Kinfolks Flatstone Grill is a fairly new spot in Riverbank, and it serves some of the most unique, well-executed food we've had anywhere in the Central Valley. We ordered the Bánh Mì Chicken Sandwich, Pork Belly Adobo Bowl, Fried Plantains, and Spicy Cauliflower Bites. Everything was super flavorful. The cauliflower bites had the perfect crunch, the plantains were sweet and delicious, and both the sandwich and bowl were fantastic. It's rare to find a restaurant with a creative menu where every dish delivers. We're already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. read more

Came here today after seeing some advertisements on social media and man am I glad we did! The food was amazing fresh hot and fast service. Will definitely be back! What we got The classic smash 10/10! This burger was sooo good the only thing I'd personally change was it had too many grilled onions for me but the burger was juicy, cheese was melted, garlic sauce was bomb and the pickles were good. All around good burger. Latin bowl and my boyfriend said it was really tasty everything was fresh. The chicken Caesar salad sandwich another 10/10 sandwich. My friend got this but let me take a bite and it was so good crispy juicy chicken topped with a Caesar salad on top I would definitely order this next time. Her son got the kids burger and LOVED IT. he said it tasted like in n out which is his favorite lol we also got a side of curly fries and a side of sidewinder fries. I would definitely order the curly fries again the sidewinder fries were ok but not a favorite or mine. I wish they had fountain drinks they only have a weird selection of cans and bottles not even regular soda really lol just Coke Zero in small tall cans and diet coke and a few others. I'm so glad you have a new restaurant in Riverbank. Overall, I think their food is good and the prices are fair. I do wish they had more drink options like a fountain or a freestyle machine. I do feel the prices of their drinks are a bit overpriced. I've gone twice. The first time I had the Banh Mi Chicken and the second time, Hot Honey Chicken. The former was definitely better than the latter. The fries are really good. I feel that their menu is a bit too nuanced. As someone who doesn't eat pork, I'd like to see a few more burgers that offering non-pork toppings. Right not, there's only 1. The staff was really good and offered great customer service. New spot in downtown Riverbank. Definitely a nice addition and great spot to get food. They were extremely friendly and the service was quick. Only improvements for food we recommended: the elote could be more creamy/sauce driven, and sauce to chicken ratio for the teriyaki chicken is slightly overpowering. Besides that, we enjoyed our chicken sandwiches and the tetris tots were super good. The interior is decorated with such a vibe too. We tried kinfolks, it's spacious for a smaller location, very open industrial feel. The staff were nice and it was very clean in there. The chairs were not comfortable (just hard metal). It was over $90 so that seems much for burgers etc. I think it's a "try it once" restaurant. (For us) read more

Came here for the first time today . We were greeted with a friendly welcome in . We ended up ordering the guacamole chicken sandwich and the chicken Caesar sandwich a side of seasoned curly fries and spicy cauliflower. The sandwiches were good and so were the fries I personally didn't care too much for the spicy cauliflower but I appreciate them having that option on their menu . Fast service, nice employees smash burgers my rib eye was great with all the fixings I ask for no pickles , they were in it . My wife chicken parmesan sauce was a little bit too much on the burger. Twister potato fries were good . No ice tea plenty other to drink, waiting for their beer license soon. Points for the outdoor seating , also very spacious inside . Customer service was excellent! The man at the register was very kind and let me know I had plenty of time to eat and there was no rush ! ( I came in about 40 min before closing ) I ordered the hot honey chicken sandwich and spicy cauliflower bites . The hot honey sandwich was good ,but honestly the chicken was a bit too dry . This was my first time to this place. I believe it's fairly new. It's in my hometown and I believe locally owned. I was pretty excited to go here and I'm glad I did. They were very fast which was nice. I love the inside and how it's decorated the food was good, not overwhelming but good. I got the hot honey sandwich. This ended up being a little hard to eat because there was so much honey on it that it's soaked the buns in the plate and was pretty drippy. All in all, I would go back again. read more

First timer here! Service was friendly, and the young guy was really helpful at helping me decide what to order. So here's my honest review- We ordered a smokehouse smash burger, a prime rib burger, potato salad, and Tetris tots. The prime rib burger was absolutely delicious! The Smokehouse smash was not that great, due to the meat not really resembling a smash burger, and being kinda thick and tough. The potato salad and tots were not my favorite either. I will definitely be returning back for the ribeye smash, and to also try other items. read more

Going to give it 5 stars BUT..... This place will last. Incredible staff, great menu with some great diversity. Sampled 3 starters and Two entrees with my husband. Food was good! Place is clean and fun. Just a good vibe all around. The prices on the sides are very cheap! Bowls are $16 and I think can be there biggest earner for people wanting quick takeout bowls. However, both bowls were ordered had a very small portion of chicken. Lots of rice. Needs double the amount of chicken served. There are no good teriyaki chicken places here. It's so exciting to have a new place to eat in town, owned by real people and not a repetitive chain restaurant. I got the baconnaise smash burger and it was pretty good. I liked the sidewinder style fries; they were crispy and tasty. They have a really interesting menu, which I have included a photo of. The decor is dark but warm, cozy and eclectic. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We were checked on frequently. Those are the pros, and I have to be honest and leave my comments for what could be improved; for one, they do not have any combos. Everything is separate - burger and fries are separate items on the menu. Next - drinks: they have bottled drinks as well as a self-serve ice water dispenser, which I enjoyed, however, fountain drinks would be great; perhaps a Coke freestyle machine so all of the full sugar and sugar free peeps could have their drinks just the way they like them. Let's talk about the sidewinder fries; they were delicious and some were deliciously crispy, but some were cut just way too thick and I didn't eat those. Walked in and the atmosphere was filled with good music, laughs, conversations, and welcoming smiles. A great place to take a family for a nice meal and you could tell. It was busy, but they were quick and I was served quickly. One of the servers Leo was super attentive and very helpful with his recommendations. Now the food... 10/10 so good! The curly fries were a great side. And the smokehouse smash burger was incredible. Burgers had lots of flavor and were cooked great! And the chipotle aioli was the perfect addition. My only complaint is that there wasn't more aioli because of how good it was! Will definitely be back with more people to try this place! read more

We went to kinfolk tonight for dinner, excited to try this new Resturant. After a very underwhelming experience I emailed the Resturant instead of putting a negative review out, I explained that the food was incredibly bland and the service could use improvement, mostly in that it was not busy and no one came to even see how the food was or how we were doing. Well the response was so arrogant, that I decided everyone should know, they don't give a crap about your thoughts on their awful food and if you choose to not include the pickles (which are on every sandwich/burger, it's your fault that the food sucks. I was very hopeful for this new spot as downtown needs good restaurants but with arrogant leadership and mediocre food we certainly wont be back read more

Drinks are out of a refrigerator. Thats a minus. They are just cold. Nothing like iced soda out of a fountain. Korean cole slaw had a kinda strong flavor. Not really a fan. Brew dog, nothing special. The hot dog was probably cooked in boiling water, didn't have that grilled color muchless flavor. Bahn mi fried chicken sandwich was ok. Nothing exciting. I'll definitely go back for the baconise burger, I gotta get fries with a burger so I have to order the fries even though I don't like that style. I'll give another chicken sandwich. A fresh young flavor to the 209. The staff was amazing, I loved how they were engaged with the customers and answered our questions (no matter how ridiculous they seemed). This place is perfect for a young crowd--I would suggest going here before or after a movie. Now the food. I had a smash burger. It was fresh, well seasoned, and the cheese was perfect. The sidewinder fries are perfect, nice and thick--I recommend sharing these because they are generous with their servings.
