore and have chronic pain in my bladder, leg, digestive tract, vagina, and rectum. Towards my diagnosis date, I definitely realized something was wrong because I started having pain but I NEVER dreamt that I was walking around with advanced cancer. I even had a "normal" pap smear and asked how that was possible. My gyne oncologist told me that is was a poor quality pap smear because he said that there was no way I didn't have cancer when Dr. Kindred took the last smear. The best part is that when I went to get a copy of my chart, he removed most of my visits. Guess he was more concerned about being sued than my health. Doctors are human beings and as a patient, I feel like they are going to make mistakes. I accept that fact and know it's all part of the risk. Dr. Kindred showed absolutely zero remorse for what happened to me as a result of his negligence and took no responsibility. Removing parts of my health record to cover his own ass was inhuman. Doctors have no idea how far taking a little responsibility for a screw up can go for the patient they made the mistake on. I feel like taking the risk and being vulnerable enough to admit you screwed up would probably lower their risk of malpractice. I have recently passed my 5 year treatment anniversary and 38% of the women with my diagnosis make it this far. I'm grateful to be in that 38% but mourn that 62% that didn't make it and even experience survivor's guilt. I'm quite proud of my strength and endurance. Having cancer has certainly shown me that I am quite the fighter, a silver lining, I suppose, and there are many of those for sure. Until Dr. Kindred takes some responsibility for the hurt he has inflicted upon some of his patients, myself included, I wouldn't trust him to euthanize someone's dying pet. read more

I like Dr. Kindred. He's been my gyn for around 12 years, the only gyn I've ever had. He's made me feel comfortable and I feel like he takes the time to explain things to me. I've got issues and have had about a dozen visits there this year and he will soon perform surgery on me and I feel very comfortable with that. I've not felt like his staff is rude at all, but not overly friendly either. I think they can work on that and smile or chat more. I also think for being such a big, aesthetically nice environment, it would be nice to have water and/or coffee available. I would give five stars, but this doctor is popular and busy and it is true - if you just have an annual exam, it's harder to get in than if you are pregnant or are having other procedures done, and even though I have issues, it's still usually 4 weeks before I can get in for follow ups. Sonograms have been quick and easy and I don't wait in the waiting room for very long, but I have waited almost an hour in the exam room in the past. The exam rooms are a little chilly and could have some reading material in there. Although I wait, when I see Dr. K, I feel like he is not rushing me and will answer all of my questions thoroughly and that is most important. I'd rather him take the time with patients and that way he will take his time with me. There was only one time that Dr. K was not available, so his NP did my exam, no biggie. I also like that Dr. K is an expert in fertility issues and likes to use less invasive homeopathic treatments. He is friendly to my hubby who typically accompanies me to appointments and he likes to joke too. read more

Yuck, this place is all show and no substance. I was going to this office to a Nurse Practitioner who I loved. Apparently, she had some issues with this office and decided to move. Well, she wasn't allowed by either Dr. K or the staff to notify HER OWN clients. When I got my reminder call for my appointment they casually informed me it would be with Dr. K! Um, kind of a big deal to go from a woman to a man. But I had to go because otherwise my prescriptions wouldn't be renewed in time and they knew that. I experienced over an hour wait, something that had not happened with my nurse practioner and then when I was leaving I asked for her info. They told me they weren't allowed to give that info out! After fuming about this for awhile I called and asked for my medical records. I was told I had to come there and fill out a medical request IN PERSON. No, I could not get one faxed/emailed to me and send it back that way. So I drive there and after filing it out I am told I will need to come back and pay the copy charges. Can I pay up front?? NOPE, they don't know the cost until my file is pulled. A few days later, I get a call that they know my charges, can I come pay them. So I drive there and pay it. Can I wait while they copy the file so I can be done with these a**holes?? NOPE, you will need to have them mailed or you can come back for them for the THIRD time. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a medical facility and from what I could see in the waiting room on my excessive visits for my records, 99% of his patient base are paying their bills with my tax money. I found Sherry Hartenbower, my awesome Nurse Practitioner at Teverbaugh, Croland and Mueller despite her previous office's every attempt to force me to remain their client. I would rather go to Planned Parenthood than Dr. Kindred's office. read more

First he is a great doctor, IF you are pregnant, are trying to be, or have just had a baby. If you are just a regular gyn patient then forget it. He just has no time for you. You can get in with his nurse practitioner though. My issue with his office is with his staff, mainly the receptionists. They are rude, condescending and overall not very polite. Wondering where customer service went. Does it not apply to the medical field? I am not the only person who has had this issue either. Dr. Kindred came very highly recommended to me when I became pregnant with my first child- I have no idea why because he was awful. First off, he has WAY too many patients. You can sit in that waiting room for 2 hours for an appt that takes 15 minutes. On top of that, his office staff is completely unorganized and had no clue what was going on from one appt to the next, which is very unsettling with a first pregnancy. Whenever he finally came into the room, he was always in a hurry to leave- he was condescending and acted like every question I had was the dumbest question he'd ever been asked. The worst part was how he just didn't care about anything. I was having crippling heartburn that would bring me to tears. I begged him to give me something and he refused. He told me to just take Tums and avoid certain foods- even after I told him I was already doing that. When I finally gave birth, it took him forever to get to the hospital. My daughter's head was out by the time he came into the room, and his med student, who was in there before him, was panicking. Ridiculous. I got pregnant a second time, and I saw Dr. Tracy Bochantin who was AMAZING. Never had any of the problems that I did with Dr. Kindred. Again, I was having terrible heartburn. When I told her about it, she immediately wrote me an Rx. One tiny pill a day and no more heartburn at all. Now why couldn't Dr. Kindred do that??? Needless to say, I stuck with Dr. Bochantin with my third pregnancy and couldn't have been happier with her. Stay away from Dr. Kindred!!!!! read more

Dr Kindred is one of the best OB Dr's in Peoria. I am a health care professional who has worked along side many OB Dr's and he is one of my favorites. I have been a patient of his for over 20 years. He delivered all six of my children. He is the reason my husband and I even have children. In the beginning we couldn't get pregnant. After running some tests and having some surgeries we were able to start our family with his help. Dr. Kindred is a wonderful Dr and he has a great staff. What a caring doctor! I have been a patient of Dr. Kindred's for six years. I know one surgery turned out badly, but there are warnings about the risk all over. I went ahead and had the same surgery a year after that one and all went well! Dr. Kindred is very intelligent and loves to learn. I can present little known treatments (such as Dr. Shoemaker's protocol for Biotoxin Illness or StopTheThyroidMadness methods) and he knows about them and has looked into them. He takes patient input seriously and you don't feel like you have no choice. I have had him delay his family vacation to help me in the hospital. This doctor goes above and beyond in order to help his patients. His waiting list may be long, but that's because he has so many patients who respect him and are thankful for his help. This was my first visit to Dr. Kindred. I was pleasantly greeted by the receptionist. I was 30 minutes early, however, was given the proper forms right away. I was taken to the exam room and was actually ready to be seen by the doctor at my exact scheduled time. There was minimal time waiting for the doctor. Dr. Kindred introduced himself to me and introduced me to the intern that was shadowing him that day (the nurse asked my permission for the intern to come in during the exam). Dr. Kindred was very pleasant and attentive. He took my history and actually listened to what I was saying. He also took time to make sure the intern was learning as we went. He informed me of some new options for some of my problems and recommended a complete blood workup before the two of us together would create a plan for my health. From Dr. Kindred to the rest of his staff...Thank you! As most women agree, the gynecologist is not the most looked forward to exam...I was completely comfortable and put at ease. I went to Dr. Kindred from high school until about 26, which included one pregnancy & birth. Over the years his client base grew & grew, and yes the wait time increased tremendously. Being pregnant & driving almost an hour to get there then sit another hour, it was too much. Often while I was waiting a nurse would come out & ask if I would just rather see the NP or midwife as there would be no wait for them, which I did. Came to really like the NP Diane & have since gone over to her @ Teverbaugh's. She really takes the time to listen & talk with me & there was not a long wait at all. I believe Dr. Kindred is a good man & a good doctor, I trusted him w/my delivery, but was a bit discouraged when I was seeing him every 2 weeks during pregnancy & he didn't know my case at all, & even called me the wrong name. Felt like none of the staff there reviewed my chart, just so busy. Loved their sonographer though! read more
