This is a bit of a long story, will attempt to make it as concise as possible…read more Started with mild discomfort. Saw my regular dentist. He saw issues with 2 teeth. One was a prior root canal & other showed a suspicious possible infection. He referred me to an endodontist. They confirmed issue with prior root canal & agreed issue with adjacent tooth & mentioned a cyst that had to be addresed. Said both teeth need to be extracted. The extraction of both teeth would be followed up with implants. They advised seeing implant specialist & have him extract both teeth & prepare for implant. Went to implant guy. He confirmed prior opinions. All this time I had no pain or discomfort. Per my dentist I'd been on Amoxicillin and it appeared to mitigate the infection & pain. He said both teeth need to come out, but he was unable to do extractions & suggested I see an oral surgeon. My wife had seen Dr. Sasportas' associate last year. Called his office. Had initial consultation with Dr. Sasportas. He was very patient very calm & confident demeanor. After looking at x-rays he was confident he could repair prior root canal with no extraction. Other tooth was inconclusive re: extraction but thought it would probably need to come out. He also explained the infection & cyst was a big problem due to proximity to my eye. If cyst burst I could lose vision in that eye. He was very patient & answered all of my questions. Scheduled surgical appointment for following week. At surgical appointment De. Sasportas reviewed everything with me. Again very patient calm demeanor. He also reassured me the procedure would be painless.All through the procedure he was speaking to me updating me on progress & reassuring me all was going according to plan & his expectations. When he was done he surprised me telling me he was able to remove infected area behind the tooth & no extractions were necessary. I had 1 dentist telling me looked like I may need 2 teeth extracted. I had 2 specialist confirming 2 teeth-needed to be extracted followed by 2 implants. And Dr. Sasportas says, No Extraction required. I left his office with all my teeth in place & 6 stitches in my gum. Following the surgery I experienced ZERO PAIN. Not even minor discomfort requiring no pain meds not even Tylenol. As he said, there'd be no pain he was right. Job well done- start to finish.

In my case, my son had a procedure done in mid 2020 and the company filed the claim directly with my insurance. I didn't receive an invoice for any balance. So I assumed the insurance covered in full and thus the $1500 I set aside in my FSA for that year went to waste. Fast forward 4 year later, in May of 2024, I received a debt collector notice that I owe nearly $1000 for the balance. The company failed to invoice me in 2020 so now they just use collector to harass me! The collector threaten to damage my credit score by reporting my debt if I don't pay. In the end, not only did I waste my FSA money in 2020, I have to pay almost $1000 to get rid of the collector and the harassment. Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery of Central NJ is the scum of the earth and I sincerely hope they go out of business soon. I will report them to the BBB and I urge others to do the same because this type of business victimizes customers and shouldn't be allowed to exist.

Dr. Weinberger has been my dentist for at least 10 years and there is no denying he does high quality work. Dr. Weinberger has done everything from taking care of my teeth when I have had braces , general cleanings, complex fillings, to wisdom tooth extraction and the like. What I respect is he always gives you the bottom line. He clearly lays out all of your choices regarding his suggestions. For example, Dr. Weinberger told me very plainly " you can get a filling now and your insurance will cover 60% and you will pay about 150 bucks or you can commit to flossing and buying a 7 dollar bottle of mouth wash to use daily. Your choice." Yes, I should floss regularly, but the point is he was frank and respected both my money and my want to have as little work done as possible. Beyond his charming, direct, professional manner, Dr. Weinberger also solves problems rather than giving temporary solutions. I have watched my boyfriend's filling leak into his gums after just 5 years. While I am always cautioned the work may not last a lifetime, I have had fillings for 8+ years that are still perfect. In fact, other dentists that I have visited have complimented me on work done half a decade ago as though it were brand new. Dr. Weinberger has even repaired work done by the less cautious. In my acquaintance with Dr. Weinberger he has served my entire immediate family and been kind enough to let us pay in installments. And while this review makes it seem like I have a bevy of dental problems, I can't say enough about the transformation my knowledge of dental hygiene and smile have gone through under Dr. Weinberger's care. Oh and just for an update I came in for a cleaning in December desperate to spend up my insurance money. Dr. Weinberger of course would have no part of my spend down plan. Instead he complimented my teeth and commended my efforts to floss. I guess I should have been flossing all these years.

For example, my twins started seeing him at a very young age, one twin had a terrible gag reflex and needed some work. Because of his special needs, he was referred to a Pediadontist, while the other twin was able to have all of her needs met with Dr Weinberger at that time. I have had other extensive medical needs, Dr Weinberger was always compassionate and coordinated my dental needs with the other things going on medically to the best extent possible. I have full trust in any of his recommendations. He is very gentle and compassionate. I still don't like needing to go to any dentist, but if I must go, Dr Weinberger is the only one for me! He makes you feel like family.

We landed here based on the recommendation of a family friend and have been pleased ever since. They handle everything with insurance in a calm and competent way, which already puts them ahead of much of modern civilization. Once you are an established patient, getting appointments is organized, predictable, and refreshingly free of drama. This alone is worth something in a world that so often prefers confusion. I have been seen by both the father and the son, and they are each competent, caring, and attentive in a way that suggests they actually notice the human attached to the teeth. The dental techs are consistently good at what they do, and the front desk staff is genuinely nice, not the forced nice that feels like a performance, but the real thing. We keep coming back, not out of habit, but because the care is solid, the people are kind, and our teeth continue to function as intended. Five stars.
