    Dim sum area
    Vicky L.

It is your typical Chinese buffet with a plethora of fried items, mid sushi, and rows and rows of hot and cold food items. This buffet was so packed on a weeknight during dinner time. Almost no more tables were available by six/seven pm. The booths and tables are very close in proximity so be prepared to be squeezing in and out of your seat when you return to the buffet for more. The buffet area is not very clean and the staff do not come often to sanitize from what I see. Plates are stacked high for the volume of guests they have and food is constantly replaced though! They have a few rows of cold food items including salads, slaws, and chilled seafood including squid and shrimp. Hot food items include anything from chicken wings, sesame balls, eggrolls, cream cheese rangoons, to soups, stir fried veggies, noodles, fried rice, beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, kung pao chicken, and much more...you get the idea. However, a notable mention is their dim sum area. They have several types of buns, chicken feet, pork shumai, beef tripe, beef offal, beancurd rolls, and more. The quality of said items are very mid and cannot compare to an actual dim sum restaurant though I do appreciate the variety. The sushi bar has fried maki rolls, regular sushi rolls, as well as sashimi and sushi besides the seaweed salad, picked ginger, served with wasabi and soy sauce. These items are also plentiful but not exactly fresh and tasty if you know what I'm saying! Desserts include stale cakes, jello, pudding, watery soft serve ice cream from their machine, and chocolate fondue with fruit/marshmallow skewers. The price of the buffet varies like all other typical Chinese buffets, depending if its a weekday, weekend, lunch or dinner time, and whether or not its a holiday. They offer kids prices and senior discounts as well. The restroom was also ick. Overall, nothing really stood out to me at this buffet and I wouldn't come back again because there are so many better buffets at a similar price point. Unfortunately this has been one of the most disappointing Chinese buffets I've been to though both the variety and the service deserves a star...I wish I like it more.

Probably the ugliest plate of food I have uploaded to Yelp

What a busy busy night on Labor Day! I was shocked to see so many people here but also excited because that meant the food was turning quickly and fresh! I wasn't a fan of everything I ate but there are so many options and a lot of the it is really good. Buffet food can be tricky but these people know what they are doing. They had crawfish tonight and BOY were people piling their plates high with them. I really wish the snow crab legs were available. Must be on other days that they have those. Service was great. Drinks stayed filled and empty plates were removed quickly.

Back for our annual Christmas Day lunch with dessert. Like so many other friends/families that want to get out for a meal and not have to prep/clean up themselves. Good nr. of customers as always. We got seating for two right away. Larger groups might have to wait awhile. New for us was the Dim Sum options see new photos.

Absolutely the best Chinese buffet I have eaten at in the Dallas area. They have a large selection of food to choose from Including your typical Chinese buffet Foods, American foods, an awesome assortment of sushi and California rolls and they even have a Mongolian Grill / hibachi. On top of having really awesome food they are extremely clean in my opinion compared to other Chinese buffets even with being extremely busy they maintain standards. With great food comes along lines or at least on the weekends anyways, So be prepared to wait for a little bit to be seated or do what we do and go early to beat the dinner rush. *Poor *Decent *Ok *Good *Great *Best *JLFoodie Certified Prices. Good Food. Great Service. Great Cleanliness. Great Consistency. Great Variety. Great Value. Great

Really enjoyed the food, the servers were efficient but seemingly somewhat rushed. This is true with each of my 7-8 time visits.

Our waitress was very attentive from the beginning and offered enthusiastic recommendations. Our pork bone broth was delicious and we tried many kinds of meat and add ins, and they were great with sane portions. Didn't really feel like we missed out on anything by not buying the extra charge items and we both filled up quickly. There's little desserts at the sauce bar, and also a few things off the menu. We tried them all and found them neutral overall in flavor; nothing impressive, but still pleasant. The difficult thing about this place is the price. A few $ more than Seapot, but you also have to pay for broth, which can add up to $14 more PER broth, which is why bf and I only got one. So while I'd say this place was very good, Seapot is better value and would be my choice over this place. However, bf and I agreed that this place is definitely a better choice over Hai Di Lao.

The house spicy broth was very spicy and gave me a small bout of diarrhea a few hours later. I will stick to the pork broth next time. We ordered lamb, pork belly, beef belly, and beef tongue. We also ordered squid, octopus, and quail egg. They put a cart by our table to put all our meat and sides on, which was nice. The sauce was alright. They had soy sauce, vinegar, shacha (Chinese bbq) sauce, and sesame oil. My bf did not like the shacha sauce. When one person on the table ordered a (non water) drink, everyone on the table was expected to get one. I just got water though, because all their drinks were sugary.

I'm glad the staff are knowledgeable about the place they work, and the energy surrounding the place is nice too. Peaceful and quiet chatter amongst others and no unpleasant noises or disturbances. The food is definitely something to praise too. I always end up eating nearly 2-3 all you can eat plates of bulgogi myself, their shrimp, and la galbi (beef short rib) are quite nice too. But the side dishes are my absolute favorite! Although the chicken and dipping sauces aren't something to fuss over, they're not horrible. Top recommendation: Bulgogi, la galbi & side dishes I'm looking forward to coming back again, and hopefully (unlike the many times before) I leave room for dessert! The yakgwa sundae looks promising.

As regular patrons of hot pot for date night, bf and I decided to try this place…read more I'll sort by pros and cons as I see it related to other hot pot places we've had: PROS: - Hot pot and BBQ grill at the same time for the same price! Great value there - Fairly large vegetable/noodle/etc bar - Waiters were incredibly attentive - All meats tasted high quality CONS: - No true "sauce bar"--I kind of tried to replicate my usual combo using the salad supplies and sauces - The meats are clearly made for either the grill or the pot 80% of the time with very few that can do both. For example, pork belly (grill) is different from THIN pork belly (pot). Beef belly worked best in the pot. Chicken worked best on the grill. Etc - Beef broth I got for my hotpot was decent but worse than most pork bone broths I default to For the same price as Seapot, I'd still personally prefer Seapot. But I think this place does best a lot of competition like Nan and Hai Di Lao. Give it a try for sure.

You are allowed to order 3 dishes each round for the apps. They come around with the pasta and meat portions. Bad thing is that you can never say no! Ambiance: it felt so cute and cozy! There was live music and gave such a homey vibe for a high scale restaurant. Looking around, every table was there to celebrate some kind of event so make sure to make reservations! Until my most recent visit, Casa Pollastro was one of my favorite restaurants in the DFW area…read more Unfortunately, I did not love this last visit. First of all, I got an email inviting me to come visit the restaurant with a buy one get one free, but it kind of seemed like they were annoyed that we were using it. This could be just my anxiety, but I felt like we were treated a little bit less warmly by some of the staff than other tables. For example, a manager of some type was walking the floor. He stopped at the table before us and checked in on them, skipped us and went to the table after us and checked in on them, and then only on his way back to wherever he was going, he stopped reluctantly and acknowledged us. It definitely made me feel like we were not as welcome as the other tables. Second, I don't like the inclusion of the picanha for the higher price (vs. what they were doing before which was an upcharge if you wanted the steak), because the protein that I like at Casa Pollastro is the chicken. I don't really love their steak and do not want to pay $10pp more for it. Lastly, what I had loved about this restaurant in the past was that it felt like I was enjoying a meal at a family home, served with love and care. I think that they've made some changes which are smart for a restaurant, but it took away a lot of the warm and fuzzies for me. It felt like they're trying really hard to be a high-end restaurant but what I remember from this last experience was coldness and putting profit first. Now I can't be mad if they want to grow up as a restaurant and this is just part of the growing pains, but I will mourn the loss of the experience that we loved so much that we chose to have our engagement party at this restaurant. We will not be back.
