The staff was very friendly, and it was fun to watch regular customers being greeted by name and sometimes having their usual orders started before they even sat down. The restaurant stayed busy during our visit, which speaks to the community support they receive. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and my wife had the Cajun Benedict. The food was decent, but it wasn't memorable enough for us to specifically come back for the menu alone. That said, the overall experience and atmosphere made the visit worthwhile. Family member recommended us to a local place nearby called Kiss The Cook and kept hyping up the atmosphere and environment here. This place was great, as food comes out nice and hot and full of flavor and definitely lives up to their statement on the menu about everything being made from scratch and they lived up to that with great food and the staff provide great service, welcoming and friendly. Definitely make me feel like I am at my Grandma's house on a Sunday morning for family breakfast. As you walk inside it's like going back in time in the cutest way, with old metal milk cans, pictures, and knick knacks too. We waited to be seated while our table was being bussed, and the butter pecan coffee aroma was so inviting ! I loved that they had yummy dog biscuits for sale at the entrance, with a photo of a pup named "Chewy" digging in. We ordered breakfast while enjoying our coffees and chatting at the table. I had the Country Breakfast with sunny side eggs, apple smoked bacon, biscuits in gravy. One had only a slice of pie as he already had his breakfast and it was gone before I got a photo...oops. Lastly there was a Cook's Breakfast with pancakes, bacon, eggs, and a beautiful basket of mini muffins that are so good... The lady serving our table was great, smiling, and paid attention to coffee mugs. The one thing that could have been a bit better was the pancakes: a little bit underdone in the middle, tasting of raw flour, but were fluffy and good otherwise. I don't come over this side of town often, but next time ... we'll be back :) PS They have frozen "take and bake" pies and fresh ones too, so make sure you order 24hrs in advance if you want a whole one. After a the office visit I searched for a breakfast place on the way to the next appointment. I wanted to take out an egg sandwich only. The cashier took the order. I should have asked the price. When it was done she used the calculator and comes up with 14.95. I am so tired of sticker shock since the post Covid era started. It's just sickening. There is a Jack in the box down the street. They have excellent breakfast sandwiches, but I thought I do a locally owned place. The other comments about the interior atmosphere are true. It is very quaint, but it is not a gourmet restaurant. The outside look is run down and the parking lot could use some work. I'll stick to Phoenix. Much more variety of places and prices that fit my budget. read more

One of my favorite breakfast spots when I lived in Arizona! Love supporting family-run local spots! Can't believe this spot has been around for more than a century! Parking can be difficult since the lot isn't that big and it can be packed especially on the weekends! Service is very friendly and welcoming. Pretty small and not too many tables inside but there is outdoor seating! There are a lot of options and variety to choose from, such as sandwiches, Benedicts, pancakes, egg dishes and everything is very reasonably priced (mostly under $20!) and portions are very generous! I ordered the build-your-own omelette and there were plenty of ingredients to choose from for $16.40! The omelette was so delicious, flavorful, and stuffed with ingredients! The potatoes could have been crispier and felt a little dry but they weren't too bad. I would say it's 8/10 My friend got the egg Benedict ($18.50) and he said it was very yummy and the egg was perfectly poached! There is also complimentary homemade muffins that are sooo good! Despite this place being located in the middle of a completely run down, broken glass filled parking lot, the interior of the restaurant is filled with a really nice, rustic charm. I tried out their French Toast with bacon and their crepes. The bacon was quite bad. They used a lemon flavored bread for their French Toast which I wasn't a huge fan of. My cousin had a turkey sandwich that came w/ a side of potato salad and I had the New Orleans Cajun Omelete. It's a hearty serving, I definitely was able to take 1/2 of it home as well as some of the taters. Lets just say it was busy and I seen why. I was sat about 10 minutes later. The waitress Ms. Denise was busy but on it. She took very good care of me. I decided on French Toast w/ Sausage. i enjoyed the french toast not a fan of the sausage at all but the bakers basket of muffins made up for that. The baker basket comes with 3 muffins. I met my brother and his friends for breakfast. It has a quaint diner feel. I ordered huevos rancheros with poached eggs. This is usually a fairly easy dish - not for the cook. The eggs were more hard-boiled, the tortilla was super thin and stuck to the plate, and the "rancheros" sauce was a bad salsa with chopped raw onions. Needless to say, I didn't finish my food. I would say the the place was 50% full and we stood at the resister for what seemed like 10 minutes before we were seated. Then after we ordered, another long wait. **A Diamond In The Rough** This is hands down one of the cutest and coziest restaurants. Me and my family were driving through and all starving, and saw this place. It doesn't look like much from the outside and definitely in need of some TLC to the building, but we stopped anyways, and I'm so glad we did. Our waitress was Suzanne, and she could not have been anymore hospitable or attentive. She's so friendly and kind and have great suggestions on the menu. We ordered the chicken fajita omelette, corn beef hash, and blueberry cream cheese stuffed French toast breakfasts not a single item we ate was less than fantastic. Everything cooked fantastically and seasoned to perfection. I forgot to mention while you're waiting for your food they bring out a basket of fresh and warm mini muffins and real butter to snack on. They're so good, and tasty we ordered a basket to go for later. While across town on our way to another errand we decided to stop for breakfast here. Located in a very old part of town; the parking lot is large and east to access. Once inside you're asked to wait. We got there just before a huge rush which was great so we were seated right away. I'm not sure how to describe the decor besides farmhouse type with mismatched chairs and semi outdated lol. Kinda homey feel, but definitely old. The service was great the entire visit and we never had to ask for anything. They bring homemade muffins to the table with the blueberry being my favorite. Coffee was decent and we had our meals quickly. I ordered the eggs Benedict and my husband your basic eggs, potatoes and such. He liked to try biscuits and gravy every where we go and he said it was just ok. My eggs Benedict were decent, but my egg was poached too long and no runny yolk at all when cut into. I definitely did not care for the potatoes. There was no seasoning, no color...nothing, but cut up and boiled potato's it felt like. Please bring some hash browns or other options please.
