Family member recommended us to a local place nearby called Kiss The Cook and kept hyping up the atmosphere and environment here. This place was great, as food comes out nice and hot and full of flavor and definitely lives up to their statement on the menu about everything being made from scratch and they lived up to that with great food and the staff provide great service, welcoming and friendly. Definitely make me feel like I am at my Grandma's house on a Sunday morning for family breakfast. Today Susan was the lovely waitress to help us but the whole service definitely didn't feel like she was just a waitress, she acted like family and was so kind and sweet and caring and checking on us constantly and definitely felt more like we were with a family member and loved the experience she gave us

As you walk inside it's like going back in time in the cutest way, with old metal milk cans, pictures, and knick knacks too. We waited to be seated while our table was being bussed, and the butter pecan coffee aroma was so inviting ! I loved that they had yummy dog biscuits for sale at the entrance, with a photo of a pup named "Chewy" digging in. We ordered breakfast while enjoying our coffees and chatting at the table. I had the Country Breakfast with sunny side eggs, apple smoked bacon, biscuits in gravy. One had only a slice of pie as he already had his breakfast and it was gone before I got a photo...oops. Lastly there was a Cook's Breakfast with pancakes, bacon, eggs, and a beautiful basket of mini muffins that are so good... The lady serving our table was great, smiling, and paid attention to coffee mugs. The one thing that could have been a bit better was the pancakes: a little bit underdone in the middle, tasting of raw flour, but were fluffy and good otherwise. I don't come over this side of town often, but next time ... we'll be back :) PS They have frozen "take and bake" pies and fresh ones too, so make sure you order 24hrs in advance if you want a whole one. There is a daily pie on the menu: today was Turtle pie with extra crunchies.

Great Omelets - build-your-own omelette was so yummy - 8/10

One of my favorite breakfast spots when I lived in Arizona! Love supporting family-run local spots! Can't believe this spot has been around for more than a century! Parking can be difficult since the lot isn't that big and it can be packed especially on the weekends! Service is very friendly and welcoming. Pretty small and not too many tables inside but there is outdoor seating! There are a lot of options and variety to choose from, such as sandwiches, Benedicts, pancakes, egg dishes and everything is very reasonably priced (mostly under $20!) and portions are very generous! I ordered the build-your-own omelette and there were plenty of ingredients to choose from for $16.40! The omelette was so delicious, flavorful, and stuffed with ingredients! The potatoes could have been crispier and felt a little dry but they weren't too bad. I would say it's 8/10 My friend got the egg Benedict ($18.50) and he said it was very yummy and the egg was perfectly poached! There is also complimentary homemade muffins that are sooo good! Super fluffy and soft! Would totally recommend this spot!

Despite this place being located in the middle of a completely run down, broken glass filled parking lot, the interior of the restaurant is filled with a really nice, rustic charm. I tried out their French Toast with bacon and their crepes. The bacon was quite bad. They used a lemon flavored bread for their French Toast which I wasn't a huge fan of. The crepes were also nothing special. The place was fairly busy so service wasn't on point. Pretty much an average experience all throughout.

A cozy rustic diner with an admittedly slightly run-down appearance. The food was delicious and served in good portions. The mini muffin basket was a particularly noteworthy signature item.

Dined-6.15.24: Been here a couple of times as I love breakfast & this is local spot that hits the spot! My cousin had a turkey sandwich that came w/ a side of potato salad and I had the New Orleans Cajun Omelete. It's a hearty serving, I definitely was able to take 1/2 of it home as well as some of the taters. Staff are always so friendly & when my toast came out extra crispy our server mentioned it and immediately worked on getting me another order of toast. Food is good, made to order & they also sell homemade baked goods, jam & doggie treats. Been here before & will definitely be back!

This restaurant is uniquely flavored with homemade freshness you can taste. We have been regulars for many years. It has an antique store decor & most of the decor is for sale. The service is amazing. Gwen was our server today and boy is she on top of things. Kudos to her for being amazing at her job. We also love Susan she's great too. The flavored coffee of the day changes so make sure you give it a taste. Pie's are available for pick up with one days notice. The mini muffins are the best. They also have different flavors so check availability. May this family owned restaurant continue to service the community for many more years to come. Thank you

What an uplifting down home experience. This space has been welcoming restaurant with home style cooking for several years. We were graciously welcomed with a flavored coffee or regular coffee- both were very good. Food was well prepared and served warm and again with smiles. Service was excellent. I am a fan of supporting small businesses especially when the service and food is great!!

Have passed by the restaurant for years and decided to try it for an early weekday breakfast. Place has a country antique vib. Ordered eggs, breakfast potatoes and bacon. They provide a basket with a variety of small baked muffins. Service was good, coffee was hot and breakfast was tasty. The bacon was thick cut and a pleasant surprise. Good choice for breakfast and a step back in time.

    What's served for breakfast?

The waitress said they are known for their pancakes, Benedicts, and omelettes. I would also suggest the homemade pecan cinnamon roll. The lunch menu is mostly burgers, sandwiches, and other traditional options.

    Where's the breakfast menu?

Checkout the pictures ... there is a section labeled menu and a picture of both breakfast and lunch are posted there. I suggest the homemade pecan cinnamon roll!!

Second -- CASH ONLY There is a Hawaiian inspiration/theme at the The OBH mixed with mexican flavors -- basically if you like a lot of meat with your breakfast then come here. When looking at other people's plates the portions looked very large -- the prices are average -- not cheap but not over the top. I did see someone with a cinnamon roll that looked pretty delicious. My mom had been here one other time and got the cinnamon roll pancakes, which she loved (and why we are here today) -- Nothing was speaking to me on the menu so I just ordered the classic OBH pancakes. I would give them about a 5/10 on the pancake scale. Also they didn't have real maple syrup even to purchase for extra -- they say their syrup is a maple syrup blend -- it wasn't full on plastic but it wasn't real maple syrup. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs with cheddar -- it was a little runny and overall just average. The coffee was rank -- I would give it a 2/10. Our server was very friendly as was all of the other staff -- that is why I hate to only give 3 stars because it is a great local spot. When we left (around 9am) there was quite a long wait -- so you know it is very popular

But I was genuinely surprised by how great the entire experience turned out to be. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The servers were kind, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the meal. The owner even came by our table to talk with us about the restaurant, their values, and the care they put into making everything from scratch. That personal touch, along with a complimentary dessert, really made the experience memorable. The food was outstanding. The chicharrones were perfectly crunchy and seasoned with just the right amount of salt. The salsa tasted incredibly fresh and paired well with everything on the table. The carne asada was cooked beautifully, developing a flavorful crust from the Maillard reaction, which gave it that rich, savory, slightly crisp exterior while keeping the inside tender and juicy. Overall, this was one of those restaurants that completely exceeded my expectations. Trying to book my mom's 50th birthday party was a nightmare. Emails went unanswered, phone calls weren't returned, and I ultimately had to drive there in person just to get the event booked. After finally securing the date, I waited for a follow-up regarding the details, only to discover that the general manager had been let go. I was given the new GM's name and phone number, but despite multiple calls and text messages, I was completely ghosted. This left me scrambling to find another venue with only one month before an important family celebration. No customer should be left hanging like that after booking an event. This was actually my second chance giving Lola's another opportunity because I genuinely like the vibe of the place. The first time, my group of only six people was still enjoying drinks when staff told us we had to leave at 11:00 p.m. because there wasn't enough business to justify staying open. That experience was disappointing, but I decided to give them another shot anyway. Sadly, after this experience, I won't be returning. Great atmosphere means very little when communication, professionalism, and customer service are consistently lacking.

For anyone planning a visit, please be aware that the wait times can be significant if you do not have a prior reservation. Fortunately, our large party of over 10 guests was able to utilize an indoor corner space to wait comfortably until our table was ready. Once we were seated, the service was excellent. The staff was incredibly patient and attentive while managing a table of our size. The food and beverage options were generally well-received, though there were a few minor details to note. One guest mentioned that the options for mimosa flights were somewhat limited. On the food side, my order of the Mexican Cowboy Bowl was excellent and prepared exactly as expected. While most of our group's orders were correct, one eggs Benedict arrived overcooked despite a specific request during ordering to avoid this. Given the size of our party, the guest chose to accept the dish rather than send it back. Billing Tip: For transparency, an automatic 20% gratuity was included in the final bill for our large group. I recommend double-checking your receipt to keep this in mind before adding any additional tips. Overall, it is a great brunch destination with quality dishes, but making a reservation ahead of time is highly advisable.
