My husband & I are repeat customers. When we purchased our home we had the cabinets reskinned with all new doors, drawers & new hardware. When we decided to have our countertops done we did shop options of doing it ourselves (finding & scheduling our own tradesmen's from demo, drywall, electrical, plumbing & painting) vs. Kirkplan doing it all. Kirkplan did all the scheduling of the work & we were pleased with all the tradesmen's showing up as scheduled & the work that was done. We were told it would take 2 weeks & it was! The Cambria countertops we choose was far superior in quality to any others we looked at. We are very pleased & Love our new kitchen. We cannot recommend this company starting with the sales person/designer, who's ego is bigger than he is. The subcontractors Kirkplan uses are inferior. They had to return countless times to finish/repair what hadn't been done or issues created by them. Communication between Kirkplan, designer, project manager, subcontractors and customer was beyond poor. This job should have taken two months at the most and instead took six months. There was a time when no one showed for three weeks. read more

I would never recommend this company for anything! They are arrogant and the customer service is beyond poor! They have ghosted us twice about showing up to the house. They lied to the BBB about our kitchen cabinets. The salesperson never contacted us one time during or after completion of the project. In fact, he made an antisemitic remark when we were discussing prices. I informed one of the now previous owners who thought it was funny! The company apparently was purchased by Design Works in 2021. Called Design Works to speak with Dave Koffman and was directed to a voicemail. Of course, I never received a return call. While our project was completed in 2019, Kirkplan does not apparently back their products nor do they care about any issues being experienced by their customers or previous customers. Unlike other reviews I've read, I had an excellent experience with KirkPlan doing a complete renovation on our guest bath. The project manager, Stan, was responsive and on site often. The sub-contractors all were polite and professional, easy to work with. The overall quality of work was excellent. The price was good and although it took a bit longer than we hoped, what project doesn't nowadays. We will most likely use KirkPlan again when we redo a few things in our kitchen. read more

Kirkplan Kitchens did an outstanding job of remodeling our kitchen. There is a waiting time for them to get started but that's with all businesses nowadays. The demolition was done in a few hours, the plumbers and electricians did a great job. The cabinet installers did a super job. The project manager (Nino) was outstanding. the company was very responsive when I first contacted them and someone came out right away. Nice guy. But ultimately the communications was sub par. Not getting back to me when promised. (Almost two weeks instead of three days). Spoke with Sales Mgr about concerns and getting a new rep. He was not interested at all and actually had my original rep contact me after I said no. Plus the company couldn't perform a simple service (no details needed) in order to move forward with a quote. Finally explained to them if they don't seem to care that much about me when trying to secure my business, then I have to be concerned about my project if I actually hired them. Been there. The project started with Scott Guthrie coming to the house to discuss options, time frame and price. Unlike other quartz manufactures ,we learned the Cambria quartz is manufactured in the US ,as many of the quartz products are manufactured in the far east. Cambria also comes with a lifetime and transferable warranty. All plumbing and electric is handled by Kirkland and is included in the price. The project started right on time and from the get go, all services done at the residence were neat and clean along with great contractors.( the plumber even leveled my dishwasher). Not one issue arose and the project was completed exactly as promised. Can't say enough positives for Kirkplan! Highly recommend them to anyone. Horrid company no customer service . Out of all their subs the plumber and tear out guy for my shower were only positive . They acted like they were doing US a favor 50 % deposit ---bad measurements and communication WERE the norm . THEY do not communicate with subs and then subs do badly. One day we sat for hours while tile was not measured properly , materials woops a mistake . 5 months they had 50% and did not ever have plan . I signed my contract on May 11, 2022 to renovate my master bath. It was supposed to be done (promised) no later than Halloween/Thanksgiving. We were quoted a start time of 20 weeks, no later than September. It didn't actually start until December. We are coming up on my 1 year anniversary of signing and still not done. Still waiting on the mirror and they still have not hung the towel racks or safety bars yet. I have used Kirkplan before and was quite satisfied with their work. I have only a few problems with the work so far. I like what they have done but I am tired of having a half done master bathroom since December when they demo'd it. We got our cabinets from Kirkplan- wow! The process was easy, the design was so much better than the kitchen we were replacing, and there was strong attention to detail. The cabinets were pre-built, a few arrived damaged and the staff was on top of it and got them replaced ASAP to keep our project on timeline. The damages were not the fault of Kirkplan. The soft close hinges are a dream. We've received so many compliments on our remodel! I'm surprised to see the comments about different sized projects getting different attention. Our home and project were smaller vs. what I think the norm is Kirkplan and we were taking a DIY approach. We still received amazing service, especially when our cabinet arrived damaged. read more

On Jan. 4, 2021 (exactly 4 months ago), we gave our deposit to have Kirkplan reface our kitchen cabinets & tile our backsplash. We were told the job would start in 8-10 weeks, and take 2 weeks to complete. After waiting 10 weeks (March 15) for the job to start, Kirkplan started installing the wrong-colored cabinets. They told us it was the manufacturer's mistake and it would now take another 8-10 weeks, to get the correct-colored cabinets. We told them that was unacceptable because we have already waited 10 weeks, so they said they would "rush" the cabinets and begin the installation by May 3rd (today). May 3rd came and went, and not only are my cabinets not being worked on, but no one from Kirkplan is letting me know what's going on with my job. I have reached out to Kirkplan, even texting the Project Manager, but I have not received a reply. In the meantime, these pictures show the condition they left my kitchen in-- My kitchen has been in this condition for the past 6 1/2 weeks, since Kirkplan first tore it apart. The only work they've done is they have installed the tile backsplash. This is the most unprofessional, unorganized company I have ever dealt with. I will post updated photos and update the status of this job as it progresses. But at this point, it has been 4 months since we gave our deposit and my kitchen looks worse now than it did before Kirkplan started their work on it. read more

Kirk plan kitchens is a joke. The sales man gave us all the promises and dreams and the once the contract was signed we waited and waited and waited some more. We did all the prep work once they told us the cabinets were on there was. Everything was set to be installed and the. We waited and waited and waited again. Then once the installation started my husband had to have them fix all the crappy work the installers did. Don't even bother trying to call. You call and they promise to get back with you that day and a week or two will go by before you ever hear from them and then only after you call again. Call around and get a smaller family owned business because these guys don't know a thing about good customer service. read more

I agree with Katherine W. and Pete S. Kirkplan has taken an approach of SALES at all costs, customer communication / relations comes last. The salesman Tim promised all the work would be taken care of by them, we wouldn't have to worry about anything, I heard the work "This isn't our first rodeo" at least a dozen times. Well, that couldn't be further from the truth. Also Tim asked me point blank, why cant you write me a check right now? TWICE! I almost fired them before we started due to his pushy sales approach. They are stretched way too thin. They underestimate the times, came with the wrong materials, and sold us a plan with renderings that don't exist in the cabinet offerings. While they did make it right by modifying the cabinets to look like the drawings there was a lot of finger pointing back at the salemen who don't ever do installs, they pick a picture from the database that doesn't match they actual cabinet inventory. Bad on them. If you enjoy contractors staying all hours of the night, then Kirkplan is for you. On 3 separate occasions we had contractor here past 830pm, and we have 2 small children. There was no communication wrt schedules and a complete lack of understanding of the scope of work. All the subs did a great job (with the exception of the demo) but none of them were actually aware of magnitude of the project, therefore they all spent much longer here than anticipated. No Project Manager ever visited the site. They hired a site manager to help manage the 65+ projects they were trying to juggle, but each of the 2 times he showed up he didn't have any plans or knowledge of our project. Just find somewhere else, really, You can find your own subs and save a bundle, these guys are unprofessional at best. I do project management and complex system integration for a living, I know how to coordinate vendors. Kirkplan would do better with 30 less projects. read more

My wife and I of over 50+ years have undergone several kitchen and bath remodeling projects in multiple locations. Hiring Kirkplan was the worst contracting decision we've ever made. Nothing went right. A small guest bathroom remodel turned into a nightmare. The project was completed late due to several screw-ups; the drywaller had to return several times to correct notable deficiencies; the original painting contractor was a complete hack. He painted over hardware on doors and was replaced upon our insistence. The project manager was a joke and preferred to manage the project through cell phone pictures and text messages. He only showed on-site when we insisted or when he wanted to collect a check. In all our previous projects the standard pricing model was 1/3 up front, 1/3 at mid-project or other agreed to milestone, and 1/3 upon project completion. Kirkplan's insistence on 1/2 paid up front upon contract signing is outside of industry standards and exorbitant. The project manager even tried to get us to pay $150 for a service to clean up after his employees and subcontractors at project completion but he relented when we complained. All in all it was a terrible experience. Note that they only positive reviews on their website. read more

Kirkplan Kitchens is one of the worst companies I have dealt with. The project start date was several months later than what they told us when we signed the contract. Every sub they used had to come back and redo almost everything. The plumber was there three times to correctly move a shower drain and get it done right. The quartz folks were there three times as well to get the seams correct. The drywall fixes had to be done multiple times as well. Their project manager did not even know the order of events for the job. Their tile folks messed shower floor by not having the floor draining level into the linear drain. read more

We updated our kitchen in mid October. Kirkplan is Amazing. Showed up on time, everyone and every detail was completed professionally. There was a lot of coordination across plumbers, electrician, etc but Becky kept us informed of the progress. Job was finished on schedule and we absolutely LOVE our new kitchen. The worst remodel experience ever. One small master bath took 6 months from start to finish. I had to PM the project myself. Sales staff was rude and condescending. The PM never came to the job to check on it or the craftsmanship. My recommendation, go anywhere else. But do not use Kirkplan. read more

Kirkplan Kitchens did a great job on my kitchen remodel. Everyone involved was so helpful. Todd was my salesman and he showed me how I could have much better use of my kitchen space. We raised the ceiling, took out a wall, and moved appliances around to create more usable space. Wes did a great job with the demolition and helped save some of my tiles so I wouldn't have to replace my floor. Believe me, that was a great saving! Mark helped me pick the right hardware and backsplash to go with my colors and cabinets. Kres installed the cabinets and did a beautiful job making sure everything was right. Ray the site supervisor addressed all of our concerns immediately and returned calls right away. I think their customer service was excellent. I'm so glad we chose this company to do our kitchen and would highly recommend them. read more

Kirkplan remodeled my kitchen and bathroom. I was told that the project would take 6 to 8 weeks. Instead, The project took almost 6 months to complete. The plumbing was shoddy And the cheapest material was used. The bathroom sinks began to leak after two months of use. The plumber had to return and we were told that the cheapest materials were used and that's why the sinks were leaking. The garbage disposal in the kitchen was shady as well. It did not work after a year and a new garbage disposal had to be installed. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Be very careful choosing this company, upfront sales guy is very personable but company and the contractors they hire are less than adequate. The initial installer was a hacker he couldn't find a stud and missed many on first attemp, he cut cabinets to fit in vents and destroyed the interiors. Make shure you get EVERYTHING. in writing you ask about because the manager ( Jim ) has a problem with remembering what he agreed to. The plumber left a leak, the electrician did not connect grounds, the counter installer did not support the quartz and left floating in many areas. We finally after many months got a real installer to fix the many problems left by Kirkplan. Also they dont follow up, check on their sub contactors and the only time they are calling and interested is when they want a check. read more

BIG MISTAKE! A simple kitchen reface took 22 WEEKS from start to finish. Unreal. Some cabinets had to be redone 3 times before they came out right. The lazy susan install was a nightmare and the oven hood arrived dented. A TOTAL DISASTER. No one returned our calls and the installers that showed up were clueless. They are Sarasota's WORST NOT the best as they advertise. All our friends and family witnessed the 22 week nightmare and would never hire them. read more

Very similar to Robbye L experience with Todd/Kirkplan, we had sent them original house drawings, they came out 3 - 4 times and Todd had some good ideas and supposedly had some concept plans that we would have in the next couple days, yadda, yadda, yadda, never heard from again. The difference was that our kitchen was a complete remodel including removing walls, so probably in the $50k - $75k range. Must be nice to be that busy, but very unprofessional to not follow up either way!!!!! read more

I had not planned to report my Mar 2018 negative experience w/Todd of Kirkplan until I read the Apr 2018 review that Kirkplan doesn't call you back if your remodel estimate is "low". I laughed when I saw the review and shouted "that's why we never heard from Todd again". My story: I contacted Nigel at Kirkplan in Mar 2018 requesting an estimate for builtin cabinets for 2 bedrooms. He sent Todd on 3/28 who measured and discussed his and our ideas. Extremely pleasant and friendly. He estimated costs for our cabinets would be around $15K; we felt fine about that "range" and Todd said he'd get back w/us by 3/30 to review the Kirkplan contract and pursue next steps, etc. We shook hands and said we were thrilled w/his ideas. Guess what...never heard a peep from Todd or Kirkplan. Guess $15K was too low of a project. Go figure? We're now smiling at our "fabulous luck" at dodging what was obviously going to be a negative experience. read more

Terrible products and customer service. After 3 years, the thermafoil on several of the cabinet doors began to buckle. We were supposed to have a 10 year warranty but were told by the Kirkplan rep that the company that supplied the doors to Kirkplan had gone out of business and our only recourse was for us to pay for all new doors at $100 each. Would like to warn anyone reading this that Kirkplan uses inferior products and does not stand behind their warranty. read more

I have had a very frustrating experience with Kirkplan. The salesman was excellent he gave us great ideas re: maximizing space in our kitchen. The install of cabinets and countertops ( including repairing damaged cabinet doors) has taken approximately two months. Much longer than originally stated. The counter top fabricator Coastal Granite and Tile has been tough to work with. (Delayed counter tops, not returning phone calls, cutting them crooked etc) In the end the kitchen is beautiful. However, we chose painted wood doors. The already have cracks in the paint.. I was told this is "normal" for painted doors and they would not be replacing them. I am very disappointed in the quality of the product for the price as well as the work of the sub contractors this company uses. read more

Worst renovation experience ever! Recently contracted for new flooring throughout our home, refaced cabinets and new counter tops. This was a $60k job. The demo was horrific...appliances ripped out with no regard to proper procedure and very little effort to seal off the destruction filth from the rest of the house. With the exception of the flooring sub and Andy, the rest of Kirkplan's employees and subs were unreliable and not very proficient. We had to hire an electrician to redo their work. The "supervisor" Jim was unconcerned and out of touch. He never returned calls and only visited our home twice. A job that was projected to last 6 weeks ground on for over 3 months.. Kirkplan may appear more economical than other contractors, but bear in mind...you get what you pay for. Wish we'd made a different decision. read more

Contracted with Kirlkplan on 26 June to remodel bath: Remove garden tub, replace with vanity and replace a 2nd vanity. Re-tile floor. replace drywall where tub removed. Wire for lights/outlets over new vanity. Replace shower door and half wall with glass. Job was to take approx. 6 weeks. Install new vanity tops & sinks as well as two half-wall caps. Next week begins the 18th week, and still final County inspection hasn't been done. Every phase of the project (except electrical) has had to be done two to three times -- a couple four times. When one phase finished, there would be lapse of several days, and I would have to call Kirkplan to ask them _"OK, what's next?" On one occasion one of the sub-contractors nearly set fire to my house and ME. How the fire started I don't know, but I heard yelling and a guy ran thru living room asking for fire extinguisher, not finding one he grabbed a towel from a stack of clean clothes using that to smother flames, but not before it, too, was in flames and he threw it to the bath door where I was standing and nearly caught my trousers on fire. I got an apology. My experience with Kirkplan is that t it should not be allowed to operate. They are the most incompetent group I have had the misfortune of dealing with in my 86 years of existence. there work reminded me of Keystone Kops (old silent movies). While all confusing of remodeling was going on, my wife was in rehab recovering from a broken hip. But that didn't stop Kirkplan from breaking appointments, or screwing up when they did keep them. Unfortuantely, its work never improved no matter how many times the did it. I had planed to have guest bathroom and kitchen up-dated, but I don't think I can handle any stress any time in the near future. read more

Contracted to have them reface my kitchen. Salesman told me the faces of the cabinets would be done in one piece with no seams. What really happened when the one work person arrived was a nightmare. She did no prep work on the cabints even though I had told them they were very greasy and had been painted baldly with losts of runs. When she started putting glue on the new material she just laid the piece right on my counter top which was not going to be replaced.The result was glue all over the place. When it came to time to do some of the larger pieces I asked her about doing them in one piece and she said the company oly had enough material to do it with seams. I could carry on about how tense the atmosphere was while she was doing the job but I know that this process is stressful anyway. When I tried to talk to her manager he and his boss just minimized the way things were done and sent her back to patch the seams better. read more
