I found this place to be a rather pleasing place that did a pretty decent schnitzel as well. I had been here quite a while ago, namely when I came down for a job interview, but, yeah, as it turns out, this place was pretty cool.

You also get a free welcome drink and free internet! The breakfast is served in a large 1st floor cafe overlooking the river which is a great way to start the day. Room service is available too. The rooms are large and comfortable with plenty of light. The bathrooms are also large and clean. The hotel is also community owned so staying here supports the locals too! Only criticism I had is when people smoking out front of rooms smoke smell makes its way into the room. That aside I will stay again.

The motel actually isn't bad, though it seems to be going through some renovations at the moment, so check in is actually at the pub on the other side of the golf course, which isn't much of a walk from the rooms anyway. It is a rather quiet place, and the staff are pretty helpful. On the other hand, it isn't close to the main town centre, which was a bit of a shame, but as a place to stay it isn't bad, particularly since it is quite central to the Riverland.

AMAZING STAY! We…read morecelebrated our first year anniversary here - we booked the Stone Villa We wanted something that was off the beaten track, quiet and secluded. We didn't see anyone until late on our second afternoon when I think one of the owners was walking her dog and it came up to us! All the finishings in the Eco Villa were amazing, starting from the heated bathroom floor that automatically turned on twice a day, to the CBUS lighting and not forgetting the skylight that allowed us to lay in bed and look at the stars. We were worried that we would be woken up by bright sunlight in the morning, but after the first morning we weren't too concerned as it wasnt bothersome. Bonus was that it was a retractable cover on it so we could open and close it whenever we wanted to. The bed was HUGE and a little soft for our liking but comfortable! Special little touches like heart chocolates beside the bed, a choice of complimentary Riverland wine (red or white or sparkling) was waiting for us, plus a cheese and fruit/nut platter. Breakfast provisions were generous, including two types of cereal, milk, a whole loaf of bread, condiments, yoghurt etc. Coffee was provided in pod format, also local ground coffee and instant was there if we needed it. The kitchen amenities were well supplied, even olive oil and basic spices were there for us if we wanted to use it. There was even a bottle of tawny port with two shot glasses if we so wanted to partake (I did!) We used the BBQ both nights using local produce, it was simply bliss sitting on the balcony sipping wine, eating Barossa cheese and drinking Riverland wine. The spa is amazing, BIG and warm. Im sure we spent a few hours in there at night during the course of our weekend. The bathroom was exceptional, we were a little hesitant upon seeing the tall window next to the shower but literally not a soul was around us so we lost our inhibitions. The shower was wonderful for couples with two rain shower heads, add in the heated flooring and it was exceptional! The location is great, a short distance over the ferry at Lyrup to get to Renmark I cant wait to come back and try the other Villas they have! A+++++

Actually, what I really did like about this pub was that they had some great beer selections on tap, something that you tend not to encounter out in the country, even tourist spots such as Renmark. Once you get there is basically looks like one of those old colonial mudbrick buildings, which gives it and awful lot of charm. While the building itself isn't all that large, the beer garden is huge, and in many cases that is where you sit. However, it is still open, and people still drink here, so I guess that the trek was worth it (and it was also a bit of an adventure as well, particularly travelling along the dirt road without access to the internet to get to our next place). It wasn't too bad, considering that it does happen to be a country pub. They have a pretty decent sized beer garden, and an outdoor bar, though I'm not sure if it is used all that much. Of course, I came here because, well, I've never been to Loxton, and visiting the pub is certainly a pretty good excuse there. Yeah, this pub certainly did have a lot of charm about it, and the sports bar wasn't too bad either. I found that the service was pretty good, and they even have a decent sized beer garden. Yeah, this place was not bad at all.
