Conference center, banquet facilities, etc. 24 hour casino. Atmosphere - Huge spacious location. Not many people here today. Bathrooms are also huge, clean, and modern. Near the Yarra River, so close to many attractions. Service - Strict security, which is a good thing. Security standing at all entrances and exits. And if you don't see what you want just ask the staff. The staff would make me 4 sunny side up fried eggs in the morning. Then, at night they would make us hot chocolate. I loved the almond croissant. At night there is enough alcohol for a football team to get drunk. They have tons of beer choices and even entire bottles of hard alcohol plus wine. I've never seen anything like it. The staff is great. They always greet you, and are willing to help with anything. The rooms were excellent, and most importantly, dark and quiet. After I mentioned to James, the hyatt staff team leader that my wife and daughter couldnt have eggs, he made sure every night they had a vegan dessert waiting for them. Checked on us every day and just wow, he went above and beyond. Karla the chef also checked on us because the vegan desserts are made different and wanted to make sure the flavor and consistency was spot on. And Reak was great with helping us get around the city and telling where to go. The room was spectacular with floor to ceiling windows. It did get hot if the windows were left open during the day so we had to remember that. But great view of the city and would definitely recommend staying here again. I had their Barramundi fish, which was the best on this trip. My wife had Riscotto. Of course, we had plenty of appetizers, liquors, and a chocolate and a Tiramisu dessert. All was very good. Crowne Promenade is a very good hotel. The only thing we found was that our room, for whatever reason, does NOT have a phone charging cable. We even talked to the manager, who confirmed, and said our own choices were to buy or rent one. That's no help. You'd think that a phone charging cable would be standard at a hotel like this. It's the same ole, same ole breakfast that hotels serve - Boring! Having said this, we did encounter a situation that was unique and it had never occurred to us before. My wife left her reading glasses in the room - on the day that we flew from Melbourne to New Zealand! We had our tour guide, 'C'. interface and try to have the glasses sent back to our home in the States, figuring that it would be chaotic to try and have it sent to one of our hotels in NZ. I'm only reporting what I was told by 'C'. I don't know what the delay was but 'C' said the hotel "would look into it." It took 24 hours before we got a response, which I thought "Why does it take that long to 'look into it'"? Anyway, there might be some mixup somewhere, as 'C' said it would cost me $29 (AUS) to have it shipped. I understand that part of it, and thought that this is very reasonable, considering it needs to be packaged so it doesn't break during transit. It would be another 8 days before we got home. After we got home, it took almost another week for the glasses to arrive - and what was strange: There's an Import tax of $25 (US) on it! HUH? It was NOT made in Australia, nor did I buy it there, so ... why is there an Import Tax?? I was told by 'C' - that's the way Australia is and even he is confused by some of the rules sometimes. In either case, we're glad that Crown Promenade got the glasses to us, very nicely packaged protectively in a plastic case that was enclosed in quite a bit of bubble=wrap. WHEW! Thank You!

Nonetheless, before I arrived I basically had to re-book the room to check in; I am supposed to receive a guaranteed room upgrade. One was not available so they gave me a $75 AUD food credit for the entire stay. Weak AF!!!!! A burger cost $36 AUD. I should have been given a $75 AUD food credit/day. The foregoing would have been more commensurate with the cost of a room upgrade; I tried to book a lounge access room via the site, but the radio button was unavailable. The site wanted you to pay cash & points. I did not want to pay $130 USD/night extra for lounge access; Before arrival I received an email that said I could upgrade to a lounge access room via points. When I inquired about this offer at the front desk, the woman said the points option is unavailable, and it would be $300 AUD/night for an upgrade: WTF?! The upgrade should be $200 AUD based on exchange rates; Shitty room w/ no view; Our room was not cleaned the 3 days we stayed. We had to call the last day to have our room cleaned. The day before we had to bring the trash and soiled towels to the cleaning lady in the hallway; Fuk U IHG!!!!! Your initials stand for I H-ate G-etting Cheated and Lied to, bc that is how I have been treated. This is my 5th stay at an IC or Kimpton high end hotel this year. All of my stays have been disappointing. I don't have the foregoing issues with "real" hotel chains like Hyatt, Marriott nor Hilton.

The made to order egg bar was delicious and the fresh waffles and pancakes, avocado bar, fresh juices and perfectly cut and displayed fruit were delectable. The Langham priorities health, and the breakfast showed just that. Of course, you can enjoy sweets, a chocolate tower, and ice cream at breakfast, too! Waters were regularly available and the house keepers were so detailed and attentive. The spa and spa decks were beautiful, too.
