KIT Coffee is my go-to for a morning breakfast burrito and matcha when I am in the OC area. I like that they have a wide variety of food options along with their drink menu (coffees, teas, etc.) customer service is always super friendly and there's lots of indoor and outdoor seating (with some shade and non shaded areas). Restaurant aesthetic is super clean and simple and they do also have some cute cards available for purchase. The only downfall I've noticed when both eating in person and moreso takeout is on the weekends this place will get absolutely packed and the order ready times are often not accurate as they are so backed up with orders (especially on nice days). So just give yourself plenty of time if you're going on the weekends and/or on a sunny day. read more

Nice vibe here at KIT - but crazy crowded, the worst parking imaginable, and the coffee here is pretty mid. I always get a cold brew and a standard caffe latte as a comparison benchmark and whatever roasts they are using for these just lack flavor. There's a lot of competition for specialty coffee in the Costa Mesa/Newport/Irvine area and nothing stood out as amazing for me here. Would rather go to Moongoat or drive over to Cassel Earth in Irvine, both of which have fully integrated roasting programs and they absolutely slay their drinks. read more

We were visiting family in the Newport Coast area and wanted to go somewhere casual for brunch on a Sunday. This area was super busy and Kits was crowded!! We decided to place an order online for carryout and wait outside until it was ready. We got the bacon breakfast burrito and the cilantro fried rice. Both really good and unique flavors! I could have used a little more cheese on the burrito, but the sauces were excellent. The green was my favorite- it was mild with a lot of flavor. The red was good but a bit too spicy for me. The burrito had great flavor and was crispy. The portions were big and I could only eat half of it. I wish Kits wasnt as busy so I could have eaten inside instead of taking it to go. I wish they opened up a location in San Diego because how sad that now one of my favorite coffee shops is 1.5 hours away!! It's ok- just means I'll have to visit Newport more frequently! I ordered the strawberry fields latte, a donut and my friend got the matcha. My latte was incredible! Seating is a bit tough because there are a limited number of tables (outside at least) but there's always someone leaving. This place gets packed so make sure you arrive early or have a bit of time to wait. I will definitely be coming back! read more

Solid coffee shop in the Newport area. We got the bacon breakfast burrito and a vanilla latte. The latte was slightly too milky for my taste but I still enjoyed it. The burrito was excellent and one of the better breakfast burritos I have ever had. The tortilla was nice and crispy and the food didn't fall out. The different components of the burrito (especially rice and bacon) had a nice texture when eating it. Although the coffee was just ok, the burrito and ambiance were good enough to make me want to come back. read more

I've been having a renowned obsession with KIT. The breakfast burrito has been living in my head rent free all summer. There's a lot of great breakfast burritos but none I've had with this flavor profile. The combo of cilantro rice with chorizo and the perfect amount of cheese is immaculate. Their matcha has ofc always been my favorite and I especially love their new triple double because the strawberry taste persists but with a lot more body of matcha. I've brought several friends from out of town here and they're all also obsessed. I also love how somehow I can always manage to find a seat even though it's packed, and the baristas are always the sweetest! read more

We have been going to Kit for quite some time now and the Ube Latte is always the go to for us. Has great flavor and the little chunks at the bottom of the drink are like little boba pieces that are so good! People are always great and sweet but you can definitely tell they are quite busy and non-stop with their orders. Place has a cool vibe but again is usually packed with people working or studying. Go to spot if you like the noisy, on the go vibe! Do not get the food too often, but tried out the toast with some bacon added and was pretty solid choice. Definitely recommend adding some bacon to the toast that you get! read more

I didn't really enjoy my thank you berry matcha, and orange creamsicle. to be honest, maybe its my fault ordering a matcha at a coffee shop but the matcha was not rich or flavorful. I felt like the drinks were milky overall and not very dark green. Additionally, they made me a coffee by accident and made my matcha so quickly. Not sure what the preparation process was but I don't think it involved a Chasen. If you love matcha, I would suggest to go elsewhere. read more

This place rocks! It's tucked away on the side of a larger building, and parking is a little confusing but well worth it! There's a fair amount of seating (both indoor and outdoor), but I could imagine having a hard time finding a seat during peak hours. I got the Purple Dream (ube coconut drink) and a Breakfast Burrito. It was all so amazing!!! Absolutely delicious! You can tell they use high quality ingredients. They were busy so it did take a while to get my food, but I didn't mind. You'll find all the classics you expect at a cafe here, plus a very unique speciality drink menu. There's something for everyone. Definitely recommend coming here! read more

I came here with a friend yesterday on the way to lunch after seeing it on TikTok. We both had the shakerato with a splash of regular milk and half a syrup of Earl Grey so as not to make it too sweet. It was around 1pm, and it took 20 minutes to get our drinks. Came in on a Saturday morning and they were busy!! Good customer service. they had some indoor and outdoor seating but not too much. the parking lot was chaotic and very stressful. The caprese avocado toast was one of the best I have ever had. The toast itself was so fluffy and perfectly toasted. They generously put avocado on it! The iced matcha latte was lacking matcha flavor, it was very milky. Some of the fruity flavored sugary drinks looked good! Didn't try to give my opinion but they looked pretty! read more

One of the best matchas in Newport Beach (I recommend the strawberry cold foam) but due to KITs popularity, it's become overcrowded on the weekends with not enough staff to keep up. Slow wait times (40min for a mobile order for 1 drink). Extremely loud inside = not suitable for a catch-up with friends and impossible to hear a conversation. Lots of strollers, dogs and chaotic energy. Suggest going during the week and sitting outside on the patio on a sunny day followed by a walk on the nearby Back Bay loop. read more

Orange and Matcha are just my favorite and not a lot of places offer it so I was happy to have it here there is plenty of seating even though the place is small. Fast, friendly service in a nice area. Ordered an original matcha and an horchata matcha. Also ordered the soft scrambled toast. The toast was delicious with the egg being fresh and soft. The matcha was good, however they tasted more like milk than anything. I wish I tasted more cinnamon. Overall a nice chill spot with good ambiance. Came to KIT Coffee to try their breakfast burrito. I had seen pics online and it looked promising! Their breakfast burrito is $16 - eggs, hash browns, cilantro rice, cheddar cheese and your choice of protein (bacon, chorizo or soyrizo). It's a decent size and comes with red and green salsas. The burrito was nicely grilled and had a good mix of ingredients. Sometimes breakfast burritos can have too much eggs or too much potatoes, but this was perfectly balanced. It was a completely satisfying meal. I would definitely come back for another one! There's indoor and outdoor seating available. Lots of parking in the lot. read more

my least favorite thing to feel is an inconvenience to employees. the moment i walked in it felt very cold and unwelcoming. i ordered my drink (ice cortado over ice with oat milk). i was in there for 3 minutes but it wasn't a welcoming environment. the coffee is good and i like that they're precise abt how they make it. i want to give this place another chance bc maybe the employee was having an off day. i recommend stopping for the coffee though! read more

Traveled from LA to try out this coffee shop and it did not disappoint! We ordered the... *iced triple double matcha This matcha is well worth it if you love a deep rich matcha flavor. It has a sweet strawberry foam, topped with freeze dried strawberry bits. It is the best strawberry matcha latte I've ever had! *iced thank you berry matcha This drink has a light matcha flavor and more of a strawberry milk vibe with a touch of matcha. *iced purple dream This drink consists of a house made coconut ube syrup topped with a salted coconut cream. I'll have to come back here for brunch as it was very popular with a line out the door. About a 10 minute wait on a Saturday morning. They should have multiple copies of the menu while people wait in line because then there was a delay when you get to the cashier cuz you're too busy reading the menu. Ube coconut latte: very coconutty and good ube flavor. Rich but not heavy and not overly sweet. My friend got the strawberry matcha latte and it was solid. Strong matcha and strawberry flavor. i started with the thank you berry matcha and it was sooo yummy! would 10/10 get again and i loved everything about it. one of my favorite matchas ive ever had. for food i got the bacon breakfast burrito and i was super excited about it. original impression i was so excited with the crispy tortilla but unfortunately it looks better than it tastes. it lacked flavor in my opinion and i wouldn't want to eat plain again. 6/10 plain. it was served with green and red salsa which helped the flavor a lot! i tried both and ended up eating it with the green because it was less spicy. 7/10 with the green salsa. i do think the burrito would be super good with the red salsa but unfortunately it was too spicy for me. overall i would come back and try the chorizo breakfast burrito (if it isn't spicy) and DEFINITELY come back for the matcha. read more

I was really excited to try Kit Coffee since my sister recommended this place, especially when she talked about how good The Creamsicle was. I was glad when I heard The Creamsicle was staying for the summer because it's typically a Spring seasonal so I was able to try it. And I completely agree with her on how good the drink was! Came around 12:30pm and thankfully there wasn't a line but the tables were mostly occupied (the inside was quite spacious though and there is outside seating too). Service was good, and drinks came out relatively quick. I got The Creamsicle Matcha, which at first I was a bit hesitant on the orange and matcha combination, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this combination is. The more I drink it, the more I like it, and the orange slice was a good addition on top, making it a bit refreshing too. The cream foam was good and mixing it with the matcha made it a bit more creamy. I also appreciate that they didn't put too much ice. However, it is a bit pricy as it was $7, but I would still get it again once in awhile. Overall, Kit is a great spot to grab a drink and hang out with friends. Next time, I would want to try the Boysenberry latte seasonal so I would definitely be coming back! read more

I decided to check out Kit Coffee because of the massive amount of high reviews I've seen on Yelp and TikTok, but it completely fell short. If you are a true matcha lover who actually wants to taste high-quality matcha save your money and go elsewhere. I ordered two drinks and unfortunately, neither matched their steep price points: Thank You Berry Matcha ($7.50): For $7.50, I expected premium, scratch-made components. Instead, I was highly disappointed to find out their strawberry oatmilk isn't housemade--they are literally just pouring Califia Farms strawberry flavored oatmilk out of the carton. Worst of all, you could not taste the actual matcha tea flavor whatsoever. I'll give them props for it not being gritty, but they don't even hand-whisk their matchas here (ironic, considering they sell beautiful tea glassware right in the store). Seasonal Orange Cream Matcha Latte ($9.50): Close to $10 for a drink is crazy, and the quality and taste absolutely do not justify it. I expected a bright, fresh orange flavor, but it tasted exactly like heavy marmalade jam. Just like the first drink, there was 0% matcha taste. It was so unpalatable that we ended up just tossing it straight into the trash. The quality and execution just don't align with what they're charging. I definitely won't be returning--there are way better, more authentic matcha cafes down in OC that actually care about the tea flavor. read more

I recently visited KIT Coffee and tried both the Strawberry Matcha Latte and the regular Matcha Latte. Unfortunately, both drinks were very underwhelming. The regular matcha lacked flavor to the point where it didn't even taste like matcha, and adding vanilla syrup didn't help--it just tasted like watered-down milk and you couldn't even tell that any syrup was added. Unlike traditional coffee shops, you are asked not to open a laptop while sitting at the table. I guess I understand why, but it's not welcoming. There isn't much room to wait inside, but depending on the time of day you come, I can see that being a problem. Lots of merchandise to buy too! Some of the mugs are super cute. I was tempted lol. It's definitely a cute place for a quick visit! I wouldn't recommend for a hang out, or doing work on a computer. Although theres seating outside by the koi pond, the experience is for the cafe not fashion island.

Stepping in, the cafe has a lot of seating and I can see how it'd be nice to study in. I ordered Kashimiri Chai and the drink was so light and the cardonom really shines through. Their banana pudding is DIVINE, it is on the sweeter side but it's homemade and you fs tell! They also make their syrups in houseee! I tried the House chai but I ended up prefering the Kashimiri Chai! I'll def be coming back for more since the staff kept raving about their coffee. Sarah and Patrick were the sweetest! Service was top tier, so friendly! and they gave me reccomendations based on my taste. I wasn't familiar with the menu and they gently guided me through my questions.

The bathrooms are also exceptionally clean and well-maintained, which always makes a long study session much more comfortable. My only real complaint was the wait time and communication. I ordered a drink and went to sit outside to get some work done. After it took quite a while for my order to come out, a staff member finally came outside to inform me that they had actually run out of yuzu. It felt a little disorganized and off that it took so long just to realize they were out of an ingredient. Despite the awkward ordering delay, the overall environment is excellent. It's a great, clean space to be productive, and I'd definitely give it another chance.

It was delicious and we got the chocolate muffin very good as well and not too sweet. The deserts tasted homemade. The service was quick and she helped us decide. The color aesthetic reminds me of a Tiffany blue. I love that they also have seating outdoor as well. The sunset view was beautiful as we were leaving. There is also WiFi and bathrooms so we were able to really relax after being out in the sun. They have a small parking lot behind the building as well as street parking.

I came on the weekend morning and they had literally 2 s'mores cookies in their sad, empty baked goods case. They said, we get fresh baked cookies on Mondays and Thursday. I came back on Monday. Again, almost empty bakery case and no paleo cookies. Then I'm told they are out of an ingredient for the paleo cookies. They have no idea when they will have the ingredients or the cookies again. They call themselves the "Cookie Lab", but they have only a half-dozen cookies TOTAL for sale on any given morning. Booooooo! If you want to be a cookie dealer, get some cookie stock.
