After returning from an ultrasound, she explained that she could not walk and needed assistance getting back into the bed. A staff member said they would find a nurse, but she overheard the nurse say in the hallway, "Uh uh, she's gonna have to get up herself." The nurse then came in, harshly told my mother to get in bed by herself, and stormed out after snatching off the bed sheet--never returning. My mom has extremely limited mobility and cannot walk unaided. Hours later, when she asked to use the restroom, the same nurse rudely questioned her, asking how she goes at home and how she plans to get out of the hospital. The disregard and cruelty were appalling. I came to the hospital immediately, filed a complaint with the charge nurse (Tanisha), and was told I'd need to speak with someone named Thomas to get the nurse's name. I will be taking this matter further. Patients deserve dignity and proper care--this was a violation of both.
