i can't believe i haven't made it to kitchen table sooner! wow, what a delightful experience. when i walked in, every single staff member smiled at me. all of them. i've never had that experience before, i was so excited to finally eat here. i love farm-to-table restaurants with local ingredients, it's my favorite. there are 3 different seating areas, i sat at the bar for a solo date. parker is an excellent bartender, and although i came in for the steak tips, i couldn't decide between steak or chicken for my first visit. parker said both are great but between those two, the chicken is his favorite. there was a couple seated next to me that said they come all the time, and anything you order here, will be completely satisfying. i thought they may just be saying that, but truly after my first time here, i believe it wholeheartedly. i ordered their roasted chicken, a marinated, semi-boneless half chicken with sautéed spring spinach & vegetables, and mashed maine potatoes. bread service 9.9/10 roasted chicken 10/10 spring vegetables 10/10 mashed potatoes 9.8/10 but it's better if you do cocktail 10/10 first, the "but it's better if you do," is fantastic. not my typical go-to type of drink, and i was more than pleasantly surprised and loved it. privateer white rum, sour plum liqueur, simple, peychauds with a dehydrated lime. "It's much better to face these kinds of things with a sense of poise and rationality" - i picked it because of this quote on the menu, and i forgot how much i used to love p!atd. i thought to myself, "i've heard this before somewhere..." i loved the bread & roasted garlic butter, however on a little cutting board it was difficult not to make a mess. i guess that's part of what makes it "kitchen table." it is the perfect, round sourdough loaf with the most delicious butter. the roasted chicken was prepared flawlessly. juicy and tender inside, and a perfect crispy skin, just wow. i absolutely loved the selection of spring vegetables, along with the sherry sauce; sautéed spinach, carrots, mushrooms, and onions. the mashed potatoes were perfect once i added extra salt, extra pepper & whipped it up with more of that garlic butter to my liking, however it was prepared great. i requested it without bacon butter, how it typically comes prepared, and the garlic butter is a great substitute. everything was impeccable. i travel to boston often just for food, because i find that the food in beverly, as a whole, is just not up to par, even with all of the marketing. kitchen table is different than any other restaurant in beverly, and now i don't have to travel so far to get the most delicious meals! i am honestly blown away by how amazing my meal was, and i highly recommend kitchen table to anyone in the north shore, and i'd even say it's completely worth going out of your way for. whether solo, a romantic or friend date, or with a small or large group, kitchen table is here to serve (one of the best meals you've had in a long time). there were some other ladies at the bar that were extremely hospitable and helpful as well, i didn't catch their names this time. i wanted to take some pictures at the end of my meal, at closing time when it had emptied out, and molly encouraged me to take all the pictures i needed. just fantastic service by all of the staff. i couldn't be happier with my first experience at kitchen table. here's to many more! ambiance: 4.9/5 food: 5/5 drinks: 5/5 service: 5/5 kitchen table: 5/5 read more

This place is consistently yummy and service is great! I've been here a handful of times and last time, they accommodated my party of 6 on no notice. Really appreciate that. Their breakfast, namely the eggs benedict is excellent, and the bloody mary's are fab. I think their soups stand out too- always ask about the soup du jour! My husband and I ate here this past Saturday around 7 pm. We sat at the empty bar, and Alex, the bartender, was very nice and efficient and made me an awesome tequila cosmo. We had the bleu cheese fondue appetizer served with French fries, and it was just okay. I pictured it differently-more chunks of bleu cheese. Instead, it was more like a creamy cheese soup. My husband had a hamburger, and it was good, but my local fish entree was so small. I dislike it when it says it comes with seasonal vegetables, but the portion is so measly, and the fish was on top of it, so at first you're ike, where are the veggies. This dish should have been $20, not $30. And the draft Coors Light should have been $5, not $8. We were taken aback when Alex added a $3.50 Kitchen Appreciation Tip on our check. When we inquired about it, she was kind enough to take it off our bill, but it left a bad taste in our mouths, and we will not be back. Thankfully, the pandemic is over, and during it, when we did order Take-Out, we ALWAYS tipped because we knew restaurants were struggling, but COVID has been over for a solid 3 years, and restaurants should stop adding these additional tips!!! If you did not do this, and you lowered your prices like the draft Coors Light, I think you would get more locals. The bar was empty on a Saturday at 7 PM. Your Location is not great, so you need to make some positive changes to get more people into your place. read more

100% recommend. The bar is super friendly and warm. Especially friendly and safe for a woman by herself! There's a great beer selection - three types of lager, one black. I had the chowder and mussels. They couldn't have been better. Everything tasted like it had been pulled out of the ocean today. We just got home from the most delicious and welcoming dining experience we have had in a very long time. We stopped in knowing nothing about the restaurant but needing a place to eat after a long, hard day with a sick loved one. From the moment we walked in, we were met with welcoming smiles and friendly banter. It only got better from there. Our sad hearts needed comfort food and warm companionship, and that's exactly what we received. Kitchen Table opened in the former John's Bar & Grille in Beverly. This classic local restaurant and bar offers prepared to order dishes including seafood, chicken, steak, pork chops, burgers, appetizers, salads, and chowder. The pricing is higher moderate, most entrees $20-$35 range. I stopped by KT for dinner recently.  The place has the dining room with two sections to the left and a bar/lounge to the right. I decided to be seated in the dining room since the bar looked a bit busy. I was given their food and drink menus to review.  I was offered some tap water, came out in a glass bottle and served in a glass.  I was deciding between the Faroe Island Salmon, K.T. Steak & Potatoes, The "Scratch Kitchen" Burger, and the Beer Mussels. I decided on the Baked Native Hake  ($31 plus tax) and a side of Buttered Pappardelle Pasta with Parmesan ($9 plus tax). The food was served together in 15 minutes.  The Native Hake was very tender served over Fall Squash Polenta, Roasted Baby Brussels Sprouts, Brown Butter and Sage Sauce. This dish had good flavors.  The side of Buttered Pappardelle Pasta with Parmesan was smothered in butter and topped with grated parmesan cheese. However, the wide noodles were a bit undercooked & chewy and could've used another minute of cooking.  After I finished dinner, I was offered dessert, which included apple crisp, flourless chocolate torte, maple brown sugar brulee, and double chocolate biscotti trio. I did not see ice cream on the dessert menu, which would likely go well with the apple crisp and the chocolate torte. I passed on dessert. The check came out to $44 with tax & 3 percent kitchen staff tip and before server tip.  Overall, dinner at Kitchen Table Beverly was pretty good. It seems like the menu changes often. First time for brunch here. The sticky bun was great to start. I had the green eggs, pink ham & white cheese. The eggs are pistou Eggs which are scrambled with a garlic and basil Pistou sauce, smoked ham and goat cheese. Incredible flavor combo. My daughter loved the Dutch baby. Not your average pancake! We came here for dinner before a concert at Cabot Theater on a Friday night. We had a reservation although it was only about half full so unsure if we needed one. Per our norm we both ordered the old fashioned. It was served with a large cube which I like but was excessively sweet, almost undrinkable at $19. I did tell the waiter but he didn't say or do anything about it. I guess that's personal preference. Didn't order appetizers for lack of time but went straight to dinner. Our waiter had taken a large table and we got a different waiter at this point. I ordered the garlic herb chicken and my date had the burger. I will say I rarely order chicken out but this was one of the best dishes I have ever had! The chicken was moist, flavorful and had a luxuriously crispy skin! The mashed potatoes were amazing and the sautéed summer veg was also delicious. The burger was cooked perfectly however the bacon onion jam on it was almost undetectable. The fries were just average. Service was quite slow which I normally appreciate but we had a deadline because of the concert. Start to finish for a drink, a main course and a dessert was about 2 hours which is longer than it should have been for a not-busy room. We still ordered the blueberry crumble for dessert which was lacking in flavor and extremely dry. The waiter did remove it from the bill. All in all a very good meal, would come back! read more

I really wanted to like this restaurant and had high hopes from the menu. We went at 7:30 on a Friday night and the restaurant was about a quarter full. Red flag. Ambience: the 70s disco was terrible in that environment (and almost any other) and detracted from the experience. Seating: We were two people and the host tried to seat us at the worst cramped table in the bar right by the door, but didn't object when we pointed out a nearby four-top (no chance you're going to fill up at this point). Service: Started well, but declined quickly. Entrees came in the middle of our starter. The server didn't check back on our empty drinks (or satisfaction with food) until we were almost finished with our entrees. Their loss on the high-markup alcohol, I guess. Food: Very fresh, but at times underseasoned. The polenta that came with the hake was a little bland - could have used salt, either directly or from some parm. On the plus side, the fish was perfectly cooked/seasoned and the roasted brussels were spot on. The mushroom pappardelle was loaded with mushrooms and the pasta was fresh, but the sauce was a little sweet. Again, salt, cream, butter would have helped to balance things out. Certainly edible, but underwhelming. Bill: There's a spot for "additional tip" that makes you wonder if they either already added it in or compensate their servers really well. Weird. Examining the bill revealed that it's in addition to the 3% they add for the kitchen (which is great). It's confusing, though - maybe they should call it "server tip" so the servers don't miss out (which may explain the service point above). Sadly, unless they start to pay attention to the basics, I don't think they'll last. read more

Overall: Nothing special. I wanted to like Kitchen Table more than I did. Maybe we were there on an off night for the chef. But the dinner we had was not particularly special, and expensive for what it was. Maybe we'll try this place again in like 6 months - it won't be a priority, that's for sure. The clam chowder was really disappointing. The dominant flavor was potatoes, not clams, and it was the consistency of soup, not thickened or rich in flavor. I ate it all and it wasn't unpleasant, but in any clam chowder competition it would almost certainly rank among the lowest of the alternatives if not at the very bottom. The caesar salad again was nothing special. It needed more garlic or really much of a strong flavor. It was very disappointing as well. For my entree, I ordered the garlic and herb roasted chicken. Again, it tasted like chicken - nothing more, nothing less, and chicken that was not particularly special in flavor which I might have hoped if it was a farm-to-table version of chicken. I did not get much of a garlic or herb flavor in the entree served to me. The bottom line is that it seemed much of my dinner was under-flavored and underwhelming in impact. Perhaps the style of this chef is to be very sparing on adding things like garlic or herbs or whatever it is that gives something a stronger flavor impact. One can't argue with the quality of the food at Kitchen Table. But the substance of it - on just one visit - seemed all too lacking. And dinner for two was expensive (approx. $150 including tip) for a completely forgettable meal. read more

It was not that busy last evening though given the quality of the food, the service, and the uniqueness of the cocktails, I don't anticipate that will last long! The flavors in the cocktails alone will have us coming back as will the chicken which is not something I typically order however it was outstanding- moist and cooked perfectly. I chose the Kitchen Table because I could get a reservation for one person. I was late, so I called to let them know I was on my way. The Hostess was gracious and welcomed me when I did arrive. The ambiance was cheerful, and it was obvious that folks were having a great time. My dinner was absolutely delicious, and so was my non-alcoholic drink, strawberry shrub (I think that was the name!). Was really looking forward to this place opening, so expectations were high, it didn't disappoint in terms of creative dishes and fresh flavors, though the level of salt felt high even for restaurant food. Went with my husband and 9-year-old daughter for an early Sunday dinner late summer, and we had: 1) smoked duck appetizer, delicious and came with a salad (greens, watermelon, goat cheese, pickled onion) that was so yummy that my daughter who doesn't eat salad gobbled it up 2) Wings: grateful for the server's rec to get the sauce on the side because it was spicy, but homemade and tasty. Blue cheese dressing had a nice buttermilk tang! 3) Baba ganoush: fresh tasting and not at all oily/greasy like this dish can be elsewhere 4) Pork chop: came with Mac and cheese and collards, mostly went in our doggie bag because we overdid it on the apps :) 5) Burger: the kid said it was the "best burger" she'd ever had, and she's a burger fiend who's sampled many in Beverly. 6) Summer Veggie Stew: Yum! Limas we're creamy; rice was fluffy, buttery, and full of fresh herbs Again, only suggestion was we all agreed that a lighter hand on the salt would have been welcome.
