I would see Emily once a week during my last trimester and not only were her treatments amazing, but I am convinced it was because of her treatments that I had a perfect natural labor and delivery. While seeing Emily all my aches and pains were gone, sleep was better and energy was up....and anyone in their third trimester knows how important treating those are. I went to Emily for acupuncture during the late stages of a complicated pregnancy because my doctors told me that if I didn't go into labor spontaneously by about 40 weeks, they would induce me (something I didn't want). I started sessions with Emily around 37-38 weeks. She was amazing, squeezing me into her packed schedule, offering to come in on her off days, staying after 5pm and switching patients around to get me all the treatment i needed! Initially she started off with gentle techniques. She didn't feel that it would be appropriate to use her stronger methods until after 38 weeks. I have to say that after every single session with her I felt totally amazing! Tons of energy and so happy and uplifted. It was like magic. =) I convinced my husband to try a session with her due to some health problems, and I noticed immediately after the session that he was the happiest and most energetic I had seen him in years! Results: At 39.5 weeks (a couple days after a session with Emily) my water broke. My contractions started slow and were irregular. This was my second pregnancy so I knew that slow and irregular contractions eventually meant pitocin (also something I didn't want), so I using the methods Emily taught me to encourage labor and contractions, and each time I used them, I had the strongest contractions ever, after which my contractions become regular and increasingly strong (yay)! I rushed to the hospital and went from 4 cm dilated in the triage to 10 in little over an hour. It went so fast I barely squeezed in an epidural. Pushing took 2 minutes! If I had known that labor and pushing would be over so quickly i probably would have opted to go all natural/no epidural. Compare this to my first pregnancy where I had a 30 hour labor. Second labors tend to go faster in general, but mine went so fast, I'm positive, because of Emily! Thanks to this amazing healer and beautiful soul!!!! read more

Emily King Quon is indeed, as good as it gets. I had driven from Oakland to Los Angeles for the weekend and was something to the tune of 30 weeks pregnant. A pretty big lady. Now just before my husband I departed, I managed to do something we are always warned not to do, especially when pregnant- and that is to lift up something heavy from the floor, especially using the back instead of the legs and whole body. I felt a sharp zing through my back, put the box back down on my studio floor and hobbled up to bed. It hurt to get up, hurt to walk, and yet...here I was in the car (as passenger) driving six hours to Los Angeles. I absolutely had to take breaks to stand and stretch. Desperate, I looked to acupuncture for help, and found Emily. I explained what I had done and that the pain was making me miserable. However, that late in pregnancy, she advised is a very sensitive time for the body and if one isn't careful, it could possibly trigger an early labor. Needles were not a possibility, but she had a "clicker" that administered a very quick flick of pressure to the points- which she used on the back of my legs. Holy smokes- within seconds, the pain was lifted. I continued to walk to limber the back (versus sitting) as she recommended, and felt so so much better. Survived the drive home with no added complications. Nine weeks later, a terrific little baby. I highly recommend Emily's work for her astute sensitivity, her immense knowledge and empathy, and her very gentle touch.
