I'm not making a review about kingsway mall in general. i'm making a review about a store called designer depot because during my christmas shopping i noticed a few red flags as well as green flags. 1. i overheard certain staff members talking very rudely about other staff members. 2. i was not aware of multiple policies due to no one explaining it to me so when i went back to exchange an item i was not able to do so considering non of the employees were telling customers about them. 3. the cashier with dark hair and glasses was EXTREMELY sweet and very professional considering how young she looked. 4. i was greeted by a very sweet young man who was making sure the store was safe from homeless people due to an incident. Yes there were a few red flags but majority of my visit to this location was okay. one other thing it is very difficult to identify who is an employee due to the employees not having name tags. Kingsway mall is a nice mall, I've been here a few times now since we now live closer. I do think i like the WEM alittle more but I thought it was quite modern and clean. The staff is on top of cleaning up things and keeping the floors clean from all the mud that comes on the shoes from off the street. My only complaint is that I feel there could be a better selection of stores and options. Some of the stores though offer good pricing and good discounts. I will continue to shop here and hope that they get a better selection in the future. read more

Christmas shopping on Cyber Monday was a great idea. The mall isn't very busy yet and the sales are still on. They've decorated the mall for Christmas and it's beautiful. I really love Kingsway since the renovations. The mall has so many great stores and it's clean and people are friendly. Typically there's a ton of parking. There's some construction going on near the main entrance but not enough to be a pain. This mall pretty much has it all. read more

Not a bad mall. I've really loved it since the "new" renos which aren't really that new anymore. I lived on the Southside forever so I never really gave it much of a chance since I had no reason to go! Now that I live downtown I go a couple times a month. Waaaaay better than WEM or City Centre in my humble opinion. They basically have any of the shops you need, free wifi, a great food court, and LOTS of parking. I never find it too busy - so it is a great place to go Christmas/Holiday shopping. They usually have pretty cool promos going on as well. read more

This mall is evolving into a place I would shop at! I'm not sure how much that means because I don't really "shop". I've been here a lot lately since I'm taking classes at NAIT. It's so close but the north entrance closest to my school is closed for renovation of that wing of the mall. It used to be Sears and I'm not sure what is going to replace it. Their food court has decent options like Jimmy the Greek and I will occasionally come here for a bite. More likely is after classes are done and I'm meeting people. Their wifi works decently well all around the mall so it's not a bad place to hangout. There is never a shortage of parking and the selection of stores has gotten better over the past 7 years. They completed a facelift which gives a more modern feel. One interesting store is labelled 'Community' with a hashtag #communitykingsway and it's a space that can be rented out for events held in the mall. read more

Kingsway Mall - Shopping Centers Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

Kingsway is a pretty great mall. Sure from the outside it looks exactly as it did back in the 1980s, but inside Kingsway has been renovated and updated. There are two major anchor stores (Sears and The Bay), but there are also a variety of other stores from clothing, to kids (including the only Disney Store in Edmonton), to housewares, and more. The food court has some fantastic big windows that makes everything seem more open and bright. Plus now there is LRT service to Kingsway (the station is located across the street). I'm usually more on the southside, but if I'm in the area then Kingsway Garden Mall is definitely worth checking out. read more

Although I usually frequent WEM, I like going to Kingsway if in the area. Many stores in Kingsway are the same, but the stock doesn't move as quick so there is actually more selection at the stores. I noticed this at HMV for the rock band mugs, the Disney store for the sale items that were an extra 25% off, and Carlton for $1.99 stuffed animals. At Disney store, I was able to get t-shirts for $5.24, which I have never found in their other store. The layout of Kingsway makes it easy to navigate and find the store you are looking for. It's good to cut through Target as well if you don't want to walk around towards the food court. This is a good mall and not far from downtown, and with the LRT stopping by soon, it will be a convenient to get to. read more

Kingsway Garden Mall is my favourite mall in the whole city. Their store selection is awesome, and the best part is that this mall isn't huge like West Edmonton Mall, so you can actually walk around this place without getting totally exhausted. Shopping at the mall is a great excuse to have some fast food, and I think Kingsway has one of the best food courts. There's Shumka, Extreme Pita, Sbarro, Taco Time (What would a food court be without one?), Dairy, Edo, New York Fries, and more. A Second Cup is also by the food court if you need your daily dose of caffeine or just want a high-quality beverage. There are quite a few good clothing stores here like The Gap, Club Monaco, Eddie Bauer, lululemon, Le Chateau, and American Eagle. Some of my other favourite stores here are Payless Shoes, HMV, Rafters, Coles, and Shoppers Drug Mart. Sears and Zellers come in handy too, especially during Christmas time! Also, a MAC Cosmetics store just opened here; how awesome is that? Kingsway isn't as bright and modern-looking as most other malls in the city, but they are undergoing major renovations right now, so I bet it's going to look really nice! read more

I went and saw the reonvated Kingsway mall for the first time yesterday and I really liked it. I was impressed with how modern the new place, especially the food court. When I first walked in I loved the light that shone into the building from the full wall of windows. Their new slogan is actually "Let Your Light Shine" and I thought this was really effective with the tall wall of windows. There are new stores in this mall too: H&M, Aerie by American Eagle etc. It took me about 2 hours to go through all the women's clothing store through this mall, and I took my time. After seeing the renovations, I think I will shop at this mall more often. read more

I never leave Kingsway happy. It's likely the closest mall to where I live, but I avoid it for the most part. The parking sucks. I mean it shouldn't, it's a large enough parking lot, but seriously no one who parks there has any business driving much less parking. Prior to today, the last time I went to the mall I nearly got run over because someone saw me crossing - in a marked crosswalk - toward the door and floored it barely missing me. Now, they're in the process of tearing up the parking lot which not only is confusing the already stupid drivers but makes it difficult for everyone to maneuver. The entire mall has been undergoing severe renovations for the better part of a year now which is just annoying as hell. They've opened up the roof and put in some skylights and it seems they're changing to lighter floor tiles. Yippie. The stores seem to have moved or are moving. The food court recently reopened - turns out there are now half as many fast food outlets to select from now. This mall used to be the second largest mall in the city. I think Edmonton City Centre has trumped it now since it's all one big mall now. There's nothing unique about this mall. Shopping here is never a pleasant experience. read more

Having lived downtown for 20 + years - I can say that Kingsway Mall has been one of my favorite spots. Though I do miss Zellers and Sears. Since the renovations, the mall looks amazing. I was just there for Christmas shopping today and zipped through no problem. The only downfall? Con: New clean floors can be really slippery. You need to wear really good shoes for walking the halls. Those tiles can be treacherous and that's why I am leaving a review today. Even in my boots, there were a couple of slippery spots. read more

I love the look of Kingsway. Some people think it's outdates but I think all the brick is classic and that's what makes the mall. I actually like Kingsway. It's not my favorite mall but it's a pretty good one. I always manage to find stuff when I happen to stop at Kingsway because I'm in the neighborhood, but I would never make a specific trip there. I don't know why though. It's just not high on my list of destination locations I guess. They have a lot of great stores though. They have Gap, Le Chateau, HMV, Payless Shoes, American Eagle, MAC, Lululemon, Jacob, Danier, Club Monaco, Coles Bookstore and many more. I didn't mean for that last line to rhyme. If you live in the area, I would definitely recommend Kingsway Garden Mall to be your mall of choice. If you're a bit further away, like me, you might want to go elsewhere (West Edmonton Mall, Southgate, South Edmonton Common). read more

Pretty easy to get to, and always lots of parking available. You never have to circle the lot to find a spot. This mall never gets over crowded like some of its counterparts around the city. And it has pretty much everything I need. The stores I typically come here for are Torrid (This was the first location in Edmonton! Maybe even the first in Western Canada?), Ricki's, Sephora, The Bay, and Sears. But I usually end up in many more than that. They've been doing some renovations lately and it is really looking great. Very sleek and modern. And it looks like they are adding a HUGE Homesense to the old Target space, which will be a great addition to the mall. It would be nice if there was some grocery options, but what can you do. The food court is great. Lots of options. I miss the philly beef, but there's plenty to choose from still. My only real complaint is that they took away the Smittys and replaced it with a new retailer instead of another sit down restaurant. I know that there's moxies and BPs in the parking lot. But I really appreciated the option of being able to sit down for a quick meal while shopping. read more

Good selection of stores located in this centrally located mall. There are always tons of stores opening with sales posted throughout the year. This mall is anchor to The Bay, Homesense and has the Disney store. It is conveniently accessible to the lrt and looks to be newly renovated and clean. U have always been able to find what I need at this mall. I do wish however, they had higher end stores and carried more clothing selection for men. read more

This is my neighbourhood mall. Great selection of stores, and they are always keeping things new and fresh. There is lots of free parking located all around the mall. The food court also has a lot of awesome choices. The mall in general is great about providing events and supports local charities. My only complaint is that there is no grocery store. I like Kingsway, and not just because I work here ;-) After the renos were done and some new stores started coming in, I was jazzed. Victoria's Secret, H&M, Sephora (although I still like the Sephora at WEM better if I actually want customer service). The place still needs a few things in my opinion to really get that "grown up" mall feel that Southgate has managed to get, but it's getting there. Newer retailers and continued improvements have kept this mall at the top of my list. And again, that's not just because I work here. Well, the store I work in is here. This mall could use a Lush and could bring back the Saje Natural wellness. The only other one in the city is at Southgate, and I love their products. read more

I love Kingsway Mall! Two floors of shopping bliss and my favourite mall food court in Edmonton. The mall is bright, clean and full of great stores. I went looking for children's clothing and there are 5 kid's clothing stores, plus other stores like The Bay, Disney Store and more. They also have the brand new Forever 21, with two floors of fun fashions, including the plus size section on the top floor. The mall is always hosting community events like kids clubs, group workouts, fashion shows and more. And that food court - so many seats, so many food choices, so much light and so much happiness! I truly don't think that you could get sick of the choices, whether you're going healthy or feeling like a treat, whether you're feeling New York Fries, Shumka or anything else. And the Hubba Hubby always requests some cinnamon buns on every visit! read more

This mall has improved significantly over the years which is so nice to see as it is conveniently located in central Edmonton and has a good variety of stores that will meet your needs vs. having to drive all the way out to West Edmonton Mall or Southgate for that matter. I notice they try and keep it pretty clean which I appreciate. I also notice there is lots of security walking around, which in same ways is nice to see, but in others, makes one question why so much? I believe it's because of the younger school crowds from nearby schools that tend to frequent & hang out at this mall from time to time. Parking is plentiful, although be forewarned that it can be busy, especially during weekends, and because of this, accidents are prone to happen (I personally saw two accidents in the span of 5 min sitting in my car in the parking lot near the food court one afternoon)... Yikes! The mall itself is much less busier than West Edmonton Mall - so your shopping experience is more pleasant as you don't have to worry pushy crowds. The major department stores here are Hudson's Bay and Sears. The smaller stores change from time to time. The food court is pretty big and has a decent selection - I wouldn't be able to comment on the food though as I have never eaten here since the major renovations occured. All in all, a solid mall to visit, try and come during the weekday of course, especially if you like to avoid crowds during the weekends =) read more

It had been years and years since I'd last visited Kingsway Garden Mall. I mean....I was probably a little kid last time I went. I was on the north side the other night and needed to pick up some things for a party, so I was hoping Kingsway might have a Zellers and a dollar store. Yes, Kingsway has a dollar store and a Zellers. So I was able to pick up my Christmas decorations and silly hats and the like. But what I didn't expect was that Kingsway also has a ton of shopping that appeals to me. Some of the stores here include: Jacob, H&M, Gap, Aerie, and most importantly, Victoria's Secret! The best part is, this mall is way calmer than WEM will ever be, so I was able to shop in VS and have it be a pleasant experience! Who would have thought? This mall is a little out of the way for me, but I think I'll definitely make the effort to get out there. It has some of my favourite stores in a less busy environment - perfect! read more

It's too bad that this mall is so far away from where I live so I don't get out here too often anymore. When I was a student at NAIT though - I spent a minute or two here on occasion. Really great mall!! Everything here you could want or need and the food court is pretty awesome! One complaint - there is one section on the main level of this mall that ALWAYS smells like urine (Come on people help me out here - has anyone else noticed this or am I just really losing it?!?!?) Regardless, although it can get busy here sometimes, it's nothing compared to WEM congestion, but it has pretty much all the same stores minus the tourist attractions. Great place to come to get all your holiday shopping done in one shot if you are anything like me! read more

I've been shopping at Kingsway since I was a kid and it hadn't changed a lot since they did an addition in the 80's. I was really happy to see the renovation done recently as it was much needed, as was the addition of several stores that offered higher quality apparel. The new atmosphere is much more upscale, clean and bright. The new washrooms on the second floor by the elevator are very clean and they have automatic faucets, soap and dryers. The new food court is also a lot better-more spacious, better variety, more seating. There's a Victoria Secret opening on the second floor, which will be fabulous-I won't have the excuse not to go because the only location is WEM. Kingsway is an all around good mall with lots of selection, and it's centrally located, so very convenient. read more

Pre renovations I was not a regular Kingsway shopper but after two trips of checking out all the new stores and the impressive food court since the last time I was there years prior I have to say I am definitely impressed! They appear to have brought in higher end stores like Victoria Secret while still keeping a good selection of moderately priced stores like Aeropostale. You can easily satisfy your hunger at Kingsway as well whether your a burger traditionalist or need a healthier option. There is also a BP a short walk out the mall doors by the Sobey's liquor store if you prefer a sit down option. It's a pretty easy mall to find your way around even though it is so large. If you are having troubles though they have phones attached to their mall map podiums that go straight to customer service which I thought was a handy touch. From clothing to comics Kingsway really has it all and is the place to be in Edmonton if you want to avoid the crowds at WEM or don't have the money to spend in the ultra fashionable but high end Southgate mall. read more

If you want to a mall shopping experience but would rather avoid the hustle and bustle of West Edmonton Mall, Kingsway is definitely an ideal option. Located in the central part of the city, there are two levels of stores that sell everything from cell phones to music to fashion accessories. The Bay, Sears, and Zellers are the major department stores here. I used to love coming here for the food court, which is quite extensive. Kingsway lacks the glitz of other malls, but I am interested to see how the place looks after the renovations are done. read more

A good quality mall. It has a good balance of stores that fulfill different needs from toys to clothing to shoes to housewares and more. Once the new LRT line opens, transit to this mall will be easier than ever. It has a good food court, good anchor stores (The Bay and Sears now that Target is closed) and is the one of only two malls in Edmonton to have a Disney Store among more unique offerings. The food court is pretty good as well. I miss the Zellers/Target location as that was the door I was most likely to use to enter the mall, but I'm sure that empty store location will eventually be filled once more with another retailer. I don't particularly care for malls; I have better things to do than wander around a place where I'm constantly pressured to purchase things and I don't enjoy shopping with the kids (because they're pressured to pressure ME to buy stuff). But lately I've been less and less impressed with Southgate and more impressed with Kingsway. On our latest consumerist campaign (shipping for a trip to Hawaii), we got a good sense of the mall's strengths. The parking was great. The clothing selection at a number of stores was good and affordable (especially H&M). The food choices for a light supper were good (fatty and salty, but that's food courts). It had a Disney Store (which the girls love). And we all left relatively happy with the trip. Besides the decent clothing and food places, there are also shops to get video games, toys, movies, housewares, and toiletries as well as cell phones and body care. This mall is Pretty Good, and if they can get something nice into the rotten husk that used to be Target, we have a contender for strongest overall mall in the city. read more

Kingsway Mall is average for me. I used to shop here a lot, because I lived in the neighbourhood. Now that I've moved, it's just the mall I go to for necessities, if I know I can get something for cheaper here. The stores here tend to be generic ones, stores you'll find at any other mall in town. They do, however, have the biggest and best Disney Store location in the city. They've been tearing up the mall and doing some major reno's over the past year, and it doesn't look like they'll be done anytime soon. But I'm sure the results will be well worth the temporary inconvenience. At least, let's hope so. Otherwise, I'm afraid this mall might fall through the hole. The food court has always been pretty good, for a mall this size I think. They have a wide selection of different foods, it's not just Chinese, Ukrainian, and Chinese. I love that they have Cinn-Zeo here too, I'm just a sucker for the smell of those cinnamon buns. So here's to hoping that the new changes will be good for Kingsway. Maybe then it will be more than just an okay place to kill a free afternoon. read more

Sometimes I just head on over to Kingsway if I need a little shopping fix, instead of battling the crowds at West Ed. They've got lululemon, Jacob, Danier, Gap, Club Monaco, American Eagle, and a variety of other shops that work for me, and it's never so busy you have to brush past people in the halls. I sometimes just go for the food -they've got New York Fries, Orange Julius, Poppin' pop corn, Booster Juice, Extreme Pita, Bad Ass Jack's and other choices. The food court has a ton of seating. It's never completely full. There's a Zellers and a dollar store and a Sears. I just wish they had a Bay and a movie theatre to round it out a bit. Otherwise, Kingsway is as good a mall as I need. read more

Don't have anything really substantial to say here. The few times I've been here, I leave wondering why I was there, but nevertheless, go back. It's awkward to get into and out of, especially with the new LRT construction... but as we live on the south side, I would tend towards WEM or Southgate (or the Commons) anyhow. read more

Kingsway Mall is an alright place. If it wasn't for the recent renovations I would say it was terrible. The place looks a bit livelier now. They are also updating their stores. Soon they will have many stores that you would find in West Ed. The mall doesn't really do it for me though. I don't ever think of going to Kingsway when I need to buy some stuff, not even if I am in the area. Something about the place just feels dead to me. It is getting better but I don't think I will ever love it. read more

Kingsway mall is like the little mall that CAN. It has really started to make strides as a contender for top mall in Edmonton. Recent renovations have really helped up its game. It offers a good variety of shops and a few services such as eye exams and sewing shops to help keep you coming to the mall. I really enjoy the food court. It has a decent amount of variety fast food wise and fairly ample seating. I am really excited about their new mother's room on the upper level. There is a nice place to get away from the hustle and bustle with your little one. They also have a good supply of baby items if you forget your diapers or wipes. It is always very hot in there. I think for the fresh babies maybe? Parking has really opened up since the Target went under, but that left a big gaping whole in the mall that hopefully is soon filled. Another nice thing the mall has is kids play times on the last Wednesday of the month as well as there is a fitness class they hold in the mall as well. Overall good mall. read more

Kingsway is my go-to mall when looking for something specific, while West Edmonton Mall is my mall when I have lots of time to browse and wander. The mall has all the major stores, including Sears, the Bay and Zellers. Their food court is only half open right now due to a rain storm which caused roof damage and half the places had to close down temporary to repair the damage. But they still have the major food outlets open such as Arby's, A&W, Subway, New York Fries, KFC, Taco Time, chinese food and for dessert- Baskin Robbins, Cinnzeo and Yogen Fruz. They have the restaurant Smitty's inside the mall and outside the mall, by the Bay/bus stops is Moxies. A hidden restaurant is the low-key restaurant located inside Sears (on the 2nd floor). The restaurant serves "comfort food" meals and has daily specials such as roast beef, mash potatoes, turkey and some burgers, salads and soups. The prices are decent for what you get (ex. under $10 for a plate of roast beef, mash potatoes and veggies). I would recommend going on Saturdays for their lunch. It is sometimes hard to judge when it is open and how well the selection will be since the restaurant tends to be there for more staff but is open to the public as well. My favourite clothing stores in the mall include GAP, Lululemon, Jacob, Dynamite, Sirens, Aldo, Spring (formerly known as Transit), Le Chateau and Stitches. The mall is currently undergoing major renos so there is lots of construction but overall great mall nevertheless. read more

This mall has gotten a lot better than I remember. I haven't been here in about four years, but I went shopping at Kingsway the other day it has definitely improved. The place looks more sophisticated, and the new decor and stores prove it. Kingsway looked ghastly a few years ago and was a downright eyesore. Now, they've fit the place with some swank (extremely comfortable) furniture for the public, and a new paint job. There are lots of great stores here, but most importantly, I think it might be the only place in Edmonton that has a Disney store, but I'm not sure though. I go nuts for anything made by Disney! I'd say it's on par with Southgate for the "Second-best Mall in Edmonton" title. Southgate might just best it since the women that shop there are fine as hell. read more

I think Kingsway has to be my favorite mall, West Ed is really tiring to walk around. Kingsway has all your mall staples plus a few extra..RW & Co, Costa Blanca, and Aritzia just opened and H & M is on the way.
