The service is amazing. This is our first time here and immediately were greeted but the guys at the counter and felt super welcomed. We have our 1 and 2 year old with us and the guys were so nice to them and let us know they are allowed in. We ordered the chips and queso and the Smokey The Pig pizza. I really wanted to try the Elote pizza, but I'll just have an excuse to come back again another time. I'm glad we went with the Smokey. It's like eating tacos and a pizza I had the Cry till you're Dry cider (I may have the name wrong) it was so good. It was perfect for the weather. I had no idea this place was here but I'm very glad to have stumbled upon it. I'm looking forward to the next visit. read more

Maybe my hopes were too high as I heard this brewery was the best in Sacramento but it was only mediocre to me. I ordered a Mexican lager and it was super dark for one and came with no lime. I also got the gorilla beer which was a pale ale I believe and it was just ok. The pretzels were nice and soft as well, they came with a house made queso blanco and mustard that were both good. This venue was small and honestly underwhelming. It does seem like a place were everyone knows eachother and just swings by after work to watch a sports game with a casual beer. So it's not bad just didn't think their beers were anything great. read more

Called this spot when I was in the area to check out a comedian at the Punch Line. In need to fill out a craving for pizza, this spot showed up on my list that was nearby. It was actually 10 minutes away from where I needed to be, but it was fine.. pizza craving was strong. The longer I drove out, the more my regret for choosing the spot was getting stronger. Good thing I called ahead to order the combo pizza. When I arrived, the pizza was done and I sacrificed my tongue to eat it because I needed to fill my stomach before the show. Driving and eating hot pizza is not the business but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. That pizza, the first bite was LEGIT. So damn good, it's not even funny! My husband surprised me with pizza and beer to start off the weekend after a long day, and I'm so glad he ordered from here! We've eaten here before, but it has been a while, and we had a few things we wanted to try. We ordered the elote, angry Hawaiian and chicken pesto pizzas, as well as the Prague At Night dark Czech lager. OMG! The pesto chicken pizza was surprisingly good, the pesto and chicken were an excellent pairing. For me though, the stars were the elote pizza and the lager. Both are a must. Came here last night to meet up with a friend. The location isn't really that great at all. Parking seemed limited. They seemed to focus more on IPAs which is cool but they really lacked sour ale options which was slightly disappointing. Their food could be better as well. My chicken bacon sandwich didn't have much chicken in it at all. My buddy's nachos were okay but they had baked beans and beer cheese which didn't really mix well together. The marinara sauce with their jalapeno cheese bread looked and tasted off with bubbles in the container and the lid looked like it was gonna pop off. Their loaded baked beans and pretzel sticks with beer cheese and mustard were good. My beer wasn't bad but I wish they offered more sours and didn't have 80% of their menu be IPAs. The service was great though as they were helpful and got the long lines down fast. I might give them another shot and try other menu items but I probably won't go all the way there from Elk Grove unless I'm already in the area. read more

I'm well overdue for reviewing this place! This is my favorite brewery in Sacramento. Beer - The beer is amazing! My personal favorites are the IPA's, La Xingona and Orangutan. I always love the art on the cans. The labels are always really cool and creative. Food - The Elote pizza is my favorite! If I had to choose one thing to eat for the rest of my life, it would probably be this pizza! Atmosphere - This brewery has a super chill and welcoming vibe. It's a place where the community can come together. It seems like the owner really cares about the community and wants the brewery to have a positive impact on the neighborhood. Some girlfriends and I stopped in on a Tuesday night, drawn in by the large Connect Four game. However, it ended up being a rainy and windy night, so no outside time was had. That being said, we had a good time. We arrived by 5pm and got seats pretty quickly. By 7pm, it was definitely more crowded. The main guy behind the counter was chill and nice about letting us try some beers before ordering. The selection is vast, with over 10 beers to choose from. Not all the beers were trendy, hoppy IPAs, which I normally love, but I appreciate a brewery that has some variety - and does the different types well! We enjoyed the pale ale, amber, and stout- as well as the DIPAs. I was also pleasantly surprised by the pizzas. I've had not so great pizzas in Sac, so I was pleasantly surprised how much I liked theirs. My favorite was surprisingly the Market Place, with its great abundance of veggies and feta. I wish there had been other non-alcoholic options besides water, but I know that can be hard to come by. I'd love to come back another time and get in on that Connect Four! read more

A very nice experience here at King Cong Brewing. They have many choices of beers / IPA available. I'm setting in the beautiful patio area just right behind the bar. It is a very enjoyable and relaxing area with friends here for a few IPA and enjoys the yummy pizzas. I'm a little worried about the location of the area where King Cong Brewing is located. The area wasn't very safe a few years ago. However, the area is charged a lot in the last few years. I can see the street is clean. They have more businesses opened up in the area. The street parking is available and looks safe to me. The area is much better than what I thought a few years ago. We're here on a Wednesday evening. They are not very busy. Only one very sweet lady taking care of all the service for the front. She has handled the jobs very well. We have a good time! read more

A nice hidden gem in North Sacramento! Stopped by here for some drinks and eats after going to a gallery opening across the street. My husband and I both ordered a beer each (can't remember the names ,but I got one that was a light wheat beer and my hubby got an amber ale) as well as two pork banh mi sandwiches and stuffed mushroom appetizer. All costing under $30! The pricing is fantastic and the food was tasty. The ambience in the brewing company is adorable and you can tell that it is very much catered to the local neighborhood and has a cozy vibe. Board games were at the ready, basketball game on the TVs-- it is a brewing company that is fantastic for any demographic! My only complaint is honestly the beer-- it's quite unremarkable but for the ambience and the food, it's worth a visit here! read more

Ceaser Salad I wouldn't reccomend this dish. Mine was overly dressed and served with a fresh sliced jalapeno on top. Resulting in a less than satisfactory flavor combination. Pulled Pork Tacos As an entree it left me hungry and wishing it came with a side(s) to accompany. The Pulled Pork Shoulder is a much better deal and won't leave you thinking about portion control. My 2 buddies visiting from Redding wanted to try a brewery. I myself had not tried King Cong so that was my choice due to reading their past reviews. Situated in the slightly gentrifying area of Del Paso Blvd., it is definitely not a nice area. Iam sure it was chosen due to the low rent and large space they needed. So we parked too far away by accident and walked about 5 blocks or so passing bag ladies and homeless and beat up old storefronts that harkened back to better days in their past. We arrived and ordered a beer each after a few samples by our excellent bartender Evan. He was great. Explained beers and bantered with us with patience. I got their pale ale. I didn't care much for it. I also tried their marzen and it was ok. I prefer stouts and porters but they only had one stout and it is pricey for how much you get. Outside in the back we went and they had a ping pong table, cornhole, puzzle games etc. Very cool. We sat under the party tent and were the only ones out back at around 4pm. It was happy hour so beers were $1 off. We also got a spinach and artichoke pizza for $16 and it was phenomenal. I read they use house beer to make the dough! I have had pizza and all kinds of it and am a pizza snob. I can say this pizza was oozing with cheese, just enough toppings and an incredibly crispy crust that was light and soft. To boot, they served it with some awesome chili oil. Man, we all ate that pizza up in no time! My buds got IPAs and liked them. My review is not for the beer. It is for Evan the bartender. Personable and easygoing. It is for the patio area out back that was family friendly and a place to chill after work. It was for the great pizza and cleanliness of this small brewery. One star removed as one person on staff was rude last time we were in. Was placing an order for two more beers and some food, she grabbed the beers while I was ordering, then just bounced to go sit at the bar with her friends. She literally left me standing at the counter waiting to order the rest and never even looked over. wtf was that? Being preggos and not being able to drink all the variety is rough but the pizza is delicious. Definitely makes me want to get a brick pizza oven and make my own. The crust on the pizza was not chewy or crunch but the perfect blend that I actually literally could have at the whole pizza myself. We ordered a combination pizza and I literally ate the entire thing myself, almost. The others ordered the salmon one and from what the group said it was delicious as well. I don't think you can go wrong with the pizza and beer here. Will definitely come back to try to beer next time when this kid is evicted from my belly. Great little brewery in north Sac great outdoor seating and awesome music with beautiful outdoor atmosphere. The pizza made pizza great again and great A+ service. The mushroom appetizer was outstanding with goat cheese and the outdoor area is perfect to meet friends and have some good fun and good times and leave Covid worries behind. We popped in here last weekend on a whim just to check it out and grab a beer and we wound up staying for hours! Their patio is fun and inviting with a giant tent and then some tables in the sun. There are colorful murals on the walls outside and it is super dog friendly! The inside is really cool looking too. I like the vibes a lot. My bf really enjoyed the Orangutan Double IPA while I was really enjoying the Gorilla Pale Ale. We had eaten before we got there so didn't order food other than some of their pickled veggies but everything that came out looks REALLY good. Can't wait to go back! read more

This brewery has changed a lot since my first visit two years ago. The beer is still great but the menu and back patio have gotten even better! They added salads, sandwiches, and a variety of new pizzas to the menu. I had an order of pesto twist which were outstanding. They are twists of pizza dough topped with pesto and cheese. The cheese on the edges was crispy, but not burned, which was a nice touch. They came with a side of ranch but by no means need it. The back patio has a tent which I don't remember, or was too drunk to remember, from before. The whole area seems bigger and there's a big screen TV. There's a small live music stage in the back corner. The bartender told me that live music may be returning soon. There's even trivia on Thursday nights if that's your thing. The crowd is chill and they have one of the nicest bartenders I've met in Sacramento. Five stars all the way! read more

Tasty beers and debatably even tastier food! I meet up with a friend here to grab a drink while driving through the area. I loved how spacious and comfortable their back area was. We ordered drinks and a bahn mi pizza at the front. They had beers on draft and a lot of cans. We brought the drinks back with us and the food was brought to our table. During covid times you need to order a food item per tab, it was definitely worth it. Each beer I had was good and they had a nice selection. The pizza is as amazing! Fresh flavors and a unique combo. I will definitely be back! They were starting trivia night, Thursday evening however I needed to get home so I couldn't stay for the whole thing. I am commenting on their DELICIOUS beers! I was blown away by their variety of IPAs and other beers - Kolsch and Pale Ales. I am happy with a lot of local beers in Oakland and Alameda, but King Cong out of Sacramento is producing some excellent craft beer. No one beats their incredible artistic labels. So happy to be able to now find it in the East Bay, like at Trader Joe's. There is always room for more Excellent Craft Beer. read more

Good service, a solid simple food menu, nice spacious facilities, including a big outdoor cover patio for larger groups. Their sausage and cheese calzone is tasty and not a bit greasy. It's nice to have some solid food options available. The crust was very good. (I have been told that they use some of the Brewers yeast to make the the pizza dough crust!) Oh, yes, and the Monkey Bash Porter on nitro is quite tasty. It was hard to decide between it and the very smooth milk stout. King Cong is a nice addition to the local craft brew scene. I finally got around to ordering some pizza and beer, and man, I wish I had done it sooner! The wife and I ordered the Angry Hawaiian and the Banh Mi pizza, along with the Orangutan beer. All were awesome. Next will have to be the Elote and Smokey the Pig pizzas! If the food is this good via DoorDash, I know it will be even better when it's straight out of the oven.
