Block all calls, and throw away all correspondence from these people . I don't normally respond to…read morespam calls or mail , but this time for some reason I did . They offered us a nice steak dinner in sedona. A long drive, but it would be nice to have a steak dinner in Sedona and see the sites . When we got there this slack jaw overweight horizontal stripe t-shirt stepson told us they were full . I told him we have a reservation . He literally just stared at me . Not a word . I said we drove all the way to Northern Arizona for this , and we have reservations . This guy must have practiced this dumb look, cuz he did it again . I said what are you going to do about this. He said well, I can put you over in a chair in that corner and your wife over there in a chair and you can watch the presentation . I told him we drove all the way up to Northern Arizona for this , once again this master of conversation just stared at me . That's when we walked away . I have made many Investments over the years, I make pretty good money with them . I wanted to hear what these people had to say , I'm almost glad they were as inept as I think they are . I don't want people touching my money who can't even organize a simple dinner presentation. We were pissed off to say the least . Not a thank you for coming. Not a sorry you wasted your time and gas money . Just empty stairs . I'm going to post this review everywhere I possibly can, for as long as I can , until I get tired. And I don't get tired very easily

I met with Chuck and I would agree with the other reviewer that he is a bit condescending as if I…read morewasn't well prepared enough for him with my spreadsheets, last years returns, notes, 1099 forms, deductions organized in a spreadsheet, etc. He seemed very disinterested in helping me with my taxes which prompted me to, at the end of our meeting, ask "is this something that you're comfortable with taking on" to which he replied (very aloof) "yeah but not until May". There were a lot of mannerisms like, scratching his head in frustration and dropping his hands on the table as if to say, this is ridiculous. I felt as though I was wasting his time when I drove to his office and am more than prepared to pay his $300 per hour rate. Eventually, while trying to set up a time/date in May he told me that he has changed his mind and no longer wants to work with me. I believe it to be because I corrected him on the dates that he sent me to schedule from. He had sent me an email saying that he is available May the 10th, Friday but, May the 10th is a Thursday. So, I simply wanted to be clear on which date to schedule. I am sure that he didn't like being "corrected" even though I was nothing but courteous with him the entire time. Most of my emails began with, "thank you again for taking the time to meet with me" and ended with "I appreciate your assistance" etc. Basically, things he should be saying to me as the client (not vice-versa). Instead, he was short and uninterested in his responses and in our meeting. I felt uncomfortable and judged as if I was some kid that didn't know what I was doing and it was up to him whether he wanted to waste his time with me or not. In the end, I guess he chose to not. I'll be more than fine, I'm actually very well versed in business income, deductions, tax forms, spreadsheets, etc. I really don't need to be made to feel that way especially, when I am educated. I'm not at all surprised that he declined to help me with my sole proprietorship taxes given his demeanor during our meeting and via email. He must make more than enough money than to deal with someone who can easily pay his asking rate and has all of his documents organized and available.

AWFUL advisor. Also, I question his knowledge about certain things. First off, I went to him to…read moreopen an investment account for just me. The first meeting, I was alone and the next meeting I was accompanied by my husband. After that McGrath took it upon himself to add my husband to the account...Why?...Because the "little lady" could not possibly have this account on her own. Here's what, because of my husband's residency status at the time, legally he could not be on the account. I had to put together a legal opinion letter for McGrath. Also, his own company told him my husband could not be added. In addition to not being very knowledgeable about certain things, the documentation he requires has not been required of me by any other financial advisor, in my life. He wanted to see tax returns (I never provided because I didn't go to him for CPA services); he wanted a copy of my driver's license AND a copy of my business card. Really?? Can you say "potential identity theft landmine!" I can't help but wonder if he was either being nosy or suspect (like he couldn't believe that I did what I did for a living). I often wondered if he treated ALL his clients like that.
