Had a great time here with my family. The rides were amazing and make sure you check out the sharks and other shows:

I rented this place for a celebration of life for my mother. When I met with the staffer, I told…read moreher I didn't have all the details yet because I was working on securing a location. We filled out the paper work and she told me I had use of the place for the entire day, so my event time didn't really matter. I put down my event time was until 4. They sent me a letter refusing to return any of the $300 deposit I paid because I went over the time of 4pm. (And because they say I didn't sweep and mop, I did sweep). If my event ended at 4, how would I break down and clean and be out by 4. But that didn't matter because she told me I had all day. I feel like this is a scam to keep the deposit. Additionally when I paid for the use, she did not tell me that they charge a credit card fee for using my credit card. If I had known they were going to charge an extra $24, I would have paid in cash. I didn't know until after she already charged my card. The place itself was just ok, old looking, could use some updating and fresh coat of paint. Not worth the price, and I was told it included the use of tv displays but no one could show me how to use it the day of my event, so it really wasn't included.

When it come to preparing food, their kitchen really makes it easy when we serve our own food and caterers find it useful as well. I was really impressed with how many people we could seat and still have room for people to dance. Our DJ liked the area on the stage for him to set up. You can't go wrong with the price and the great service makes this a hell of a bargain.

The venue itself is genuinely nice. The recent renovations to the building were done well and the…read morewhole space looked polished. Food was served buffet style and was quite good. The bartenders and servers were the highlight of the staff: friendly, attentive, and pleasant to deal with all night. Several things kept it from being a good experience. The timeline ran behind all evening. Champagne for the toast was poured 45 minutes before the toast actually happened, so guests were left with flat, warm champagne by the time it mattered. The ceremony was held outside on the lawn, and there is no path down to the seating area. Guests have to walk across grass to get there and it was difficult for elderly and disabled guests, I had to help one person back up to the sidewalk by pushing her along with her walker. The venue claims this is all ADA compliant, but I am 100% certain the slope exceeds ADA requirements, I am also fairly confident that an actual sidewalk is required. I also noticed electrical wiring run down to the ceremony area through PVC pipe. Seeing that this place is located in a FEMA designated regulatory floodway, I would be nervous about that pipe after a few years once its deteriorated, seems like an electrocution hazard. (You can verify this yourself by looking up FEMA floodmaps.) The main event coordinator was rude throughout the event, visibly scowling at guests, and I overheard her yelling at one of them. That kind of behavior stands out badly at a wedding, especially against a service staff that was otherwise excellent.

My Wife and I had our anniversary this past Saturday at Casa Del Rio…read more Venue itself is great. However, one of the coordinators McKenzie told us there were some guest for a different event that accidentally came the day of our anniversary and dropped off cards in our card box. We didn't bring the key for the box and didn't have anything else on us to try and retrieve the cards for the other party. My wife and I offered to bring the cards back the next day once we accessed the box. About 20-30 mins later, while my wife and I were taking pictures with our guests, McKenzie came up to us and said they resolved the issue. We didn't think anything of it at the time because we're in the middle of our event but no one thinks your card box is going to be accessed without permission and out of a camera view. The next day, when going through our card box, we noticed we only had 9 cards in the box and we had a guest count of 107. Some guest gave money through the online portal but that was a strangely low amount, considering all the guest were family and close friends we've know for years. When my wife reached out about the situation, they didn't seem too apologetic or offer any solutions. My wife had to go down and collect our knife cutting kit anyway, so she figured maybe she could provide better context in person. When my wife arrived at the venue, McKenzie didn't wait for her to go into the office, she met her in the parking lot and again was not helpful or apologetic about us telling her we were missing cards. At this point we had already confirmed with guest who we saw arrive at our event with cards that were not in the box when we accessed it the next day. We didn't want to point fingers at the staff but McKenzie suggested it could've been one of our guests who stole our cards, if we said some were missing. Even "IF" that was the case, you would think the venue would offer assistance in trying to confirm who may have accessed our box. McKenzie admitted to my wife and sister in law that she used a tweezer to retrieve cards from our box for the other party. But she did not ask for our permission to do that nor did she have us present when that happened. McKenzie also said that "there weren't a lot of cards in the box" when she retrieved the cards for the other party. I don't know how she would know that without accessing the box but that doesn't matter if she accessed contents from our box without permission, us being present or doing it under a camera. There is no camera in the main entrance where the card box was. When my wife said she was going to file a police report and wanted to see if McKenzie would offer to help with the report, she asked my wife to get off the Casa Del Rio property. McKenzie said she would reach out to management and follow up with us before the end of day, and we never received a call. My wife emailed the general manager of Wedgewood and tried calling but we still have not heard anything back. It's one thing to say that we're responsible for our stuff and the venue isn't liable but it's another thing when one of you coordinators tells you she accessed your box (however it was done, doesn't matter) without your permission or allowing you to be present. This is a new venue but not a new company, so it's very hard what to make of all of this. I just wished this could've been handled differently and with a touch of empathy. Anyway, I've included a photo of my box not being "full" before it was accessed. That's a deep box and a card is sticking out. Make of it what you will. Hope if you book an event here, just keep an eye on your stuff.
