Kelty Tile & Marble

We hired Kelty Tile Company after meeting with them and being assured they were a full-service…read morecompany that could handle every aspect of our remodel from start to finish. They came to our home, discussed our vision, and drafted a detailed contract outlining everything we wanted completed. Unfortunately, while the project had some great moments, it also came with significant frustrations. Pros 1. Kristen, the designer, is exceptional. Kristen is the true star of this company. She helped us make decisions on tile, paint, and fixtures and made sure everything would look cohesive in the end. Even though it wasn't her job to manage the entire project, she was available at every stage and her attention to detail kept us from giving up mid-project. She is meticulous, professional, and truly gifted at what she does. 2. Their tile installation is excellent. Kelty is a tile company--and that part of the project shows it. The tile work in our kitchen turned out beautifully. Their tile team was polite, professional, and clearly skilled. 3. Their primary painter/prep worker is incredible. The young woman who handled nearly all of the painting and prep work was outstanding. She worked hard, was thorough, and clearly cares about the quality of her work. Whatever she's being paid, it isn't enough. I would personally give her a reference if she ever needed one. Cons 1. Avoid their electrical services. If you need electrical work, I strongly recommend handling that separately. The electrician they used did not seem to know what he was doing. He had us purchase two different light fixtures because he said the first "wouldn't work." He ultimately left without installing the second fixture, saying it couldn't be done. Our son came home and installed it in thirty minutes. 2. "Full project management" was not delivered. One of the major reasons we chose Kelty was their promise to manage the entire project from beginning to end. That simply did not happen. The project manager was rarely on site, communication was inconsistent, and progress only happened when my husband repeatedly reached out for updates. We even had to create written task lists ourselves just to get certain work completed. Final Thoughts The biggest indicator of whether a company did a great job is whether you would hire them again. We have another home project coming up, and unfortunately, we will be looking for a different company. Kelty shines in design and tile, and they have some wonderful people on their team--but the lack of true project management and poor subcontracted electrical work were too significant to overlook.

Scam artists... I…read morebought my home with existing piling work and a warranty from Structural Solutions (SS) but was not familiar with the company. I recently contacted SS to make adjustments and after a testy back and fourth SS, specifically the owner Mack Chunn and Mgr Drew Lang, they agreed that my warranty covered the work. Several weeks pass as we reviewed details and scheduled the work. Work day arrives and I get an invoice for the work that we had already agreed was covered by my warranty. I almost pressed forward and simply agree to pay but after further thought I realized, what if something goes wrong? I can't trust these guys to do the right thing... I will be engaging a lawyer... As context, I researched this company prior to contacting them, read the terrible reviews and came prepared (ie spoke to other vendors, got educated on the situation, asked other vendors if I could call on them if needed). Interestingly, I'm reading other reviews and can confirm what others have mentioned is the Exact tactic SS applies. SS claims "heave", which is a RISE due to the presence of water. My measurements show "settlement" or FALL due to lack of water, and I had outside vendors confirm based on physical review and data readings. Regardless, SS simply states, "not covered by warranty", just like they have with everyone else... Very disappointed with Drew Lang, will be contacting a lawyer and reporting this to local Better Business Bureau. Interestingly, these reviews show a "pattern" and we will be able to use this in court...

same results as others; they finish the job 4 weeks ago and after the first major rain, 4 holes…read moresunk in over a foot; when I asked will they fill the holes they said for $200! they didn't pack the dirt! and took my excess dirt away and charged me an extra $800 because they had to dig another foot down in 8 holes to get underneath my foundation, the agreement mentioned an extra charge for extra difficulty but didn't specifically say what that was? and it didn't say how much extra $$ either! there were nothing said how far they had to dig? the agreement was to lift the foundation!! buyer be ware of the fine print and non disclosures. I paid for 13 plyons but only 12 holes- they put 2 pylons in one hole and called it ! fine print- it never said Holes dug, but pylons placed! because I wasn't familiar with the foundation language and I got taken. the general manager never mentioned that the average foundation is 12 inches below ground level? also the fine print says there is on guarantee they can raise your foundation but dig holes anyway and place pylons to keep it from sinking any further lol I hope this help the next customer to know what to ask! The workers were great from south America and wish they could start their own business!!!!!! Mark C (Business Owner) thanks for your response; My review is me expressing myself of not properly reading line for line of the agreement and was surprised of the extra cost involved that was Not discussed during the almost 2 hour consultation! I wanted to remind anyone else to fully read their agreements and ask questions! When you read my review it shows I took responsibility !!! And hopefully the company will discuss my couple of disappointments with the next costumers, and making a joke about me saying "fine print" because your font is the same size was nice also sir! My meaning was to read every line!
