In addition to an impressive garden growing grapes, herbs and veggies, the monastery is also home to a artisan alley featuring a variety of shops and demonstrations. In the alley, you'll find a blacksmith, ceramic shop, glass artist, leather crafter and more. I especially enjoyed what the leather artist had to offer and fought the urge to make a few purchases. The monastery also has a small cafe that I believe makes their own treats and bread. There are several benches available in the garden that are ideal for reading and soaking in the peace and quiet. The monastery is located on the edge of Old Town adjacent to the historic Eggenberg Brewery which is also worth a visit.

I found the 45min tour fascinating, but if you don't like live theater you can skip this. -Castle Museum and Tower 280CZK/$12.75...no tour required! The views from the top of the tower are spectacular! The museum was interesting too, I especially like the small movie theater. PRO TIP: If you don't want so spend 1 Euro or 20 CZK to use the toilets, go buy yourself a $2-3 coffee or drink at the cafe near the beginning, and grab one of their toilet tokens.

The tour was lackluster, but would you pay to see the last cuckoo bird? Definitely unique with the signature outlandish decorative motifs. For the time it was ingenuity for the stage with multi-sliding panels for scene changes and drop floorboards. They have a short season of (six?) performances.

If you're here for 2 nights like I was, this small Wax Museum provides a nice 30-60 minutes of entertainment value. Its also a good choice if its raining. There are some interesting reenactments of the old days of Cesky Krumlov and the Czech Republic, some political and historical figures whom I didn't know half of, and few obvious looking celebrities. Don't let the outside building deceive you, its much bigger inside than it looks. The museum was run by single bored looking young lady, but she was nice enough and I can't blame her for being so bored. 150CZK/$6.75 adult, or 100CZK/$4.50 for kids and students...seems about right.
