Whoever the manager is tonight is a giant man child. I ordered a wrap with no tomatoes and add onion, it took 25min to come out. And came with tomatoes, sent it back, then they didn't put onions, was frustrated at that point so I sent it back. He came out to ask how he can fix it, I said I didn't want another, I didn't wanna wait for it again. He gets an attitude and says this ain't McDonald's do you know how a kitchen works? We went there for their Diamond Pool tables, and boy they did not disappoint. Our drinks were well balanced and tasted great. Throughout the week they offer many specials for drinks and food, too many to list in the review. Drink prices were appropriate, and the bartending and staff were exceptional! We did not have any food this time, but everything that we saw others order, made my husband and I both say that we want to come back for a bite to eat next time. They have at least 12 Diamond pool tables, spaced out nicely for playing. There was a tournament being played when we arrived, and a nice gentleman told us (without even needing to ask) that table 8 was open. The tables are $1.50 a game, which is a decent price for Diamond tables, however they offer free pool Monday through Saturday from 3-6. We will definitely be coming back earlier in the day to play on the tables for free next time. The bar also had a DJ playing when we were there on a Saturday, and they offer many other activities throughout the week from karaoke to trivia nights. While we were in the area last night we decided to visit Kip's for food and drinks. The bar was packed with patrons for trivia night along with a pool/dart competition. You can find bar seating or some table seating spread all around the pub. We found a table close to the bar. The waitress brought us menus fairly quick. I ordered an angry orchard to drink and split a shareable BBQ wings appetizer with my husband. The portions of the food are massive and it tasted great too. The layout of the pub was a bit confusing and haphazard. They also had a lot of storage items sort of laying around close to tables which made it hard to sit. I went to this pub last night and I ordered the Cajun chicken quesadillas, I was on my last quesadilla and I noticed two strands of hair on the plate. i didn't realize until the food was nearly consumed completely. the two strands of hair was UNDER the food which is why I couldn't see it before eating the food. I talked to the GM and his response was "that's wild". no compassion or urgency to try to appease my mind. he actually tried to blame me instead. I didn't ask for my money back or the food to remade, just wanted to bring to his attention that someone in the kitchen is not being precautious while preparing food. instead of making excuses or trying to blame the customer, at least act like you care. his customer service was horrible and I don't appreciate being blamed for hair being in my food. My first time at this bar and I'll for sure never go back. Me and a couple buddies were going to meet up with my buddy to play some pool. We grabbed a couple beers and hadn't even been there for 5 minutes, we're getting ready to head over to the tables, as we are on the way to the table the bartender stops us and says "you guys have to leave" so we ask why? She says "idk the manager (or owner) said y'all have to go". So we asked if we could get an explanation she said "no y'all just have to leave". So we left without and issues. My friend who goes there often asked for an explanation and they said we had been there before and caused problems even though it was our first time there. Tuesday is my favorite night at kips for 2 reasons. KJ Gina is nothing short of spectacular and hosts a 4 hours show that starts at 9 pm. Second reason is one of the Managers there named Memphis who goes above and beyond to make sure you have an incredible experience. We hosted a birthday party and needed batteries for the main present and he saved the day and found us a screw driver and AA batteries ! Who doesn't love getting accused of stuff you've never done by drunk bartenders who are there off the clock? Oh, yeah, nobody. Most reputable bars don't allow employees to drink on the premises because they know what happens when they do. Not Kip's! Small step above a dive bar, mostly because of the pool tables. I have been coming here for years off and on with no problems. Until I made the mistake of not knowing they have multiple glasses of the same size. I thought maybe she misheard and made an honest mistake, that's ok. Nope, she immediately got cocky with me over it, and when I asked for my check(which I already intended to do anyway) she got even worse. Going as far as pouring water between multiple glasses to show me, talking down to me the entire time. I didn't insult you. I didn't swear at you. You got a bad attitude for no reason. And when I tried to talk to you afterward you got worse about it. Stop making yourself a victim, you don't belong in customer server. Ale Emporium is better than Kip's in every imaginable way, and I will walk the extra mile to go there from now on. read more

I've lived right down the road from this bar for almost a year and just discovered it. I'm so glad I did! It's a really fun divey bar. There is inside and outside seating. I will say the outside seating is limited to two tables with 4 seats per table, but if it's not too crowded you can snag a spot. Inside there's lots of seating and pool tables. The pool table section was really cool! There were so many. I don't like when you're out at a bar and can't get time playing, but here that's not a problem at all! There was a live band and the service was really great. The waitress was super attentive. She did a great job keeping the drinks coming. She checked on us regularly. The prices were pretty cheap. We go every Monday to support music bingo.... Even though the primary waitress really needs to get out of the service industry. Food is good but you always have to flag her down, even when it is slow. She will check on you when it's time to pay and that is usually it. She will take drink orders no problem but then have to flag her down and ask for a menu. You may get it quick as in the 5 minutes... or it may be a while. I always order food... she got food for everyone at the table tonight but completely ignored me all night. If you go I highly recommend you sit at the bar to avoid her and recommend the owner moves on from her. read more

This is a pretty fun dive bar, and if you like to play pool it's definitely a spot worth trying. They have quite a few pool tables, at least 10, in the bar as well as a stage for live music. The bar is a nice size and the bathrooms were actually really clean. The appetizers were pretty good and decently priced, I didn't feel like I was over paying at all. Their drinks seem to be priced fairly as well, I bought quite a few and was able to leave having paid less than 50 dollars which was nice. They require a card to place an order and keep it the server took her card and when we were ready to check out she brought us a bunch of cards and said which is yours! None of those were hers! Waited and waited for a server but no one came so I walked up to the bar and ordered an iced tea and 2 waters for my teammates. He says to me... this establishment is for paying customers only. WTF? We have friends in a band that was playing there this past weekend, and decided to scope it out. I gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised! It was nice and clean, the servers were friendly. Music was playing, people were dancing, and the atmosphere was just fun! We ordered some chicken wings, and they were very good! I recently visited to play in a pool tournament and was floored by how poorly the pool tables are maintained. The cue balls used are the outdated, heavy bar table balls and several players had brought their own cue balls just to play!!! Any pool room or bar that hosts ANY competition should have decent equipment to play on! The felt in at least two of the tables I played on was so loose you could pick it up with your fingers! The food was ok and prices seemed reasonable. If you're looking for a place to just hang out and have a few beers this is ok but if you're a pool player I suggest going to Brick Yard or John Wayne's Pub. The servers were friendly and helpful when I visited and it's an easy spot to find with plenty of parking. The place seemed clean enough and there's no smoking inside. The pool tables are way to close together also so you'll be bumping into others or waiting for people to get out of your way a lot. Overall it's a decent place just not very player friendly if you're into playing pool. read more

Ok so here's the deal. If you like billiards, you should make this a destination for you. But it's not like one of those hole in the wall bars that had some open spaces so they put a pool table in. It's not even like one of those "pool halls" with 6 raggedy pool tables and super sticky floors. This place is legit for pool players. They hold tournaments here and the tables are taken care of. What more could you ask for of a true pool hall.....oh wait, good food, the food is decent, nothing to write home about but it is a bar so they don't do bad. It's hard to find a true pool hall around Indianapolis, but this place has it! The main hall is generally reserved for leagues, but the room to the the right is first come first serve pool, foosball, and darts. They have great drink specials every day of the week. My group went here just to play some darts and drink some beer for Sunday Funday! This place is a little grungy, a little divey, as most pool halls are. We got a couple of pitchers of beer for $6.25 a piece. The staff was alright, we didn't really need much. For now, this my 'go to' place for pool and darts. Check it out! read more

I just stopped in on Saturday night to see if Kip's had maybe changed up it's mode of operation at all. Not much has changed over since my last try about two or three years ago, except maybe the place a little worse for the wear and the real good-looking bartender, who's been there since I don't remember, went from brunette to blond. The beer line-up is stuck in the eighties and the best I could muster was a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Kip's is your basic bar and pool hall. I was planning not to write it up unless something caught my attention in a good way. But Kip's booked a truly rocking, contemporary band which actually played original music on this Saturday. Great bartenders and servers, always friendly. Drinks are resonably priced. Some decent food for bar food too. Get the Club Sandwich, it's super good. Also if you have a choice between chips and fries go with the chips. I don't know if they are homemade but they are some of teh best chips I've ever had.
