The options for children are phenomenal,trust me bring your children and teens They WILL beg to go again.(private area for nursing moms so you wont have to miss anything should your baby need to nurse).The Pastor is so very real relatable and I must say I find it so easy to receive the word of God from with the way he conducts his sermons. This is the first time in my 40+ yrs.if life that I have found a church that feels so welcoming and understating and so powerfully filled with the spirit of the Lord .I have been attending for about 1.5yrs. Its something you must experience, since the first time I walked in I could feel the love and power of the Lord. I don't miss a chance to go....without a doubt it has changed me for the better,forever , and I am encouraging everyone to come as you are, and join me there. If you're looking for a Christian Church you would be doing yourself an injustice by not trying Celebration Church Kenner ....

This…read moremodernist church on Jefferson Highway in Harahan (where it's that tallest structure according the Harahan city website), has a really active school and congregation. Architecture wise, it's a giant barn with really modern statues and decorations, except the stations of the cross and a portrait of St. Rita (as you exit) which are not keeping with the style of the church. The soaring ceiling is probably supposed to be making me have elevated thoughts. And I do like that it is a change from the many gothic churches in town. The church was dedicated in 1963 (but the parish was founded in 1950) so maybe it didn't originally have air conditioning? I imagine the HVAC bills are enormous. Yes these are the things that I think about sometimes while sitting in church; it's OK; God forgives me. I know Sunday mornings can get pretty packed since they often have a Harahan police officer out front directing traffic before and after mass. *A couple of additional thoughts* I wasn't too big on the church music here. It seems very Broadway to me and as a weak singer, I'd rather something I would actually feel more comfortable participating in. Although this may have been an effect of the acoustics/sound system. Also, in a #getoffmylawnnote, I really hate being introduced to everyone by their first name only. Give me a full name of the priest/layperson/whomever and I can choose to address them as Fr.Guido or Fr. Sarducci.

I went to mass today. I was welcomed as a outsider. I was able participate, in mass and receive…read moremy ashes. Due to covid the ashes , is delivered differently. All things have came to a change. I really enjoyed the mass and we be back again. This Parrish is a couple blocks from my aunts house, where she has lived for 87 years.
